I havent been unfairyly banned.
But I wanna discuss what kind of research goes ito these banning things.
I mean, like I said, a lot of people have been unfairyly banned and are never given accounts back x.x

I hope you have that moment fo your time? I wanna get facts straight and all.

I cannot share any information with you in regards to any personal cases.

I can only tell you that a lot of work goes into each ban. The mods are all very careful and thorough.

But there are so many...SO SO SO MANY reports of unfair bannings. Forums of it, friends of people who have it, guilds of it, you dont have to tell me anything personal, but like..
what do they do as research?

I will not be sharing any of that information with you.

but I will tell you that what people say is not often the truth wink

Also
I would like to point out a cuple of experiences Iknow.

Angel of darkness.
ot a gift from trade from a guy, penguin slippers.
Banned, unfairly as she says, yes, she can lie
but she also said "I would happily give my slippers away just to have my account back!"
And she loved those slippers like anything. x.x

Rekin Wolfblade.

A close friend of mine. I actually KNEW all the treades and gifts he was receiving. He even let me check out his account form time to time to dress his avatar up all cool cause he thought I was good at it. Anyway.
His gifts were form one girl, who got her stuff form the cash shop, or earned it.
Or from me.
He was banned because of a questionable ama no tamago.
Which I gave him.
which I got from a friend.
Who bought it form the cash shop.
That fair to you? Discuss.

Yeah, they seem to try to triangulate things like transactions, and are probably under the assumption that they're all the same people with different accounts, but are trying to move the botted item (IF it's a botted item. The only way I know you can get those is accidently through the marketplace...) to keep from getting caught. Which doesn't make much sense, but that's what it sounds like.

Of course people get unfairly banned.

Of course they're going to tell you otherwise. They're a business. For all we know, there IS no formula or careful examining of accounts.

Eh. That person is just a site mod anyways.

They're nothing but the lap dogs of Gaia. They're just going to give you that same damn response.

Sad but true. You should have tried an admin. They tend to be a tad more honest.

Not completely honest, but still a tad more honest.

And if it's not unfair bannings, it's unfair "investigations".

See, that's why if I HAVE to have one of the more expensive CS items, I buy it myself.

Except for RIGs. Never again. XP

Right. They can't share information about personal cases.

They can, however, create an entire thread devoted to the banning of "stupid" users (the "Darwin Awards" thread) and make an announcement directing everyone's attention to it...

*cough* *cough* March 10th 2008. *cough* *cough* <- A lot of my fishing buddies left Gaia after that.
*cough* *cough* Epic towns banning sometime in April 2009. *cough* *cough*

On another note...wouldn't an unfair investigation ultimately result in an unfair ban? ninja

Well, I guess "the ends justify the means"...*rolls eyes*

And OTL, I lawl'd at that. That is true, neh? They shoot themselves in the foot many times over...but take it to an admin and maybe you'll get something from them....Maybe.

there is always a clear examination of the records in which an items transfer is put through. That I know for sure being as Ive known and talked with a few of the mods for Gaiaonline and I am a mod on Perfect World. It has been my job to ensure that we don't have an overflow of random memory on the server's. I have to wipe thousands and thousands of bytes of items history and previous owners history or else it all builds up and lags the heck out of the server causing it to overflow and crash. I can't find a feasible way that Gaiaonline can keep:

1. all the profiles
2. all the items (including multiple poses and forms)
3. all the item history data.
4. and then still be able to keep there website from crashing or over booting.

I Don't believe that they would be so drastic to ban him unless they had no other way to tell where the item came from. They must delete Item history at some point and that's the what messes up their judgment on ban or not ban.
the only reason there is such a clear examination is because there isn't much to look through.

It was an Item I gave him. My friend got it from the cash shop. He got banned with the item. I was just lending it to him too!!
SO that was a pain. I lost my yama. x.x

But it was like...yeah, Unfair banning, totlaly doesnt happen. (Rolls eyes)

That case scenario just seems to scream out secrets to me. Really, I know you are partially involved but it was his account that was banned and should be the one asking why did they banned him.

I don't mean to be rude but since the other thread explains how moderators are just military dogs in blunt terms. They never give out the format on investigating reports like it's Area 51. Honestly, would they really tell why there are so many unfair bans and why they aren't unbanning the accounts?
