__________________________ Pae'il are creatures born of magic, so it's in their nature to be able to harness that magic within them.
In the past, Pae'il believed that their powers were a gift from the Guardians. Special scrolls were once delivered blessing the pae'il with their unique abilities, then not too long ago, powers were given via potions brewed by Telrunya's postion master, Kalandandra. Most recently, powers were obtained via relics, items or rituals, depending on the power that those the Pae'il.
__________________________ The truth has been uncovered. The power has always been inside each Pae'il, just waiting for the trigger to unleash it.

Faerie Powers
_____Faerie Pae'il are the embodiment of creative ideas from the Astral Plain. The Guardians craft a soul from the creative energy and breathe life into a sculpted work of art to form an inspired Faerie Pae'il. They get their powers from the stories in which they are based. Depending on where their soul comes from, they can have up to two powers reflecting the creative idea.
Faerie Pae'il (Fae) powers do not work like any other type of Pae'il. Their source is not The Guardians, nor the Taint or the Elements. The source is still a mystery, and no living Fae has thought to question it, because it is assumed their powers come from The Guardians just the same as all Angels and Demons.
Role-play Notes:- No Pae'il knows what you know. They only know what they've been exposed to on the island.
- Faerie Pae'il do not KNOW they are based on another idea/concept/story. They might have memories that relate to it, but they will not know where those memories come from.
- As far as any Fae knows, they're a child of The Guardian, the same as all Angels and Demons. (NOTE: The truth will be revealed in an upcoming plot arc.)
- The powers are player choice, however if they present conflict with other Pae and already chosen powers, the staff and RP mods have the right to alter it.
- Faerie concepts must be registered so that we don't get duplicates. This is usually done automatically when they are created, because the shop rarely sell Fae not based on something before creation. However, it does happen once in a while, and new Fae need to have their concept approved.
- Second generation Fae do not require a concept in order to exist, because they are born from the union of two Fae.
Racial Abilities:
These are abilities that all Faerie Pae'il have, regardless of generation.- Child:
- Magic Shield - concentrated magical energy can be used to temporarily shroud the child, protecting it from harm.
- Teenager:
- Strong Magic Shield - stronger, better camouflage, but will disperse upon physical or magical contact, absorbing the impact.
- Magic Orb - small orb created of concentrated magical energy that can disorient, knockback, and disarm a foe.
- Adult:
- Stronger Magic Shield - stronger shield, capable of providing temporary cover from assault in addition to more effective camouflage.
- Magic Volley - create several small concentrated magic orbs that explode upon impact, causing mild damage, knocking opponents back. This has a limit of 3 uses in any given battle, and it easily countered by other Factions' shields.
- Aparate - Fae can transport themselves to any other location provided they have been there before and can clearly see it in their mind's eye. Time of day or light conditions do not apply.
- Hallowed Adult:
- All Adult spells, with no change
- Healing Touch - a minor heal that allows the Fae to heal another (cannot be used on self) to heal minor injuries. Works best on other Fae, but can be mildly effective on all other types of Pae. This will not cure Taint or other ailments.
- Luminary:
- Powers will depend on the successful completion of the Quest. All prior powers will be kept.

FAERIE TALES
Faerie Tale | Pae'il Name
Brief description
Power
----------------------------------------
Arachne | Arachne
Arachne is based on the woman of the same name from mythology who was transformed into a spider by Athena.
Weave the Web - Arachne can weave many different themes/objects/picture in spider's web.
Ares | Sereg
Sereg is based off of the Greek god Area (the Roman Mars), the cowardly, and yet brave god of war.
Artemis | Maethor

