We had a guy come work on the small elevator yesterday (I think to work on the panels inside it) and ever since he's left, the elevator keeps making a beeping noise. I haven't been able to determine why it's doing it or if it does the noise at certain times (i.e. reaches a floor, a call button is pushed, etc.). The beep has long pauses in between, so it's not too annoying... at least at first. After hearing it for several hours and it being a loud beep, it starts to get annoying.

Trying to think of what I can do for the rest of my shift today. The only thing I have left is to remind residents of their appointments for tomorrow. I usually do that in the afternoon when everyone is usually back from church and morning activities. Besides that I've done everything.

I even organized and clean one of the cabinets that was looking a bit messy. I had to take care of some... it looked like mold (?)... that was forming on the one shelf where it must have gotten wet or something. Now it smells a bit like vinegar after I used some to clean it with. I tried using some other cleaner stuff and one of our lemon-scented colorox wipes to take care of the smell... but I think it didn't help. Just makes it smell like lemon-scented vinegar now. xd

Essentially what happens for me on these slow days. I usually find myself playing numerous games of Solitare or randomly surfing the internet... but from the other side of the desk, it looks like I'm hard at work, lol.

Apparently someone took off with the remote for the living room TV. It had been chained to one of the coffee tables. But now the remote is gone but the chain it had been attached to is still there. *sighs*

Everyone keeps asking me what the beeping noise is. Just the elevator. If I knew how to turn it off, I would. But unfortunately I don't know what the guy did yesterday to make it go off when he had been working. So I won't be able to turn it back off.

The residents will just have to deal with the sound for the rest of the day until tomorrow when the elevator guys come and finish up whatever work they've been doing.

P.S. Apparently the remote is no longer missing. I went to go and see if I could find it hidden somewhere in the living room (since a majority of the residents are in the dining room eating lunch). There laying on the couch with remote in hand was one of the residents. So, mystery solved. rolleyes
