HOUSTON – A Houston Algebra teacher at Clear Brook High school mocked a 9th grade Muslim students by telling her “I heard about about your uncle” after Bin Laden’s death. The girl was so devastated by the comment she was too embarassed to be interviewed. According a parent of on of the girl's classmates, this altercation took place in front of the entire class. The girl began crying, and the teacher asked why. The students responded that it was because of his rude comment, and he responded with simply "Oh." and walked off, chuckling to himself.

Quote:
"A Friendswood mom says she was offended by what her daughter says happened Monday in ninth grade algebra.

She said, “The teacher told the student that ‘I bet you’re grieving.’ And she basically looked at him and said what are you talking about? And he said I heard about your uncle’s death and she said wow, because she understood that he was referring about Osama bin Laden being killed and was racially profiling her.”
"

The source is here, which includes live news coverage of the story, including a written statement on behalf of the school. The teacher is on administrative leave.

I just pray to God he isn't one of those bigoted Christian assholes. Christians get enough problems due to idiots like him, and everyone will probably assume he's one anyway.

I endorse blowing that guy's jaw out with a well placed slap for that s**t, because if someone had asked a white kid the same thing about Timothy McVeigh, Gaian apologists would have leapt to their keyboards and cried some bullshit about "Reverse racism". ******** that teacher, and he deserves to have his license revoked.

NOTE:Oh, and I'm not going to chant "USA!USA!" over it, but ******** Bin Laden too. People are crying that "He didn't get a fair trial" when he went on TV and took credit for killing 3000 people-I'll piss on his grave, and flip off his family while doing it for that s**t. My aunt was almost in one of those buildings, so he and Al-qaida can go play some Enya and kill themselves. That dude was about as Muslim as Charlie Sheen is sober while "banging 7 gram rocks".

P.S.-Yes, I feel a certain way about this argument. What was your first guess?

Sure it was a joke, a bad joke granted- but still a joke.

He left the girl in tears and smugly walked off. I honestly could care less if it was a joke, he took it too far, and did not take responsibility once it was obvious. And it wasn't professional either. Even if it was a joke it still could've cost him his job, even if she took it well.

At the very least, he should have apologized. My class did everything the teacher instructed, even when it sounded stupid.

"Hey, kids! I'm going to hold onto this elctro-orb. Everyone get in a line holding hands! We're going to pass the current through out bodies to the faucet on the other side of the room."

I swear to God that actually happened. And yes, they all got shocked. Now imagine if the teacher was mocking a student. How many would have joined in? If she didn't cry and the rest of the students didn't realize he was being an a*****e, we would have had a much different story on our hands.
