For all her imagination and cleverness, she doesn't think of the consequences much." "She's wild, lazy, undisciplined...but passionate. Determined in what she puts her heart in."
Clowrey is strong-willed and more often than not, very strong-headed; she's never 100% compliant with authorities or rules, and she's not always aware of the possible risks of her actions. It's not just that she's adventurous, but when she feels strongly about a goal she forgets that the journey might not be a pleasant one. She's usually optimistic, but not afraid to be blunt about the truth or people's shortcomings or her own. She's very aware of her faults or how people may think of her, but she tends to just wave it off for the 'greater goal'.
Tends to laugh things off; tries to hide any vulnerabilities she might have. She detests lying and secrets, but may be tempted to back down for a good reason...
For all her rambunctiousness, when Clowrey gets knocked down a few pegs she can take it a bit hard. She questions herself, her ideals, and how far she's gotten in life...But doesn't always seem to learn from them.
There's a part of her that wants desperately to believe in her ideals of heroism that she can get pushy in talking about them to others but it keeps her optimistic. But there's also a part of her that feels like the world is ugly. She reveres the 'truth' above all else, and may even hold it in higher regards than people.
BACKGROUND Home- Tasea Family- Anh Eir[Father], Mae[Older Brother], Linh[Mother; deceased],Corduroy/Toni[Spirit previously vesseled by her]
Backstory- Clowrey lives in a family of three, her Father, her Older Brother, and herself. Her Mother had passed away a little over a decade ago, and so she's lived with just her Father and sibling for most of her life. They owned a Tea Shop, in a small but thriving town by the ocean...Her Father is a man of few words, but an...eccentric passion for tea. Her brother is currently enrolled in a college the next town over.
If she wasn't helping out with chores or takings lessons, Clowrey was usually by herself. However, it is far from the truth to say she lived unhappily. While her dad and brother worked hard and responsibly, she was always...'adventuring'. She had a dream to see and experience the world, but what child doesn't fantasize of that?
Like most children, she was read bedtimes stories. Her favorite were heroic epics, where good always triumphs. As well, like all children who loved those tales...she was inclined to act them out. It wasn't easy for a little girl who was already known to cause trouble, to be taken seriously. It didn't matter, since Clowrey began to take all of it fervently. She began to notice things; people lying and cheating others, trying to cover up their wrongdoings, getting someone else to take the blame...and somehow, that angered young Clowrey in a way no 8-year-old should have to know. She started to actively seek 'villains' out, to right the wrongs and protect the innocent. But...she was never quite received jubilantly. And it wasn't just simple things, either; Justice was being tainted in all sorts of ways, all over the world. Yet everyone else was either ignorant or arrogant about it...and slowly, Clowrey stopped being a 'hero for rectitude'. Instead, she just wanted the truth. But there wasn't much a little kid could do.
When Clowrey was 13 or so, she was snatched up by this old woman who was rumored to be a wicked witch. That was just a tale made up by some kids, who were simply afraid of this old hag that no one really knew...but as it turns out, that story turned out to be rather true. Clowrey had met with this 'witch' several times before, and inexplicably the shrew always seemed out to get her. People always said this baseless hate was just in the child's mind...But that turned out to be true as well...
This 'witch', who borrowed her powers from a ghost-turned-wicked spirit, intended to kill Clowrey that night. However, the hag lost control of her powers and instead ending up destroying herself...but not without causing a good deal of damage to Clowrey first. The spirit had lost his tie to the mortal realm, and now hung aimlessly about...but was visible to the girl now close to death: "Humans...are such despicable creatures. Always lying, always cheating. So easily swayed when they get some power. So ready to kill. Foolish beings... How silly it is to think I'm the evil one." And Clowrey looked into his shadowed features, and replied with a sort of challenge: "That isn't the truth."
They made a deal that night. In return for housing him so that he may stay on this place, Clowrey would be saved and unlock supernatural abilities to call her own. Clowrey obtained her own powers through this contract and would later look determinedly into her future at Sidekick Academy.
The Spirit, whom she called 'Corduroy', was far mellower than she had expected. He was content with just being around, trying to make sense of how and why Humans did what they do...and often had deep conversations with the young girl. Clowrey has a scar from that day, reaching from her left shoulder, down her front, and curling around her hip.
After a run-in with a voodoo-based villain who could see spirits, Clowrey learned why the old 'with' had wanted so desperately to kill her and the truth behind 'Corduroy' or 'Toni as he was back when he was alive and human. Toni has been killed in a raid decades ago and failed to protect his little sister. Consumed by anger, he became a ghost unable to pass on. And later, a spirit that could make contracts with humans to ensure his own safety. He had happen to see young Clowrey by chance one day and was convinced that she was his sister brought back. He persuaded and lied to the woman who was currently housing him, a Mudang, and poisoned her mind into thinking that Clowrey had to be killed. However, during the ritual, Toni was struck with a moment with clarity and guilt; this wasn't his sister and he was going to cause her death. At the last moment, he forced the Mudang to turn the blade to herself and...the rest was history.
The battle with the villain was won, but not without harsh words being exchanged and the physical bond between the two getting severed by the villain. Clowrey managed to see Toni one last time, who was now reverted back to a regular ghost and ready to pass on. They said their tearful good-byes.

HEROINE INFO Name - Shroud Rank - Sidekick
Reason for Powers - Spiritual/Magical Contract Powers - Smoke Manipulation Incense, smog, the black smoke fuming from that truck's exhaust pipe...They're perhaps 'smelly' and 'irritating', but you wouldn't notice if the mass was subtly following you, surrounding you and thickening until you couldn't see your hand right in front of you face...not until it was too late.
