Amarus didn't really know what was going on in Neil's mind, that he was contemplating his successes or lack thereof in the fight; the ribbon covering his face made it more than a little difficult to tell what he was thinking, exactly. Not that she was any good at it usually. Once she had staunched her palms' slow trickle, she was ready to fight again. She punched Neil in the shoulder lightly, the corner of her mouth tilting up in a tired smile.
Using her FEAR had somehow made everything more... real. The consequences of failure, the duration of this excruciating battle, the sheer number of fighters who had been wounded or merely left. Amarus was not going to just leave. Even if she was the last one standing, she'd keep fighting until she couldn't move. That was her nature. She didn't particularly want to defend the Maul, as she cared very little about it, and she didn't feel the need to protect strangers, but this monstrous thing was a force that needed to be stopped, because it did not deserve to be here.
Still... for a moment, Amarus was tired. She was only in her first year, she was just herself. The remnants of a warrior, sure, but no longer the capable force she might possibly have been in some previous life, before she was stuck as a ghost. She leaned her head on Neil's shoulder, for not even half a heartbeat, and then she was standing upright again, arms crossed over her chest, surveying the house for weak points. Or at least, pretending to.

Even if Amarus was exhausted, she would never give up a fight. She must have dozed off a little, or something, when the house collapsed, however-- she didn't even realize that the glitch ghoul had been fighting it all this time. Would this thing not die?
She looked to Neil, and then back to the others, and to the house. She folded her fingers into the kuji-kiri for Zen, which she never used: the last of the Kuji-kiri, she only called upon that sign for emergencies. Not because she could restrain herself well, or knew much about moderation; it was as if the symbol only became unlocked in her mind when she needed it most.
Perhaps with enlightenment, she could understand how to defeat this house.
