I know these people too :--D Don't know if I'm a square for not laughing...
Have to say that they don't get too much of my appreciation, since I've actually had to work for what my life is, despite the Nordic welfare state, while they've gotten everything ready-made and have the freedoms to do whatever, good or devastating, and mommy and daddy will always pay.
Oh god I go to school with so many people like this.
Most of them are or were tradtional art majors.
Then they wonder why I sold my soul to advertising and computer coding in Graphic Design instead of making clay pots all day.
I've gotten this criticism from a lot of people(I have a degree in East Asian Studies from a liberal arts college.) "You're major is too broad, you can get better jobs with something focused and well known like business or law." But I really think that's kind of crap.
I hardly think the bad economy is my major's fault. Unemployment is above 10%, does that mean that 1 in 10 people are liberal arts majors who didn't know better than to "sell [their] soul."
Also, while this is purely anecdotal evidence: everyone I know who took pottery at my school is currently employed; my sister who has a Master's of Architecture is unemployed.

Yeah, I know a few people with "good job" degrees that are unemployed as well.

Also I really want to use this thread to rage about those people now.
