The male noticed the girl's reaction to his reminder about the red zone as she seemed a bit grief stricken. It was the harsh truth of this game gone real. Trying to dilute yourself to forget it was a worse move than anything really as it would lead you to forget your limits here. Though Kai was known for pushing his limits to the max so even he would have to be cautious. To make her feel a bit better he spoke up, why exactly, he didn't know. 〝That's just how only Battle Healing is. There's some ways to relatively level it up.〞 He said, knowing how he had gotten it up rather high back in the beta by exploiting somethings in the game, though doing them often pissed off other players.
The best method was using a mob that was weak enough to just do more damage than you had defense and having multiple attack you at a time. While they attacked, you lowered their hp to close death and then let them work your hp down to the red zone slowly. Then once you hit the red, you killed them off quickly or used a potion to get yourself out of the red. It was tricky and only the most experienced players could do it properly without dying. However, if you had someone to help you, it make things much safer.
Noticing how she attacked though, he couldn't help but to talk to her once more. 〝You should use skills more. Just using a sword can raise proficiency with it, but using skills makes it go faster as well as killing your target.〞 He said before changing his form up a bit. Since she used a curved sword, much like him, he figured he would start with the basic curved sword technique. 〝Watch what I do and try it.〞 He said turning to look at the wolf once more. After a moment of holding his stance, the sword raised over his head with both hands like a samurai, he moved forward to the wolf and brought it down, the blade glowing blue as it left a visible path in the air. The wolf let out yet another yelp before moving away. It's health was now in the red zone.
〝A warning though, you don't want to use skills to much. They can cause you to become exhausted quickly and make mistakes. The key is to know your own limit.〞 He said to her, ignoring the wolf's attack as it was as good as dead. Even if he did take damage, he could wait a moment and then his hp would heal up what ever he did take. One wolf was too weak on its own to kill him. With how much hp the wolf had left, there was no need for him to waste any more skills. Not to mention he felt a bit of the exhaustion he had mentioned to her. 〝〞

The wolf knew that it's time was almost up. However, it wasn't about to give up. It had shrugged off the girl's attacks as they had so far been rather weak to it. The man though made up for it with every attack he landed. After the last attack though, the wolf was limping as it could feel the pain of the attacks it had been taking. If there was bleeding damage, it would probably die on its own. However, it still made another attack, ignoring its pain as it tried to futilely kill the player.

D: )) Ah, only Battle Healing.. Well at least you say that there are other ways! Akari's face lightened back up when Kai spoke. She turned to face the wolf when Kai started speaking again. She stopped and turned back to him. Oh weapon skills... Okay! Akari watched him momentarily when he demonstrated what to do. Akari clapped when he finished his attack Well done! she mused.
Akari copied Kai's movements and brought her Sabre down on the Wolf. Now Akari had one turn to cool down from using Reaver. Hm Reaver.. Cool name. Akari chimed.
At the girl's reaction the man swore he felt a sweat drop roll down his head at her misunderstanding. 〝No... by other ways, i mean safer ways than just attacking the strongest thing to get your hp in the red.〞 He said in retort to her, hoping to clear this misunderstanding she seemed to quickly come to, even though he did cheer her up. After he had explained the skills, she seemed to understand and cheered at how he had used the skill. To her, it might have been awesome, but to Kai, it was just a walk in the park and normal. Thus, her reaction was beyond weird.
Why does she feel it so necessary to force me to help her when there's plenty of others that would be willing to help... He thought to himself as he looked at her out of the corner of his eyes. Surely she didn't have any emotional attachment to him since girls didn't seem to care much for him.... right? Or maybe.... she felt that because of how he was that he was the least likely to do anything to her. He came to the second conclusion due to thinking about just how massive a certain pair of features for her were. Now, Kai was by no means a pervert, however, it was hard NOT to notice the size of her bust.
Luckily, while he had been thinking about these things, and briefly remembering her earlier clinging to his arm, Akari was busy executing the skill he showed her and thus probably hadn't noticed him looking at her out of the corner of his eyes. As she spoke up again, he was brought back to reality. Looking at the wolf, he quickly moved in and lay down the finishing blow with a quick attack. With that the wolf burst into polygons and a window popped up before the players showing the rewards. Looking at the chipped fang, the male could only sigh as he had hopped for something a bit more valuable. He simply closed the window and turned to look at Akari to see her level up. 〝Grats.〞 〝〞

