Mars was walking through the town for the first time in a while. Walking in the darkness was the best thing he could do, but seeing as he had been turned into a vampire, he didn't really need to worry about the sunlight bothering him. He had taken on the appearance from his late teen years. He was nineteen again, with his short hair. Dyed a faint purple tint over his natural black hair.
He knew that his full name was Marshall, but he had always preferred to be called Mars. Only thing was that he didn't allow anyone else in high society call him that. Everyone who knew him formally, had to call him Marshall, and only his wives and mistresses knew him as Mars. It was not easily known from looking at him, that he had so many wives, or even as many children as he had, but the fact of the matter was that he did, and that he was a whole lot older than he let himself appear to be.

Mars spotted the grave up ahead before he was anywhere near it. He kept walking closer, his steps growing slower by the minute. It had been a long time since he had last visited her grave. Rosa. He thought silently. The garden back at the manor, he had kept it there in part because of her final request. She always had been a sentimental woman, even after becoming a vampire, she had still cared so much about her garden.
An artificial sunlight always shone on the garden, but its intensity was much weaker than that of the sun's intense rays of light. He stepped up to her grave and conjured up the black roses he loved to give to her. They always grew that way around these parts. Black roses, they had learned to survive in the dark, so the flowers strived in the perpetual darkness. Mars sighed as the flowers appeared on her grave. Sure he had more wives where she came from, but she had been the one who always kept him on his feet.
He began to head back. He had left one of his sons in charge of the manor, and he was beginning to think that it had not been such a good idea. Perhaps he would be wrong and everything would be just fine when he got back. Somehow he doubted that that would be the case. He stalked out of the graveyard and through the town, walking down the old beaten path leading to the manor.
[Exits to Saint Valentine Manor.]