Axl Rose | Axl
Axl is based on Axl Rose, singer-songwriter and musician, lead singer of Guns N' Roses
Incite Riot - When Axl plays an 'angry' song, the music will incite surrounding pae to become more aggressive. As the power gains strength it will be able to affect more pae, have a longer duration, and have a greater effect on the pae. At first the aggression caused will be just a feeling, but as the power gets stronger it will cause shouting, rowdiness, destruction of objects/scenery, and finally violent fights.
Rain Roses - When Axl plays a 'love' song, the music will temporarily cause the sky to rain roses in a small area around Axl. As this power grows in strength it will enchant the listener to be temporarily in love with Axl as long as he is still playing the song. During this time, if the other pae is wearing clothes, it will be taken off and flung at Axl.
Aynia | Ayiana
Ayiana is based off of the Celtic fairy queen of Ulster, who was also the fairy goddess of prosperity and abundance.
Bird of Paradise, The | Seth
Seth is based off of the flower called the Bird of Paradise.
Bird of Paradise - Seth can teleport from place to place via birds of paradise that he planted.

Butterflies - Symbolic Changes | Drizelda
Drizelda is based off of butterflies, more specifically the spiritual change and renewal that they represent.
Lore - Dizzy can read any text, in any language and know what it says.
Dream Butterflies - Dizzy can create spirit butterflies that are capable of traveling through the dreams of other pae. These dream butterflies do not affect the pae in any way, but they remember what they see and bring the images back to Dizzy.
(Future Hallowed ability) Dream Brew - Dizzy can make a concoction that puts Pae in a dream state, and her butterflies then can enter the dream to show Pae'il what she needs to show them.
Cronus | Coronus
Coronus is based off of the ancient Greek god Cronus (the Roman Saturn), who controlled the flow of time.
(While the below powers have been approved, some additional limitations have been added. First, if she attempts to speak of events of the future to other Pae'il, her lips will be magically sealed. Second, we'd like to request that she not make up any 'facts' about other players' Pae'il from other universes, as this can be considered a type of character god-modding, and some players may not be comfortable with their Pae'il being used as such. And lastly, she is not allowed to comment on events in any PLOT ORPs as if she has inside knowledge unless you have spoken with a staff member for approval first, due to plot surprises planned.)
Time Travel - Coronus can time travel, but only to parallel universes and not her own.
Parachronial Cognition - Coronus has the ability to know which timeline she is on, and what decision led to being there
Time portal - Coronus can take others with her by making a portal for them (one pae only)
Day, The | Dayht

Elyta is based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, "The Nightingale", AKA "The Emperor's Nightingale"
Metal Bending - Elyta can shape metal with her bare hands. However, the strength of the metal she shapes determines both how much energy she must use to shape it, as well as how brittle or warped it might become if not handled expertly. (i.e. Stronger metals and alloys would take more effort and hold more risk for being ruined in the process.)
Healing Song - Like the nightingale in the fable, Elyta can heal injuries and sickness with the sound of her voice when she sings, affecting all who can hear it.

Silvertongue - Tiffany can bring forth objects, beings, and other things from books when she reads them aloud.
Izanami | Morena
Morena is based off of the Japanese goddess of Creation and Death, who died early on and spent the rest of her days as an illusion to the living.
Lady of the Lake | Nimue
Nimue is based on the Lady of the Lake, or Lady of Avalon, from Arthurian Legend.
Excaliber - Nimue can produce a duplicate of the legendary sword out of water. The sword is only temporally and will fade back to water once it's fulfilled it's purpose.

Lockpick - Eudora can shift her fingers and hands to pick any lock.
Bliss & Horror Inducement - Eudora is able to create feelings of intense pleasure or discomfort in others. This is a conscious decision that she must make to do so, and cannot create both bliss and horror simultaneously. She is most likely to only ever use the 'bliss' portion of her power, given her good heart, however, if in danger, she may use the 'horror' long enough to distract her attacker and get away.