Akari looked back over at Kai Thanks for helping me! Now then where should we go next? she wondered, signifying that she wasn't about to leave any time soon. She looked up at him, almost eye level, but of course he was a bit taller than she. Kai was also quite handsome and when the thought crossed her mind she blinked at the thought.
After things had been cleared up about the proficiencies, the male pushed the topic aide. Looking at the map, he figured he should be close to where the white wolf in the game was. The question was if he could find it before it got too dark. It seemed as though he wasn't going to be able to get in another level this day, but it didn't really matter since he had taken the lead in the game. Hearing the girl speak up again, he glanced at her before mentally sighing. She's relentless, isn't she? He thought to himself before turning around and motioning for her to follow. 〝By the way, if we run into a white wolf...〞 He started to say to her before something caught his eye.
Turning to where he saw the 'thing' he looked right into the eyes of a white wolf. 〝Don't kill it.〞 He finished before drawing his sword and pointing it at the white wolf. This, the White Wolf, was going to become his familiar. 〝Just stand back and watch.〞 He said to the girl without taking his eyes off. Putting his hand out towards the wolf, he made a gesture to it as if to taunt it. 〝〞
The white Fury Wolf, an uncommon sight among the Fury Wolves, stood before them, seeming to emit a presence of strength and justice. Though, until it was tamed, it would likely just show its wild, ferocious side. Locking eyes with the male, the wolf's posture changed as it waited to see what its target would do. After a moment, the wolf rushed forward and pounced at the man, who seemed to just ignore the attack as he was charging a skill.
The battle was a long fight, but it was clear who the victor would be. Even as the male worked to tame the beast, his hp hardly dropped as the wolf couldn't do enough damage to take him down due to the battle healing. At first it seemed that the wolf was just ignoring the man's attempts to tame until he pulled something out of his inventory and offered it. A slab of boar meat. Tossing it on the ground, the wolf stared at it before glancing at the man before starting to devour the hunk of meat. After a few moments, the meat was gone and the cursor for the wolf changed from red to green over the wolf's head, indicating that the White Wolf was now his familiar.

Approaching the wolf, the male started to pet it on the head and the wolf closed its eyes briefly before it seemed to finally notice Akari. It stared into her eyes for a moment, before glancing up at the male at its side. 〝Taming a familiar can be rather difficult, and some times impossible if they aren't able to be tamed. Most of the time though, it's best to assume anything anthropomorphic isn't able to be tamed, same for bosses and their spawns.〞 He explained to the girl in case she became curious about familiars after having watched what he had done to tame the wolf before her eyes.
Turning after his explanation, he started to head towards some more wolves nearby to do some more leveling. 〝Come on, we got more training to do before it gets dark.〞 He said, figuring that she was going to follow him any ways. The wolf, glanced back at the female before trotting after the man to keep pace with him. I don't recall if they had collars, not that I need one, but I could probably could ask that tailor to make him one- Crap. I didn't get her name. He thought to himself, before remembering the notification of a new message in his inbox. Opening it now, his eyes narrowed.
Message from 'Chibi Knight' to Kai

The male's fist clentched tightly before he pressed the reply button. He had modified the friend's list to have Richard's character name appear as Chibi Knight since you could modify player names in your friend list by choosing the 'nickname' option. As the man walked, he typed up a reply and sent it.

