Taking her steps lightly, Hadithi kept her eyes on the ground, a soft smile on her face. She was bouncing a bit as she walked, purposefully placing her paws in specific places on the ground. It may have seemed a bit childish to anyone watching, but it was really just something to pass the time. And these days, Hadithi had way too much of it on her paws. It was a bit embarrassing, really – already grown and still living within her father’s harem. She knew that she wasn’t one of the most attractive or desirable of her siblings, but really? Why was it that she had such dull luck with pads? Part of her knew that some of them were turned away by the darkness in her eyes; literally.
Although both her markings and eyes were dark and dismal, Hadithi herself was quite the opposite. She could be a bit shy, yes, but otherwise she was fairly sweet-natured and even submissive. She was never quite comfortable calling any shots, and very much believed in the ways of her pride.
That’s probably why she had become so frustrated as of late. She was being a pretty poor example of how a good family should be here, what with her still living with her parents and all. She had almost become desperate to find a pad, but she knew she wouldn’t settle for just anyone. She wanted someone to really want her, instead of just having her being shoved off on them. She would never get her hopes up for anything special, like becoming a beybanu, but she still wanted a permanent home, a family.
Letting out a sigh, Hadithi shook her head. This was way too much to be thinking about right now. She didn’t want to ruin her good mood, especially as she caught sight of someone headed in her general direction. His mane was mostly white – it was hard to make out certain details from her distance, but she sort-of recognized his coloring; Hadithi knew of most of the families here and what their general colors were, if not everyone’s faces. Fidgeting on her paws, she tried to ‘normalize’ her appearance, going back to what she was doing, but definitely secretly keeping her eye on the other as she neared him.

Harith let a yawn stretch his jaws wide, not caring if anyone seen it. From a little cub, he had cared about how people seen him. About being as mannerly as he could. Always keeping his appearance acceptable. As an adult, this trait hadn't disappeared. Sometimes, like now, it got momentarily shoved in the back of his mind as more important matters surfaced. Like how tired he felt from all the pacing and shooing of sketchy characters away from the pride's lands. The one who took to hiding themselves like they were awaiting the right moment to strike an ambush. Those types of creatures he didn't trust, even if the pad be was patrolling with wanted to give the individual a chance. During those cases, Harith would always just walk the opposite way to inspect a different area of the borders. If they wanted to risk getting killed over their own stupidity, let it be their problem. It wasn't his fault if you didn't want to listen to his warnings.
Despite this train of thinking, the male did, of course, always keep a sharp ear out for sounds of a struggle. Harith would say one thing in the heat of his irritations, than go around and do the opposite after he had calmed down a little to see reasoning. Being away from home always brought the worse out in him. Everywhere else was just filled with discomforts.
The dark figure approaching him didn't go unnoticed. Out of instinct of spending so much time patrolling, the Pad stiffened, stopping in his tracks to study to body language of the other lion. Not realizing quickly it was just a lioness. His bright blue eyes narrowed, checking for the signs of opposition. Only when he saw none did he notice the sex of the figure. His body relaxed, a sigh escaping his lips as the tension settled into calmness.
He moved his paws to cover the distance between them.
"Evening, miss," he greeted first, as was the custom for males to go forth, but ignoring the custom of using rank when greeting someone unfamiliar. He thought just using Banu would be a bit rude. 'Specially with the way he couldn't help staring at her eyes with his head titled. Such unusual eyes.