New and unlisted First Generation Faerie Pae'il please post this form to register the concept your Fae is based on.
| Code: |
Pae'il Name:
Concept: (story, fable, myth, idea, etc. Can be anything, including anything made up)
Primary Power:
Secondary Power:
Tertiary Power: (rare, for PLOT purposes and must be approved by RP mod beforehand)
Magical Item: (some fae will have unique items, but most will have a default staff only) |
Please post this form if you are already listed, but are filling out your powers, because some older Fae do not have both powers. Only fill in the Tertiary power if it has been previously discussed.
PLEASE NOTE: These concepts are not the actual idea. There is a Fae based on the idea of Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, not the real Goddess. We have a Deity Pae that IS Artemis.
Also, we have five Fae based on the stories of the Ancient Leaders, in addition to those actual Leaders. Fae can really be based on anything, provided there isn't already a fae with that concept.

Mellons
Mellons are the name for the little fairies that inhabit the island that decide to bond with and aid the Pae'il. The land of Telrunya has always been inhabited by fairies of all shapes and sizes, even long before Pae'il existed. They're quiet and keep to themselves mostly, but will always help a Pae in need.
It is through the help of Mellons that a Pae'il is able to unlock their magical potential.
To most Pae'il, the fairies will only appear as a little glowing ball of light with translucent, flittery wings. This is because most Pae'il do not take the time to get to know the fairies, so they never truly see them for who they are. When a Pae'il bonds with a fairy, it becomes a Mellon (ancient Pae'il word for "companion") and once a trusting relationship has been established its true form will be revealed.
How to Befriend a Fairy (And How to actually unlock a Pae's powers):- In addition to the code in the post above, you must include a short SOLO RP, or a link to a completed RP in which your Pae'il (child or older) meets and connects with their Mellon.
- No Pae'il will have full use of their powers upon first meeting their Mellon. As the bond grows, so will the power, so keep that in mind.
- Staff will quote you in this thread to notify you know when your Pae's power is accepted, or if it needs adjustment. (We usually only request adjustment in the cases of duplicate powers, potential plot-breaking powers, or god-modding abilities.)
- A Mellon in the stage of a ball of light will be added to the cert for Child and Teen stages. Adult Pae'il will have their Mellon's true form on their cert. To have a Mellon added to your cert, please post in the Cert Request thread, otherwise it will be added when the Pae grows, or changes stages (from Adult to Hallowed, for example).
Warning: Some Mellon are cheeky.

Pae'il Name: Cabel
Concept: Melisseus of Crete -- MELISSEUS was the rustic Daimon (Spirit) of honey and the art of beekeeping.
Primary Power: Sticky - Cabel can attach himself to objects or other Pae'il.
Secondary Power: Bee Buzz - Cabel can communicate with honey bees, and ask for their assistance when needed.
Tertiary Power: N/A
Magical Item: Small honeycomb charm that hangs from his staff.
---
(He already has a Mellon on his cert, but it's an old one and he's never really bonded with it in RP, so...I'll do a short SOLO here relating to a change in their relationship to justify the addition of his second power.)
The quiet was normal, he was alone afterall, aside from the ball of light with wings that followed him everywhere. To be honest, he forgot it was there sometimes; it could disappear for hours at a time then return, and he'd have never noticed. He certainly noticed when it started speaking to him.
He'd stopped by the old home to pick up a few things. He hadn't been back for a while, but there were still some personal effects, nothing too personal, but a few drinking cups and utensils, things like that, that he could use elsewhere. He really couldn't live here anymore. Too many memories. He'd allowed himself to get lost in the memories while packing, when the voice broke through his haze.
"Are you going to cling forever?"
Startled, the Fae nearly dropped the wooden cup in his hands, eyes darting around before fixing on the ball of light hovering in front of his face. If a ball of light could look displeased, this one did. Cabel frowned, momentarily taken aback by being reprimanded on personal matters by a...sprite?
"Excuse me? What business is it of yours what I do?"
The wings buzzed quickly, the fairy hovering momentarily before settling down on the confused Fae's shoulder. "Listen, man, I know it hurts, but...it's been a long time. You gotta' face the music eventually. Move on with your life. There's more out there..."
Grumbling, Cabel turned away from the fairy, shaking his head. "I don't know why it matters to you so much, but it's not that easy. Even if my head knows she's gone...my heart won't accept it." Why was he being so open with a rude little fairy? Maybe because, he'd gotten so used to it being there, that he figured it'd seen everything anyway...what was left to keep secret?
"You've given it time already. Time only does so much. The rest is up to you," the fairy continued, flickering slightly. "Aren't there others now; others who depend on you? Who need you to do more than sulk away in the dark somewhere?"
Even if it hurt and he felt like being obstinate, he could feel the truth in the fairy's words. Odd; he'd never felt connected to the creature like this before. Strange how it took all this time before they could be open with each other. "I just...I'm not sure I remember how to do that anymore. How to be like that."
"There's help. But, only if you accept it."
"How?"
"Just try. And if you need help, ask for it."
Silence. Then finally, "Alright, I'll try."
The Mellon seemed pleased by this, zipping up into the air again with the buzz of little wings. "Excellent! Effort is all I ask. It can make all the difference in the world, you'll see."
Shaking his head, not entirely convinced, but unable to resist a slight smile, Cabel agreed, "Yes, we'll see, won't we?"

