It had been a long night, the new litter couldn;t sleep and had spent most of the night pining for their parents. Tahirah fully understood, and she had stayed up with them, curled about them and speaking in soft, reassuring tones to try and get them to sleep, and to avoid them getting too loud and waking the other cubs. Eventually, as dawn broke, they had settled and fallen into an exhausted heap, leaving Tahirah sleepless a she dealt with the older cubs just waking.
One of her colleagues had finally come along after breakfast and taken over from Tahirah, relieving her from her shift. Barely awake enough to stumble down into the valley in order to grab a bite of breakfast, the young nanny had slipped away and made it all the way down to the lake shore before collapsing in a heap of exhaustion herself. She knew she had to go back eventually, but it was nice and peaceful by the water, the warm sun caressing her fur and soothing away the stress of the previous night. Tahirah loved the cubs she cared for, but every so often she just needed to rest for the day.. today was probably going to be one of those days.

Having been staring out across the lake for long enough that her mind had switched off and drifted elsewhere on some fairy tale she had told the cubs recently, the sudden voice close to her ear made the young female squeak rather cubbishly herself and leap into the air. Eyes wide and fur stuck straight up, she stared over at the dark lioness, blinking rapidly as she struggled to breath around her heart which had lodged itself in her throat.
Finally she went bright red as she blushed in embarrassment, but managed to un-lock her legs and shake her fur back down...
"Yaya?" She guessed, having met the other lioness around the pride on the odd occasion but didn't really know her well enough to be casual.. yet. Puffing out a soft breath as her pulse rate finally started to slow, she gave the other female a shy smile. Tahirah herself rarely left the cub den, and while she was an excellent nanny, she had absolutely no confidence once she was outside of the den and away from her young charges.
"... How are you today?" She asked, voice soft and quietly shy, her smile timid but gentle and honest.
