Halfbreeds and Crossbreeds
General Information

What is a halfbreed?
A halfbreed is a Soquili with regular traits mixed with any other breed without regular traits. They possess some but not all of the characteristics of the non-regular breed. (example: A Uni with regular hooves and tail would be a halfbreed. A UniKalona with a regular tail and hooves is a Half-breed Hybrid) Power wise they are often indistinguishable from their pure blooded counterparts (though sometimes weaker) unless they lack the physical trait necessary for the ability - (i.e. an Angeni halfbreed with no wings wouldn't be able to fly, a Uni halfbreed with no horn can't heal.)

What is a crossbreed?
A crossbreed is a soquili possessing traits of at least two different non-regular breeds. (example: a uni/wind cross with wind wings and a uni tail is a crossbreed) Crossbreeds tend to have weaker versions of each breeds powers. There are some cases in which the blood does not mix well leaving the crossbreed powerless. In cases where a certain trait is required for an ability that trait must be present in order to use it. (example: a uni needs it’s horn to heal)

Non-visible traits in a crossbreed.
In some breeds there are traits that are not outwardly apparent such as a wind’s light bones. These traits may be passed down as the owner chooses. (examples: light bones from winged species or smaller bone structures from smaller breeds) However, if a flying breed mates with a grounded breed their bones will never be as light as a pure flying breed.

More than two breeds crossed in breedings.
When more than two breeds have been crossed through a breeding only take note of the visible traits on the soquili for powers. If a uni-kalona and flutter are crossed and the child takes on flutter wings and a kalona tail and horns it would not have any powers from its uni heritage.
Non-visible traits may still be passed down at the owner’s logical discretion.

Crossbreed Exceptions

Skinwalkers
Skinwalkers cannot truly be a cross. Any breed, excepting Angeni, usdia and seathi, can become a skinwalker. A pure skinwalker cannot have traits of another breed and a cursed skinwalker will lose all magical abilities they had before cursing. (examples: a uni would be unable to heal, a kalona would be unable to use their black magic and a kirin would be unable to walk on water) The exceptions to this would be physical abilities. (examples: a cursed wind walker would still be able to fly and a cursed kelpi would still be able to stay under water for extended periods of time)

Mers
A mer soquili may only ever be crossed with a kelpi and Kelpi-predominant hybrids. These offspring will be able to stay underwater longer than a regular kelpi but shorter than a mer soquili. They will also have a blended swimming capability.

Usdia and Seathi
Usdia and seathi are unable to be crossed with each other except in the cases of Nixies and Seathi. Seathi and Nixies are able to reproduce with one another, but only if the Nixie is pure or harbors predominant Nixie traits.

Cerynei Crosses

Cerynei/Wind
A cerynei/wind cross would be capable of some flight. They would tire more easily and have to work harder to keep their denser bones aloft. On the ground, even without wings, this cross would be a superb jumper thanks to the lighter bones than normal cerynei.
Cerynei/Uni
A cerynei/uni cross would only inherit powers from a uni provided they were born with a uni’s horn. With that horn they’d be able to use a lesser form of healing.
Cerynei/Kirin
A cross between these two types often results in a child that is very in tune with nature. They are often graceful and good jumpers. With a kirin’s horn the may learn acupressure though their skills won’t measure up to a regular kirin. Like most kirin crosses kirinei may move across the water with a good deal of concentration though they may not stand still.
Cerynei/Flutter
The natural crossbreed. Flutter/cerynei crosses are often most in tune with nature. They love the trees and flowers and all plant life. They often inherit a flutter’s small size made smaller still by the cerynei’s slight builds. They are capable of flying only when shrunk down and only for a short time.
Cerynei/Kelpi
A kelpi is a creature of the seas and a cerynei of the trees. A cross of the two may find itself torn between the sea and forest. With the tail of a kelpi it would possess superb swimming abilities though while they may stay under longer than a cerynei they have to surface more frequently for air than a kelpi.
Cerynei/Kalona
A kalona/cerynei cross would have limited access to a kalona’s powers. Flight would be a possibility with wings but they would not be able to soar as high and would expend more energy in doing so. Without wings they would be excellent jumpers.
Cerynei/Angeni
These types gain no real abilities. With wings they will have potential for flight without they are likely to become impressive leapers. They have no holy light ability and no domain though they may adopt a special bond with the forests due to their cerynei blood.