Feeling better after the threatening reply, Kai closed the menu and continued on, seeing if the woman was still behind him before he started to fight more wolves with her, maintaining the fight one wolf at a time standard for the time being. At some point though, a thought crossed his mind and he had opened his menu and a moment later a friend request appeared before Akari from Kai. 〝〞

Oh right! Akari hurried after him. Akari was beside him, occasionally glancing down at his wolf, waiting for it to turn on them, a notification popped up out of the blue. Woah! she exclaimed and then covered her mouth, chuckling at herself. She quickly opened the notification and saw the fiend request from Kai. Cool beans! she stated happily accepting it.

After all the fighting was over, Kai looked at the results with disdain. Of all those wolves, just a bunch more chipped fangs. At least he could use them to enhance his new unique sword. For the time being, it would do until he could get that rare one from the hard quest. While THAT sword was just for level 8 and a quest reward, few people actually had completed the quest in beta. Most had given up the quest deeming it impossible even after Kai had broken that "impossible" statement. Once more, he planned to do what others called impossible. Switching out swords, he looked at the new one, though the description for it was grim, as it was for most novice blades.
He had felt awkward about her reaction to his friend request, but at least it would allow him to easily make sure she stayed out of trouble if she tried following him. With how low the sun was getting, he knew that there wasn't enough time to keep going any further. Closing the window, he turned towards the next town, glancing over his shoulder. 〝It's getting too dark to keep going, come on.〞 He said, signalling for her to follow him. With that, he lead her through a path in the woods to the next town before the more powerful night monsters came out.

Looking around, Shirou realized there were more mobs around, possibly due to the approaching night. Most sensible players would have chosen to stay in the Town to spend the night.
Among the boars, Shirou spotted several unfamiliar shapes. Upon closer inspection, he realized they were wolves.
Pointing the fact that night was approaching quickly out to Durancelot, he asked Durancelot whether he'd like to kill a couple of boars or try to fight a wolf.
" Well, according to the guide book, i don't think we can take those wolves on yet... Not with our numbers, not to mention we're barely above starters' level... " Durancelot replied whilst looking for the nearest boar. It seems that the wolves are scaring away players, as the number of hunters around are much lower than in the northern plains." That said, there's more boar here, don't you see ? Let's slaughter them for exp and loot, would be easier and faster than fighting one of those wolves. There's plenty for each of us, let's do this ! " Durancelot roars, charging at one of the boar, preparing to surprise attack it with a <>.

Shirou followed Durancelot and charged at the same boar. Anyway, boars were more plentiful here than in the field north of the Town, so they should have less problems finding boars here.
Catching sight of one of the wolves in the distance, he wondered how many players had made it past them. They had spent a whole day grinding, but looking at the cursor indicator on the wolves, Shirou had to admit it would probably be suicide to go near them.
At the same time, he wondered whether there were still rooms for rent in the Town. As quickly as the thought formed, it dispelled as Shirou plunged into the fight.

As she entered the field, she noticed a message from Lion popped up. She viewed it and sighed I came all the what out here to do nothing?..ugh..I might as well find an inn and some food..ugh! stupid game! why the hell did I play!? Asami asked herself as she kicked the ground and started walking back to the town. She sighed deeply and swung her sword around with anger. Ugh! no one freaking cares about little Manami Tottori...I was born to be alone..with no real intention of living she said softly to herself as kept walking towards the town. She was hurt deep down, but didn't want to cry in front of anyone. Asami began to run until she made it close to the town.

Shirou hit the boar one final time, and the boar squealed in pain before bursting into polygons. With his new weapon, hunting boars was easier, but it was harder to find them since night was approaching quickly.
The cover of night should also allow aggressive mobs or maybe even other players to sneak up behind them, so he told Durancelot that they should head back soon. Looking through his loot list, he smiled when he saw he had gained an armor piece from one of the three boars. Maneuvering the menu, his Novice Pants shimmered and was replaced with dark brown pants with a rougher texture.
All of a sudden, he heard a scream. Turning to face the direction of the sound, he spotted a scrawny male player fighting off a wolf not too far off. Narrowing his eyes, he could see that the wolf was still in the green zone, but the player's HP was already down to the red zone.
Starting forward, he unsheathed his sword and dashed forward, but in his heart he knew it was already too late.