She has control over smoke, plainly said. Clowrey can inhale any sort of "polluted" smoke and then exhale it for use, or store it for later. Only after she has devoured it, can she control smoke. Thus far, she has found no limit to how much smoke she can store inside her body, but has learned the hard way she can't swallow everything. Especially not anything immediately corrosive. Living close to the mining towns in South Tasea and other things, Clowrey has been exposed to plenty of substances and seems to have no short of long-lasting after effects from being exposed or swallowing them.
As she exhales, she can manipulate the thickness and how much of her smoke is released to accommodate different situations. While she needs to inhale smoke to use it, she can release through her mouth or finger tips.
Extension of Herself She can form objects with her smoke, such as a rope or baseball bat. They are as solid as the real thing, as long as Clowrey doesn't lose concentration and keeps a hold on the item. Swords are pointless--She can make the shape, but it'll have no edge. As well, she can make armor like gauntlets and such.
She can also control her smoke as a simple mass, like extra long arms that can grab things.
After use or getting destroyed, the smoke will usually just disappear into Eco-friendly harmless nothingness that she can't reabsorb. She will begin to weaken after using a lot of smoke, for a long time, or if the more physical masses gets destroyed. It takes energy to make it more 'physical', and getting it destroyed just makes the process more painful for her.
Abilities- ± Enhanced Senses Save for her sense of touch and taste. . .and hearing, her heightened sensitivities are some of her most important assets(For Survival, she won't mention). Though unaffected during the day, when darkness falls or some sinister cover is cast, her night-vision becomes as piercing as a jungle cat's. It's nigh arguable that her eyesight in the dark is superior over her usual 20/20(Depending on the day's brightness...). It's questionable how useful it is but Clowrey's sense of smell has also been heightened--selectively. Certain qualities of a smell are more noticeable to her than others. Although she can't possibly know the exact ingredients, whether it's a 'bitter' or 'sour' sort can help notify her to dangers or poisonous gases
ASPIRATIONS Why Enter Academy - It was the opportunity to develop her powers and get immersed into the worlds of 'heroes' she'd always dreamed in. It was the place and time she hoped she could prove herself.
It's hard to define what part of it all is selfish or pride, or true need.
Desired Achievements - To control and develop her Powers To gain more skills Affirm and strengthen her desire for truth in the world.

STRENGTHS / SKILLS Stealth and Sneakiness Maybe she's a crappy scraper, but if she wants to stay out of sight and reach, you can bet your bottom dollar it'll be hard to catch her! She's got an eye for the best hiding spots and being the quietest mouse. Whether hiding or trying to uncover something...Clowrey will try most any means to do so, and they're usually rather creative.
2nd Set of Eyes Although Corduroy can't touch anything, has any of his powers...Generally, can't do anything but talk and appear only to Clowrey, he can still see things. While he can't sense any dangers, if he spots something first, he'll be sure to tell Clowrey. Corduroy isn't around anymore.
Limber Clowrey is very agile and limber thanks to training from when she was young...and jumping around and getting hurt anyway when she wasn't. Her agility helps with being sneaky and running away/getting to hard to reach places.
Physical Training Prior to training at SA, she was among many kids in Tasea that had martial arts lessons to some degree. Although Clowrey only takes the defensive and works to re-direct and evade blows rather than fight back, she's good at what she does. She depends on wearing the opponent out or using their own strength against them. She's very crude if she has to take a direct offensive.
Sleuthing Holding 'the truth' to such a high regard as she does, and being so stealthy, Clowrey has learned a few 'detective-like' tricks. Among them she's learned how to tell a tell, the importance of finger prints, and where you're more likely to keep important documents, etc.
WEAKNESSES Wind As stupid as it sounds...her smoke is not immune to windy gales. Like any smog, one good blow will send it on its way; her smoke is slightly more resilient but Clowrey is, more or less, screwed when faced off against a powerful wind user. Or a tornado.
She requires a great deal of concentration to keep her physical objects physical...if she has the chance to get them physical in the first place.
Deadly Smogs There are some types of smog she can't use...mostly because they'd hurt her before she could even try. For example, toxic gases that starts corroding everything it touches or meant to kill those who breathe it in...She simply can't get close to them. Clowrey also has issues with chloroform gas, but for a...less dangerous reason(it's like alcohol to her).
Residue Everyone has their limits and their breaking points, but for Clowrey it can manifests physically. When she gets weary, suffers too many wounds, is being horribly psyched out, or even is just wracked by a horrible 105 degree fever...her smoke converts into a tar-like...goo and seems to take on a slightly sentient force. A mindless, one-track, violent force...'It' won't listen to Clowrey and continuous drains her strength as it wreaks what havoc it can. Thankfully, the tar leeches so much energy so quickly that it dissipates swiftly. That doesn't leave Clowrey with much help though...
Offensively Challenged Her reflexes and reactions are swift...Her defense is steady, but she will not throw the first punch. Her physical strength is rather average and she's...just not that great a fighter. Instead, she follows the 'you can't lose if you're never hit' law.
Culinary Palette For the last few years now, since she obtained her powers...everything tastes like ashes to her. No matter how spicy, how flavorful, or even how disgusting, Clowrey will taste only a sort of cigar-y dust. Needless to say, she's not likely to learn any new recipes beyond PB&J or melting chocolate(basically anything that requires real work). And although it all tastes like ashes, that doesn't excludes her stomach getting sick if the food's spoiled.
Light Sensitivity Ever since receiving her powers, sunlight seems to irk her--Even when she wears sunglasses, the daytime always seems a little too bright. It's irritating and causes her to bump into things. Since it would freak people out if she 'blackened' her eyes, she just wears transition 'glasses'.
