[SRP] Protecting [Thwayya x Onuris]

Thwayya had two beautiful cubs. Both were male and both were healthy. Thwayya couldn't have asked for anything more than that. The cubs were still very young so it was up to Thwayya to keep them close to home. She sat proudly in front of her den in front of the temple like a guard. Her trouble making cub days were over and now she was a mother.

Still felt kind of stuffy.

Well okay. Thwayya had always been on the stuffy side of things. She'd always been the one to sit back and watch her siblings rough house. Every once in a while the lioness would sneak off on her own. But that was a rare thing in general. Thwayya played things safe.

And so sitting in front of her den with her two boys safely behind her seemed like the best idea for now. They were to small to cause mischief any how.

Onuris was not asleep. Still he laid there with his eyes shut tight and pretended. The little lion cub was waiting for his mother to nod off. Usually she managed to and that was the perfect time for an adventure. Unlike his cautious mother, Onuris was a roughen. He enjoyed playing in the temple on his own and even sneaking out side to play in the sand on rare occasions.

Thwayya was still very much awake right now. This was not the time to sneak out. Onuris shuffled a little in to a perfect ball and watched his mother through the crack of his eye. Being young meant he was not as skilled or slick as some one with more experience at looking inconspicuous. It was obvious that Onuris was still very much awake. Anyone who was watching the cub could clearly see this.

Thwayya did indeed notice her little boy stirring when he was to be a sleep. She was good at being sneaky and watching the cubs from the corner of her eye. It was true, some times Onuris did manage to get out of the den with out being noticed. However, sometimes Thwayya let him have his little adventures. It was what she'd done as a cub after all.

To be fair, Thwayya figured Onuris a lot like her. At least she assumed he had a good head on his shoulders.

Her tail flicked from side to side very casually.

Thwayya's level head trait was only dominate when the cub was before her or their father. He was only good when older lions were watching. OTher times the cub was rough when it came to exploring and play time.

Onuris had no idea he was being watched. He felt pretty slick right about now. Just a matter of moments and Thwayya would nod off. He was sure of this. A little to sure of him self.

And then.

Tail.

As if charmed by the gods them selves the light coated cub shot up and pounced the tail. He dug his baby fangs playfully in to his mothers tail and attempted a rabbit kick with his baby claws. Onuris was not very effective.

Thwayya couldn't help but snicker when she felt little pinch like pain on her tail. Cubs played and liked to bite things. The female turned her head to the little boy and smirked knowingly at the little cub. She dipped her head down and nuzzled the cub off her tail.

"My little warrior. I think you've slayed the evil tail. Why don't you shut your eyes and sleep now." Her rough tongue flicked out and groomed the fluff of mane upon Onurises head. She nuzzled him once more before sitting upright and facing the little 'warrior'.

"You need your rest to grow big."

Onuris flinched when his mother flicked her tongue out to groom him. He'd been found out and all because of a stupid tail. The cub couldn't have been more displeased with him self or the circumstances. All he wanted to do was sneak out and explore the temple. Maybe even bask in the night glow of the moon if he was lucky enough to find an entrance to out side.

He gave his mother a sad look and even puckered up his bottom lip to give her the saddest puppy dog face he could master.

"I didn't mean to..." You would have sworn this cub had just had the scolding of his life the way he looked at Thwayya. "I can't sleep momma."

Thwayya put a large paw on Onurises head and shook her own.

"Don't look so sad cub." She gave him a small smile. "Don't you want to escape to the land of dreams and explore there? Its much more interesting than the temple. I assure you." She dipped her head down once more and nuzzled Onuris. "Please sleep now. Sleep now and dream." There was almost a sing song calmness in her request to Onuris. She got down low and laid down beside the small light cub.

"Sleep~"

Onurises ears flicked as his mother spoke. Before he knew anything else there was a yawn bellowing from his throat. The cub felt his eye lids grow heavy and lastly he felt his mother beside him.

Sleep.

He didn't want that right now. But he also did want it. He felt his little round body give in a little as he nuzzled up close to his mother. His dark lidded eyes were closing slowly. Onuris fought this best he could but the lids heaviness won out in the end. Soon he was snoozing lightly against his mother.

Thwayya felt Onuris beside her and knew he had nodded off to sleep. No cub was that good of an actor. She wrapped her tail around him and dipped her own head down. Her eyelids were growing heavy as well and in moments she felt the tiredness give in to sleep. With in moments she was sound asleep with Onuris by her side. Hopefully Onuris would not wake up in the middle of the night and go to explore on his own.

Thwayya didn't have time to worry about that though. She was dreaming.