Uni Crosses

Uni/Cerynei
A cerynei/uni cross would only inherit powers from a uni provided they were born with a uni’s horn. With that horn they’d be able to use a lesser form of healing.
Uni/Wind
A uni/wind mix, also known as an alicorn, is capable of flying for short periods of time do to their heavier bones. With the horn of a uni they are also capable of a bit of healing though it will not be as potent as a uni’s.
Uni/Kirin
These two breeds are so closely related that their powers weave together quite nicely. No matter which horn this crossbreed possesses it will be able to both heal and use acupressure to a smaller degree than the pure counterparts. (Those with uni horns would need to be more careful with how much force they use however.) With intense concentration they may even run across water.
Uni/Flutter
Also known as a fluttercorn. These make a good cross. They are often a bit smaller in size than regular soquili and lighter. They are capable of changing sizes for a short amount of time and may fly for a brief period in their small sizes. They are capable of a small amount of healing with a horn.
Uni/Kelpi
This cross would result in halved powers potentially available from each parent. It would be more adept on land than in water. With the tail of a kelpi parent it would be able to swim better than a land bound species but it would be unable to stay underwater as long. With a uni’s horn it would be capable of mild healing powers.
Uni/Kalona
A very kind nature blended with a very evil one tends to be crazy - with dramatic mood swings. Some unikalona have such extreme internal conflicts with their two selves that they develop split personalities. At best they tend to be unstable and unpredictable. If they give into their darker side, these crossbreeds lose any abilities associated with their uni. If they sway to their good side they lose all powers associated with kalona. They may not have powers from both if they have any at all.
Uni/Angeni
A highly compatible cross. An angeni/uni cross is the only type of crossbreed that may have a domain though they will still be unable to use the holy light power. This breed is capable of mild healing with some training and may even fly. (An angenicorn must have all the angeni wings in order to have a domain.)

Kirin Crosses

Kirin/Cerynei
A cross between these two types often results in a child that is very in tune with nature. They are often graceful and good jumpers. With a kirin’s horn the may learn acupressure though their skills won’t measure up to a regular kirin. Like most kirin crosses kirinei may move across the water with a good deal of concentration though they may not stand still.
Kirin/Wind
A wind/kirin cross would be capable of flight though they cannot sore as high and expend more energy faster. With a kirin’s horn they may be capable of using acupressure though it will not be as effective as a pure kirin’s. With strong concentration they may walk across water though they will sink should they stop moving.
Kirin/Uni
These two breeds are so closely related that their powers weave together quite nicely. No matter which horn this crossbreed possesses it will be able to both heal and use acupressure to a smaller degree than the pure counterparts. (Those with uni horns would need to be more careful with how much force they use however.) With intense concentration they may even run across water.
Kirin/Flutter
A flutter/kirin cross is uncommon. The cross would have abilities of both parents. It would be able to shrink down and fly for a short time and would be able to use acupressure with a horn present.
Kirin/Kelpi
A kelpi/kirin cross would be able to move both on top of the water with some concentration and under it with relative ease (with a kelpi tail) despite needing to surface more frequently. It would have a much easier time moving about on land than a normal especially if it inherits a kirin’s scales that serve to protect a kelpi’s skin better. With a lot of study a kirin/kelpi cross may even be able to successfully use a kirin’s acupressure ability.
Kirin/Kalona
Like unikalona, kalonarin tend to be unstable mentally. They may have random mood swings or split personalities even. Like unikalona they can only have powers from one side, not both, and this is only if they are stable enough to take a side. Another problem is posed with this cross; a violent mood swing resulting in bloodshed may leave them feeling weak.
Kirin/Angeni
A fairly compatible match. This cross would have limited flight available should they receive wings. A kirin/angeni cross would be able to use a kirin’s acupressure with little difficulty but may struggle to walk on water.

Flutter Crosses

Flutter/Cerynei
The natural crossbreed. Flutter/cerynei crosses are often most in tune with nature. They love the trees and flowers and all plant life. They often inherit a flutter’s small size made smaller still by the cerynei’s slight builds. They are capable of flying only when shrunk down and only for a short time.
Flutter/Wind
An EXTREMELY rare mix (at least currently). Usually a wind and flutter will produce a wind or flutter child though the children may take on the smaller stature of a flutter. However on rare occasions, a child might develop a strange combination of the two wings into one set, with a feathery bone structure from which the insect like wings are attached to. These true 'mixes' are incapable of shrinking like the flutter parent, and cannot fly as high as their ancestors, but are considered it to be a good omen for one to be born.
Flutter/Uni
Also known as a fluttercorn. These make a good cross. They are often a bit smaller in size than regular soquili and lighter. They are capable of changing sizes for a short amount of time and may fly for a brief period in their small sizes. They are capable of a small amount of healing with a horn.
Flutter/Kirin
A flutter/kirin cross is uncommon. The cross would have abilities of both parents. It would be able to shrink down and fly for a short time and would be able to use acupressure with a horn present.
Flutter/Kelpi
A sad mix if ever there was one. A kelpi/flutter will find itself unable to fly. Living in the water primarily would saturate the flutter wings rendering them useless. Even if they were able to keep their wings dry a kelpi’s heavy tail would way them down too much to fly even shrunk down into their smallest size.
Flutter/Kalona
A flutter/kalona cross is often more violent than and other flutter mix. They tend to be carnivorous and may enjoy playing harmful pranks. They are mostly able to fly at their normal size thanks to the kalona’s flyer blood. If they have a kalona’s tail they may need to shrink down until it is light enough for their wings to support.
Flutter/Angeni
While they are not a highly compatible match they are not incompatible either. They will have the light bones of a flyer and the smaller structure of a flutter. They would be able to size-shift to some extent but would have a hard time holding forms. They would not be able to posses a domain or wield the holy light powers of an angeni.