Pae'il Name: Paloma
Concept: Noah's Ark Dove -- The dove who brought the olive branch to Noah's ark signalling that land was near.
Primary Power: Branch of Hope; can bring a sense of hope or peace to Pae in conflict
Secondary Power: Spirit Dove; can create incorporeal spirit doves to use as short-range messengers
Tertiary Power: n/a
Magical Item: Small dove charm that hangs from her staff (already in art).
Today Paloma is feeling truly sorry for herself. Jeanette Isabella was off doing Guardians-knew-what with Guardians-knew-who. And it's not like Paloma had a problem with that. Jeanette Isabella was a grown Pae now and could do what she liked. Nevermind that her Iordanes had also left her, going back to his other family on that dopey mountain, whatever it was called. She hmphs and rests her chin on her hand glumly.
"You could go make *new* friends, you know," came a voice.
Paloma jumps, startled. "What the...who said that?" she asks, looking around.
"Down here," says a dry voice.
Paloma looked down at her knee. She hadn't really ever noticed her little blue fairy companion. He'd just always been there. He'd never really said much to her, but it was comforting just to have him around. "Oh, it's you. What was your name again?"
"You named me Mer when you were little."
"Yikes, that long ago. Why are you still hanging around, anyway?"
"So you'd always have a friend."
Paloma's face flushes. She hadn't precisely treated her little Mer as a friend in like...ever. "Sorry I've ignored you...I do appreciate you being here, though." She sighs and curls her arms around her legs, bringing her knees up close to her face, to look the little Mellon in the eyes. "Seems like my family doesn't have time for me anymore."
Mer's eyebrow lifts. "And since when have *you* had time for anyone but yourself?" he asks pointedly.
Yowch. Right in the conscience. "I suppose I haven't been the most generous..."
"Yeah, you suppose," says Mer. "Now quit feeling sorry for yourself and find something productive to do."
"Like what?" asks Paloma.
"I don't care. Build a better mousetrap, perhaps?"
"Why would I do that?"
A little sigh. "It was a joke."

