The Grove

In the Southwest of the main island, there is a grove. The trees grow so closely together here that they form a natural barrier against the ever-present mist. This place is one of the very few places in Kirigakure that is mist-free. It is also one of the places that the shinobi of the village go to train. Any kind of training is allowed here. The mist surrounding but never quite touching the area gives it a closed-off feeling. Like you're disconnected from the rest of the world. Several of the higher ranking shinobi come here in an effort to pass on their skills to the younger generations. If asked nicely, they will teach you the secret techniques that you most yearn to know...

One can also pick herbs here. In order to do so, a Survival check must be met to identify that you have the right one.

[I've decided that with everything that will be going on, this thread will be considered "apart" from the rest of the village. You can post in this thread and one other thread. Academy students are allowed to train whatever they wish as they are incredibly weak and need to improve as soon as possible. ^^ Anyone else is restricted to jutsu training only! If this thread is abused, I'll take everyone down to jutsus only. If the abuse continues, I'll take the thread out completely. Below is a list of the shinobi that you can ask to teach their techniques. If none of them knows the technique you wish to learn, PM me and we will figure something out.

Please PM the teacher asking them nicely to train you. Remember to state what training you wish to undergo. Obviously, if you've already completed the training once, then you can do it unaided. If not, someone will have to show you first.

Once you've completed a jutsu you'll receive experience depending on the rank.

Some training costs HP. To replenish your health, your character must leave the training area for one real time day. After one day, they may re-enter and continue training. If you do not post that your character has left and you didn't post for a day that will not be counted.

Some training costs CP. To replenish your chakra, you character must eat, which can be done in the training area or rest. (1 rest post = +1Cp)

Jutsu: Doton: Shinju Zanshu no Jutsu (Earth Release: Inner Decapitation Technique)
The user, emerging from the ground below the target area, pulls down (or possibly swaps places with) the opponent so that only their head is above ground.
Cp cost: 6
Damage: N/A
Requeriments: Genin or highter rank. Must be trained to learn the jutsu.
Training days: 3 to 7 days. 2 - 5 With earth Affinity.

Seiko asked as he looked at Hiro. Held out his hands with the palms up and looked at his own hands.

"Let me see your hands.... Palms up"

Hiro was a little skeptic and didn't exactly understand, his palms had nothing to do with a jutsu besides his hand seals. He didn't understand but he did comply with his sensei's order. He pushed his hands forward in some what of a cautious pattern.

Seiko smirked and slapped his hands downward.

"We'll make an Doton user out of you yet."

Grabbing a few logs Seiko plants them in strategic locations that surround them.

"Okay, lesson 1. What is purpose of this technique?"

Takara passed through the mist into a clearing. She looked around to notice not many people around. She smiled under her mask. Good, there would be no one in her and Mizu's way. Speaking of the girl, where was she? Takara frowned. They were supposed to meet up to spar.

Mizu stalked through the surrounding shadows following closely behind Takara. As she looked around she recalled the last time she was here she was a student. Mizu Enjoyed the familiar filling as she watched her friend come to a stop. “Aww don’t be sad Takara I’m here.” Mizu said appearing from the quite shadows.

Takara turned to look at Mizu. She smiled under her mask. How long had it been since they last sparred together? She shook her head.

"Are you ready?" she asked her friend.

She stood in her fighting position, her body bent close to the ground, with her left leg stretched before her and her right leg bent under her. Her left arm was stretched out, palm open, and her right arm was near her face, her fist clenched.

Mizu stretched her arms behind her back puffing out her chest. “That and waiting” Mizu replied to her question.

She readjusted her body. Mizu stood straight up with her right leg extended forward, her fist clenched at her side as a smile crossed her face. “Lets go” Mizu demanded.

Takara nodded curtly. She would attack first. Quickly, she darted towards her friend, still a bit crouched to the ground. She pulled back her fist and feigned a punch before quickly kicking her right leg out and spinning, trying to knock Mizu down.

Attack: 14 + 2 = 16

Dodge: 16

Mizu jumped high in the air to evade the attack. “That one also got me.” Mizu thought to herself. As her jump slowed Mizu twisted her body so she could dart back down to the ground head first building up speed. Mizu once again twisted her body so her feet were making contact first she extended her right leg hoping her heel would hit.

Attack: 17+0=17

Hiro thought for a moment and blurted out the answer without even knowing if it was right. "To distract the enemy for escape or distraction."

Cocking an eyebrow Seiko shook his head. He held out his arm and used his thumb to point down.

"Wrong. When you reach a certain level it's a fun way to humiliate genin, however it's main purpose is to entrap your enemy. Depending on the type of soil your in it may be easier or harder for the enemy to escape."

Seiko bent down to one knee and took a fist full of dirt. It moved like sand and slipped between his fingers as he picked it up and held it.

"This is typical soil you'll find throughout most of your travels. Unless you travel to the Hidden Rain, Hidden Stone, or Hidden Sand, this'll be the type of terrain you fight on. So your first lesson is to take into account the type of footing you have. After you've established that the ground is strong enough to hold the enemy. Then you need to determine whether or not the battle is at the correct point to use this technique. The enemy must be standing on the ground in order to work obviously."

Hiro bent down and dug his nails into the ground smelling the soil and feeling its smooth texture. He may have seemed strange at the moment but the soil was something he didn't have to much of a connection with. He may have had skill in earth jutsus because of his affinity, but it was hard to get attached to it. He was a mist ninja not a sand ninja.

Takara stared up at the sky, trying to pinpoint where Mizu was going to attack. She found out too late as the girl's heel landed on her shoulder. Letting out a yelp, Takara jumped back, holding her shoulder. She checked to see if she could still use her arm before running at her friend. Bringing her arm back, she aimed to punch her stomach.
