It was the late evening, slowly beginning to descend into the night. The lands were starting to quiet, and the lionesses were settling down from the day. Anansi was staring up at the bright moon that sometimes reminded her of her mami's eyes laying flat on her belly in the grass. Anansi and her siblings had played until they were tired, but like everyone else, they had eventually slowed and settled into the lull of the oncoming night. She was wondering where the moon came from and why it was there. It had always been there ever since she was born, and she suspected that it had been there much longer. It always disappeared during the daytime and reappeared in the dark of night. It was a curiosity for the cub, and Anansi decided that she would get to the bottom of it.
