{ Maul } The Food Court ORP - CLOSURE: 21

The smell of peppermint is the only warning anyone gets before the sounds of destruction and screams of violence fill the maul. The giant Christmas tree thrashes and lunges at shoppers, vicious toys and decorations drop from its branches to launch their own attacks. All exits and windows are blocked, trapping the holiday shoppers within the maul, forcing them to face the JOYful wrath of Christmas.

Within the food court, a strangely decorated yet oddly appetizing house has taken the place of the SinnaBomb.

General Rules & Infos

• IF YOUR STUDENT IS AT THE SCHOOL PLAY, THEY MAY NOT BE AT THE MAUL. THESE TWO AREAS ARE RUNNING IN TANDEM. THE MAUL IS NOW LOCKED DOWN. THEY CAN NO LONGER SWITCH AREAS.
  
• Due to the heavy foot traffic, the Maul has a limiting barrier placed on natural forms. Anything greater than 7 feet in any dimension is shrunk/locked down. This includes wingspan.
  
• Natural abilities are usable, but Maul Security may kick out anybody being too rowdy or destructive.
  
• Use this thread for reference as to what stores are at the Maul (ty pales and contributors <3)
  
• You may create branch-off PRPs and ORPs within the event forum. Be sure to label the location in the title, as in [MAUL PRP]
  
• Characters can only be in one RP thread at any given time, for everyone's sanity.
  
• Entering from/Exiting posts are an excellent way for you and others to keep track of a character's movement
  
• Bolding the names of other characters you're interacting with and quote-notifying other players will help keep your character from getting overlooked
  

Quest Characters

• You may play one quest character in this Maul setting, this is a good chance to take your favourite concept for an RP test drive
  
• During enrollment, subspecies/natural abilities/FEAR attack/and personal history are subject to GMs asking for changes, both small and large. It's recommended that you don't place a lot of focus on these aspects of your character unless you are very sure you won't have to retcon later.
  
• Your quest character is not an Amityville student just yet
  
• Questies have 30 hp and roll 2d6! They do not have a FEAR attack!

Pepin had neglected to leave the cluster of maul-goers that had formed around the food court when she'd had the pleasure of catching Lattice and her valk friend. Hearing a clatter she got up to see what was the matter-


And found herself staring down the most god dayum interesting structure of edible arrangements that she had ever laid eyes on. AND AS DELICIOUS AS IT LOOKED she could not feel the slightest bit appetized when.. other delicious looking things, toys, and goods she was not quite familiar with started to storm the premises.

"Aw can't you see I am on a diet?" she pouted at the giant, smell good house before looking around cautiously. There was a lot of chaos heard from any end of the maul at this point... where was there to go? Pepin reached for one of the lunch trays in one of the trash recepticals and held it up over her chest defensively.

The place just REEKED - and not just because he had been watching Muscles and Softy making out either. It just flat - OUT - STANK! He'd been downwind of Orges that had a better aroma than this and he looked around for whatever could be making such a bad smell. Was some perfume ghoul on the prowl with some off-brand mixture to torture all boilkind? Apparently not. What he saw instead was creatures screaming and running around - and not due to any Orange Light special either. The place just erupted in chaos and he felt he must have hit his head somehow. Maybe all the blood rushed to his head when Lattice grabbed a handful of Freya tush. To check if things were real, he opened one button to his jacket and shivered. Nope. Dreams didn't make you cold. Dreams had no regard for temperature. True Facts.

Buttoning up his jacket, he looked around at the strange plants and small figures that danced about, chasing groups here and there. If peppermint wasn't a worse enough smell, he got a good whiff of gingerbread and covered his nose with his sleeves.

That's when he saw the Gingerbread House bear it's frosty teeth.


"We're going to need a wwwhhhooollleee lot of milk." Then he heard the music overhead and doubled over, feeling the need to vomit.

Freya's stomach rumbled the moment she saw the Gingerbread House.

TG had taken the words right out of her mouth, as she felt thirsty just looking at it. Her arms flung out at the giant thing, head dropping back as she screamed in hunger.

"MY BODY IS READY!"  

[Pales]

When things started happening Lattice suddenly withdrew her hands from Freya's luscious booty in a rather guilty manner. For a brief moment she felt as if this was all happening because of the fact that she had touched Freya very inappropriately.

Guiltguiltguilt.

What do?

She was at a bit of a loss as she stared at the foreign shape before her. Very large and smelling..odd.

..Danger! Danger!

"DAMN THIS DELICIOUS HOUSE."

Okay. Okay. He just have to breath a bit and steel his stomach.

Looking a tad green around the ears, TG looked up at the house. It was not looking like it was going to be friendly and just - not be a disgusting, gross smelling house. "Who makes a house out of nasty smelling ....Is that made of Spookies? Someone's grandma doesn't know how to bake."

He looked around, and noticed Starseed was left wide open, machines still on as all workers ran out. Minimum wage was not enough to keep them at their posts. Ahh, employer loyalty.

TG moved over, opening the fridge there for PAYING customers and helped himself to a free Egg Grog and came back. "What do you all say? Never meet a Spookie that didn't get soggy." Ever scarling learned that lesson when their favorite treat turned to melting mush in their cups. And hey, TG liked free.

Speaking of Lattice and her valk friend, Pepin lurked in their direction when they reached the food court and clutched the lunch tray still.

Even the minipet was there!

">: The maul wants me to be unfaithful to myself. My beautiful self..." she looked down at TG after mumbling to herself and licked her lips at the Egg Grog he'd just gotten. That was... a good idea actually.

Anna's cute patent-leather shoes squeaked to a stop, and she took shelter behind an overturned table, peering out at the weird house-thing that seemed to be posing and posturing. What in all Halloween was that? It looked like her aunt's house but... wrong somehow.

< It is filled with the delight of another world. > Shibey sounded vaguely disgusted.

"I don't... we don't have to... eat it, do we?" Anna's stomach turned. She liked spookies, but not like THAT. Not since she'd eaten five shingles off her aunt's house in a row as a wee witchlet and gotten sick to her stomach. Anything in a house-like configuration was right out.

TG looked up at Pepin, looked at how she licked her lips at him, and stepped back. Usually he welcomed that hungry look in a ghoul's eyes, but this one looked a bit too ...literal.

He moved just a step closer to Lattice. "Eat the house........not me."

... What the jack was this thing?! And why did it have to show up just when things seemed to be getting interesting? Imryn groaned inwardly, having thought of going to nab a few snacks and return to her lurking corner to continue watching the action when some massive, horrid smelling confection monstrosity came barging in. Just perfect. It had been bad enough that the crowds were making her nervous, but now she was alone in the Maul.

A few quick glances around revealed that any windows or possible exits were being blocked current, so she was just going to have to suck it up and deal. "Never ever going shopping this close to the holiday again..." Imryn grumbled to herself while trying to hunker down behind a potted plant.

"Don't HAS teh eats it??" Freya heard the wary voice from not too far off, and looked at Anna wildly. Her eyes glittered like diamonds. Crazed, insane diamonds.

"Why woulds yeh NOT WANTS TEH! Watch and learn, pretty ghoul, watch. And. Learn."

Freya launched at the Gingerbread House, intent on biting right through it's door.