Wind Crosses

Wind/Cerynei
A cerynei/wind cross would be capable of some flight. They would tire more easily and have to work harder to keep their denser bones aloft. On the ground, even without wings, this cross would be a superb jumper thanks to the lighter bones than normal cerynei.
Wind/Uni
A uni/wind mix, also known as an alicorn, is capable of flying for short periods of time do to their heavier bones. With the horn of a uni they are also capable of a bit of healing though it will not be as potent as a uni’s.
Wind/Kirin
A wind/kirin cross would be capable of flight though they cannot sore as high and expend more energy faster. With a kirin’s horn they may be capable of using acupressure though it will not be as effective as a pure kirin’s. With strong concentration they may walk across water though they will sink should they stop moving.
Wind/Flutter
An EXTREMELY rare mix (at least currently). Usually a wind and flutter will produce a wind or flutter child though the children may take on the smaller stature of a flutter. However on rare occasions, a child might develop a strange combination of the two wings into one set, with a feathery bone structure from which the insect like wings are attached to. These true 'mixes' are incapable of shrinking like the flutter parent, and cannot fly as high as their ancestors, but are considered it to be a good omen for one to be born.
Wind/Kelpi
A cross of the sky and sea is unfortunate indeed. A kelpi’s tail would weigh too much for a wind’s wings to carry. If the tail was not present than this cross would only be able to achieve flight for short periods of time before needing to seek out water to keep their skin from completely drying out. Additionally they would need to dry there wings before flying at all. Under the water a kelpi/wind may utilize their wings like an aquatic bird for better swimming.
Wind/Kalona
A wind/kalona cross will be able to fly regularly like either breed. They tend to be more violent in nature and will have weaker kalona powers available to them.
Wind/Angeni
Another highly compatible cross. A wind/angeni does not gain any special powers and they do lose their domain and holy light but their flying skills are superb. This cross is very likely to spend most of their time riding the winds.

Angeni Crosses

Angeni/Cerynei
These types gain no real abilities. With wings they will have potential for flight without they are likely to become impressive leapers. They have no holy light ability and no domain though they may adopt a special bond with the forests due to their cerynei blood.
Angeni/Wind
Another highly compatible cross. A wind/angeni does not gain any special powers and they will have no domain or holy light but their flying skills would surpass a regular winds ability. This cross is very likely to spend most of their time riding the winds.
Angeni/Uni
A highly compatible cross. An angeni/uni cross is the only type of crossbreed that may have a domain though they will still be unable to use the holy light power. This breed is capable of mild healing with some training and may even fly. (An angenicorn must have all the angeni wings in order to have a domain.)
Angeni/Kirin
This cross would have limited flight available should they receive wings. A kirin/angeni cross would be able to use a kirin’s acupressure with little difficulty but may struggle to walk on water.
Angeni/Flutter
While they are not a highly compatible match they are not incompatible either. They will have the light bones of a flyer and the smaller structure of a flutter. They would be able to size-shift to some extent but would have a hard time holding forms. They would not be able to posses a domain or wield the holy light powers of an angeni.
Angeni/Kelpi
The wings of an angeni could be utilized for swimming like a water bird but flying would be difficult. While they would be capable of flight they would need to first dry their wings before take off and would have to visit water more frequently after spending time in the skies. Should the angeni inherit a kelpi tail flight would be made impossible due to the weight. Overall they’d be better suited for life in the seas.
Angeni/Kalona
A highly incompatible match. Their opposing natures make this combination rare. Like unikalona their mental state tends to be highly unstable. They will switch back and forth for the most part but unlike unikalona even if they should lean more to one side they will remain powerless. No angeni/kalona mix will have any powers excepting flight.

Kalona Crosses

Kalona/Cerynei

They are mostly able to fly at their normal size thanks to the kalona’s flyer blood. If they have a kalona’s tail they may need to shrink down until it is light enough for their wings to support.
Kalona/Kelpi
This cross can make very dangerous predators. While they cannot fly without drying out their skin they can use their wings even when wet and may sneak attack pray from beneath the waves. They are better equipped for spending time on land especially if they have a kalona’s tail but they may still stay under water for extended periods of time.
Kalona/Angeni
A highly incompatible match. Their opposing natures make this combination rare. Like unikalona their mental state tends to be highly unstable.
