The queen has recently left on a quest for cubs to help with reviving the pride. With no new cubs since the males were cast out, she worries that the pride will stagnate. She's leading by example.

When she returned, she gathered the pride and announced they would be having an end-of-year festival! Everyone needs something to lift their spirits and to bond with their fellow pridemates, so she's got some fun activities planned for everyone.

So far, there will be a ceremony to honor the fallen and passed. Those who care to join will make a procession around the pridelands to leave tokens of remembrance and thanks at the memorial shrines that have been erected so far. There will also be a Tears of Blood ceremony at the end of the procession, reminding everyone what the pride stands for.

Next, there will be a very small welcoming ceremony for those who are new to the pride, any new litters that have arrived, and mothers that are expecting. For a pride without males, new blood is a little harder to come by than for other prides, so every one is precious.

There will also be games for the pride to play, including a hunting contest, storytelling contest, and a cliff diving contest! Winners of the hunting and storytelling contest will win status as Head Hunter and Master Storyteller, while those who excel at cliff diving will win necklaces to show their bravery and strength.

OOCly: If you have any ideas for games or other events for the pride, please PM or IM Blue! I will be sure to look them over and you might be able to run the game yourself. The event will start Oct. 1st and end around Nov. 1st or whenever people have gotten the rp in they wanted to get.

The Procession has started! Its an ORP for everyone to enjoy and will be open for a week or so. You're not required to participate, but we hope you leave at least one post!

The entire pride is encouraged to join the procession to visit the few memorials that have been erected for females who have died, or ancestors the living members wish to honor. A small token can be left at each and doesn't have to be any more elaborate than, say, a flower. Direct relatives may get beads, flowers, locks of hair, whatever the living lioness chooses to honor them with. Its a solemn affair, but there is gratitude and respect mixed in there too.

The procession will end at the top of the waterfall where Kiuma's memorial is. After that will be a Tears of Blood ceremony that everyone is required (at least ICly) to participate in. Its part of the culture and strengthens bonds. New females may be initiated then as well, if there are any.

The Hunting Contest is now open! You may post once for each lioness you own in the pride and roll dice to determine how well she does. The one with the highest average score wins!

The Procession rp will remain open through the month so anyone who wants to can get some posts in.

Member list has been updated and reorganized. Without much in the way of cubs or younger lions to fill out those posts, the list as instead been separated into roles or ranks.

The Amazons are getting a change in leadership! After some thought, Blue has decided to bring on Depawsit as IC-owner of the pride while she becomes an OOC owner/consultant. She doesn't want the pride to get disbanded because she isn't being active enough.

ICly, Hippolyta has decided that with all these strong daughters running around, its time to retire and spend more time with her consort and grandchildren. Calypso has mysteriously disappeared from the pride's lands, and while its not publicly known why she left or that she won't be coming back, its rumored that she had a huge fight with her mother and has abandoned the pride. When approached to become the new heir, Ariadne declined the honor. Some say its because she's ashamed of her infertility and inability to carry on the royal line.

After much thought and discussion, Hippolyta has decided to pass on queenship of the pride to her daughter Zaramama'Drogo (owned by Painted Moose. This is the correct name, the announcement was wrong). Umeme (owned by Depawsit) seems to be the favored one for becoming her consort and ruling the pride with her, with Hippolyta and Ebere as advisors.

Its exciting news and the pride is buzzing with rumors and gossip. With the change in leadership could come other exciting new changes. Only time will tell!

OOCly: This is also a reminder to PLEASE post new member and breeding information in the appropriate thread so the memberlist can be kept up to date! We've seen cubs running around on Antianeira certs with no breeding posting, so the guilty parties are getting the evil eye.
