As you can see it has:

x Ferelden

x Nevarra
x Free Marches
x Antiva
x Tevinter Imperium
x Anderfels
x Seheron
x Rivain
x Par Vollen

NOTE:
Your character can be in any place of the world,
For example, If we dont have a thread for Orlais and you want to be there, you just need to ask. If you want to create a tavern in there, you just do it, you dont need permission to do it.

The world is yours to be created.

Antiva is a nation in north eastern Thedas. Its capital is Antiva City, which lies on the middle of its coastline. The nation is ruled by a collection of merchant princes such as heads of banks, trading companies, and vineyards.

As Antiva is well-known to be good at everything but fighting, it is ironic that the world's deadliest assassins, the Crows of Antiva, originate here. No general would be mad enough to lead an attack on the Antivan borders, for while they would surely succeed due to the fact Antiva has no standing army, the general would likely be assassinated by the Crows.

Women have strictly defined roles in Antiva. They are considered pure and delicate and not allowed to participate in combat, among other things.

Cities

* Antiva City - Capital
* Rialto
* Seleny
* Treviso

Regions

* The Drylands
* Rialto Bay
* Tellari Swamps
* The Weyrs

Real World Counterpart: Antivans, particularly Zevran, speak with a strong Spanish accent. On the other hand, Antivan society is a fictionalized version of a medieval Italian city-state like Venice.

Its dark-skinned humans, the Rivaini, have a peaceful relationship with the elves. The city of Llomerryn is known to have a semi-permanent Dalish encampment on its outskirts. The qunari settlement of Kont-aar is in northern Rivain.

Unlike the majority of peoples in Thedas, the Rivaini are not Andrastians and don't believe in the Maker. Rather, they are pantheists who believe in the Natural Order. Many, especially in Kont-aar, have also converted to the Qun, as their religion and the Qun are not very contradictory. Although there are prohibitions on magic, seers are revered as a matter of tradition. These local hedge witches converse with spirits and even allow themselves to be possessed, though it is supposedly done so for the benefit of their villages.

Social standing in Rivain is often marked by tattoos and body piercings. The more elaborate one's decorations, the higher one's rank.

Cities

* Ayesleigh
* Dairsmuid (Capital)
* Kont-aar
* Llomerryn

Real World Counterpart: Unlike the other nations of Thedas, Rivain seems to have less of a clear real world allegory. Possible inspirations include Sicily, Greece, and Lebanon. Small nations that have been crossroads for multiple cultures in history.

Seheron is the western Qunari island.
While the Qunari have a firm grip on Par Vollen, their control of Seheron has been in dispute since they claimed Seheron from the Tevinter Imperium sixty years ago.

Many elven slaves in Seheron have willingly converted to the Qun and now hold office within Qunari ranks and anti-Tevinter sentiment even among the humans runs high.

Cities

* Seheron
* Alam

Real World Counterpart: This is pure conjecture on my part, but it seems to me that the best real world counterpart to Seheron would be Israel, since it is currently the center of religious war, and was once part of the Tevinter Imperium, which is analogous to Ancient Rome, which had conquered Israel

Par Vollen is an island home of the qunari. It is a tropical island chain, which is covered mostly by rainforest, and located far north of Ferelden beyond Rivain. A sentient race called the Fex has inhabited this island since before the qunari arrived.

City

* Qunandar

Real World Counterpart: None

Nevarra is a nation in central Thedas, west of the Free Marches, south of the Tevinter Imperium and north-east of Orlais. It was originally one of the larger Free Marches city states, but has aggressively expanded over the last two centuries to become a power to rival Orlais.

The whole country is filled with artistry, from the statues of heroes that litter the streets in even the meanest villages to the glittering golden College of Magi in Cumberland.
Perhaps nowhere is more astonishing than the vast necropolis outside Nevarra City.

Cities

* Andoral's Reach: A city near the Blasted Hills, recently taken from the Orlesians.
* Cumberland: A city on the Waking Sea, giving it access to trade with the rest of the Free Marches and beyond. Over the last century, Cumberland has taken advantage of this to expand into one of the largest on Thedas.[3]
* Nevarra City: The capital city of Nevarra is also called Nevarra, and is located in the middle of the nation.
* Perendale: A city near the Blasted Hills, recently taken from the Orlesians.

Regions

* Minanter River
* The Blasted Hills
* The Silent Plains

Real World Counterpart: None, though their burial rituals are very similar to the Ancient Egyptians.

The Free Marches is a collective name given to the group of city-states situated in eastern Thedas, south of Antiva and the Tevinter Imperium, east of Nevarra, and north of Ferelden. The three real cities with any semblance of power in the Free Marches are Kirkwall, Starkhaven and Tantervale, each having a leader with a title and having the special right to named a Champion of the city.

Cities

* Hercinia
* Kirkwall
* Markham
* Ostwick
* Starkhaven
* Tantervale
* Wycome
* Kaiten

Regions

* Bone Pit
* Green Dales
* Minanter River
* Planasene Forest
* Sundermount
* The Wounded Coast
* Vimmark Mountains

Real World Counterpart: None, though the accents used are generally more Welsh/Irish than the Fereldan British, and many Marchers are born of foreigners. Stroud, the Grey Warden, is a Marcher who speaks with an Orlesian Accent. (Shares the same voice actor as Hubert, the Orlesian business man and Riordan, the Orlesian Warden in Origins.)

The Anderfels is a human nation in northern Thedas. It is located far northwest from the more familiar Ferelden, beyond Nevarra and the Tevinter Imperium. The Anderfels is best known for being the birthplace of the Grey Wardens and the site of their headquarters, the Weisshaupt Fortress.