Pae'il Name: Elyta
Concept: Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, "The Nightingale", AKA "The Emperor's Nightingale" - [Link]
Primary Power: Metal Bending - Elyta can shape metal with her bare hands. However, the strength of the metal she shapes determines both how much energy she must use to shape it, as well as how brittle or warped it might become if not handled expertly. (i.e. Stronger metals and alloys would take more effort and hold more risk for being ruined in the process.)
Secondary Power: Healing Song - Like the nightingale in the fable, Elyta can heal injuries and sickness with the sound of her voice when she sings, affecting all who can hear it.
Tertiary Power: N/A
Magical Item: Her wings are already unique.
---
"Oh come on...just get in there already," the Fae muttered in frustration, struggling to get the next piece fitted to her latest contraption. It was a flying aid! Not that any Pae with wings would need it, but...what about those who didn't have wings? It just wasn't fair that she couldn't share the joys of sailing on the thermals with her new friend. She'd deal with the problem of actually getting Cosworth to try the device after she figured out how to make it work.
"You're doing it all wrong; that's never going to work."
"Of course it will!" she snapped back automatically. "I've worked on all the figures, the hypotheses, and even if there are a few bugs, I'll work them out before Cosworth tries...it... Hey, wait a minute, who is that?" she blinked, looking around and not seeing any Pae.
A little ball of light zipped into her face, making her cross-eyed and nearly falling backwards on her rump from the surprise. "It'll never work. It's too light to support a Pae, you ditz! You need something stronger, but lighter!"
"Where am I supposed to find something like that?!?" she snapped back, not at all concerned that she was debating physics with a glow bug.
"Hmm..." The light seemed to ponder this, then zipped around her person in circles, finally slowing near her wrist. "Something more like these! Get more!" It started tugging at the bracelet, trying to pull it off her wrist.
"And just what would I do even if I had more of that? Hey, cut it out!" Elyta fussed, making a combination swat-grab at the little being, who let go and darted out of the way. Instead, she grabbed her bracelet, unable to stop in time...bent it rather than coming to a swift, jarring halt like she'd expected. Elyta stared, slack-jawed at the bent piece of metal around her wrist. It had taken no effort at all; like folding parchment.
"That's what you'd do." The glowing sprite sounded smug and pleased with itself.
Elyta was quiet for a moment, pulling off the bracelet and starting at it for sometime before looking back at the tiny fairy. "...I liked that bracelet." Shaking the bent piece of jewelry towards the Mellon with a smirk, she quipped, "You owe me a new one, half-pint."

Pae'il Name: Caléndula
Concept: Día de los Muertos -- a Mexican holiday for the joyful remembrance of the dead
Primary Power: Calaveritas; can create and give away small sugar skulls, bestowing good luck upon the recipient. After a day or so, the skulls dissolve into sugar and the luck wears off.
Secondary Power:
Tertiary Power: n/a
Magical Item: n/a
Caléndula had noticed the soft ball of light hanging around her lately. Mostly she'd ignored it, since she figured it was a wandering spirit, and generally spirits like to be left to themselves. But after a few days, when it hadn't gone away, she decides to talk to it.
"Good morning, little spirit," she says one morning, as she wakes up. "You're still here. Are you trapped on this plane?"
"Of course not. I'm your Mellon."
"What's a Mellon?" asks Caléndula. "Are you a fruit spirit?"
"For the love of...not a melon, a Mellon. It's my job to hang around you and make sure you don't get into trouble and keep you company. And perhaps fill your head with something besides fluff."
"Oh," says Caléndula. She'd always thought her head was filled with sweets, personally. But maybe she was wrong. "D'you have a name then, Mellon spirit?"
"I'm not a...you know what, nevermind. And no, I don't have a name, but you could give me one if you wanted."
It sounded so hopeful. Caléndula smiles and thinks for a moment. "You could be Sandía," she suggests. "So why did you decide to hang around me?"
"It seemed like a good idea at the time. I like you. You're kind-hearted and even though you're a bit silly, that's better than being serious and cold-hearted."
"Oh," replies Caléndula again. "Well thank you. I do try to be my nicest. I know I'm not terribly clever, but I think there are more important things."
"Well, then lucky you, because I'm the cleverest Mellon there is!"
"Oh, well that's good that I have you then!" exclaims Caléndula. "So are you like, my conscience?"
"Well, I could be, if you were the sort of Pae who needed an extra little voice."
"What sort of Pae am I, then?" asks Caléndula curiously.
"The sort who names her fairy companion after a fruit."
Caléndula shrieks with giggles. "You got it! You got my joke! I'm so pleased!"
"Maybe this is why you need my help...no wonder you're still single."