The Anderfels are a land of shocking extremes. It is the most desolate place in all the world, for two Blights have left great expanses of the steppes so completely devoid of life that corpses cannot even decay there--no insect or grub will ever reach them.

Cities

* Hossberg - Capital
* Kassel
* Nordbotten
* Weisshaupt

Regions

* The Blightlands
* The Lattenfluss
* The Merdaine

Real World Counterpart: The Anderfels appear to be very loosely based on the real-world Holy Roman Empire, which was the medieval German state. Writer David Gaider has stated that the Anderfels are "German in character, maybe a bit more on the Visigoth side." Presumably, characters from the Anderfels would speak with German accents. Of course, the State of the Teutonic Order, a state to the northeast of modern-day Germany and Poland, ruled by the Order of the Teutonic Knights, a crusading military order, comes to mind.
The Anderfels also bear a resemblance to medieval Russia and Mongolia with their hardened warriors and vast steppes.

The climate of Ferelden appears to be temperate, and Ferelden along with Thedas itself is located in the southern hemisphere.
It also smell like wet dogs.

Cities

* Alamar
* Amaranthine
* Denerim
* Haven
* Gwaren
* Highever
* Honnleath
* Lothering
* Orzammar
* Redcliffe

Regions

* Amaranthine
o Blackmarsh
o Dragonbone Wastes
o Knotwood Hills
o Wending Wood
* Bann Loren's Lands
* Blightlands
* Brandel's Reach
* Brecilian Forest
* Dragon's Peak
* Frostback Mountains
o Gherlen's Pass
o Sulcher's Pass
* The Hinterlands
* Korcari Wilds
o Ostagar
* Lake Calenhad
* Soldier's Peak

Real World Counterpart: Ferelden is loosely based on the real-world medieval Britain. Human characters from Ferelden speak with a distinctive English accent. More specifically, Ferelden seems to be heavily based on the culture of the Anglo-Saxons, with a great deal Norse influence as well. Ferelden’s occupation by the Orlesian Empire furthers the comparison to medieval Europe. Specifically, the Anglo-Saxon themed Ferelden being conquered by the French themed Orlais seems to be based off on William the Conqueror’s invasion of England in 1066. Unlike Anglo-Saxon England, however, Orlais was driven out of Ferelden. Ferelden is essentially what England would have been like if the Saxons had ousted their Norman conquerors in around AD 1200, a few generations after conquest, like Ferelden repelled Orlais. The developers have specifically compared Ferelden to England in "AD 1200" for this reason.

The Tevinter Imperium is a nation in Thedas ruled by a powerful magocracy. The leaders of the Imperium are called magisters, and are led by the Imperial Archon.
The Tevinter Imperium worshipped the Old Gods, supposedly from whom the magisters learned magic.
The Tevinter Imperium suffered the brunt of the First Blight and was subsequently toppled in an invasion by southern barbarians led by the prophetess Andraste; it is now only a shadow of its former self in both size and power.

Cities

* Asariel
* Carastes
* Marnus Pell
* Marothius
* Minrathous - Capital
* Neromenian
* Perivantium
* Vol Dorma
* Vyrantium

Regions

* Eyes of Nocen
* The High Reaches
* The Hundred Pillars
* The Silent Plains
* Valarian Fields

Real World Counterpart: Writer David Gaider has stated that the Tevinter Imperium is loosely based on the real-world Roman Empire, especially in its later Byzantine period. They share a number of similarities:The Roman Empire executed Christ prophet for causing dissent in the same fashion as the Tevinter Imperium executed Andraste, both the Roman and Tevinter Empires would later adopt their respective prophets teachings; as with the Byzantine and Roman Catholic wings of Christianity excommunicating each other, the Tevinter and Orlaisian Chantries are in conflict with one another; Tevinter had several Exalted Marches called against it, just as the Byzantine Empire faced its own Crusades. Also, like the Roman Empire, the Imperium built many vast road networks and aqueducts. An example of this is the Imperial Highway seen in Dragon Age: Origins. Finally, Tevinter is standing alone against the Qunari, just as the Byzantine Empire fought alone for almost five centuries against the Seljuks first, and later the Ottomans.

Orlais, or the Orlesian Empire, is one of the most powerful nations in Thedas. Val Royeaux is the capital of Orlais, and home to the Chantry. Ambitious and wealthy Orlais is the most powerful single human nation in Thedas. Under its current ruler, Empress Celene I, Orlais has a large aristocracy famed for its culture and extravagance.

Aristocratic society is vicious and marked by fawning envy to the powerful. Orlesian Nobles often entertain bards in their courts despite their roles as spies, assassins and saboteurs for their employers.

Cities

* Arlesans
* Churneau
* Ghislain
* Halamshiral - Former capital of the Dalish Elves
* Jader - Nearest major Orlesian city to Ferelden
* Lydes
* Mont-de-glace
* Montfort
* Montsimmard - Home of the Orlesian Circle of Magi
* Val Chevin
* Val Firmin
* Val Foret
* Val Royeaux - Capital
* Verchiel

Regions

* Deauvin Flats
* Gamordan Peaks
* Lake Celestine
* Nahashin Marshes
* The Abyssal Reach
* The Arbor Wilds
* The Dales
* The Heartlands
* The Western Approach

Real World Counterpart: Orlais is loosely based on the real-world nation of France (note how it's name is similar to Orleans). More closely, however, it is a likely evocative of Norman England, given its occupation of Ferelden, a country inspired by Saxon England, just as the historical Normans conquered the Saxons during 1066. It is also interesting note that Orlesian toponyms include French words, such as the ancient val meaning "valley", mont, meaning "mount", and so on. Moreover, Orlesian characters speak with a French accent, and their knights are referred to as chevaliers.
