Briar, as she did every night, took a bow. It was another flawless performance, though they had to be for the amount of peopel paying, and the popularity they'd gained. Briar was still in costume, a brown newsboy outfit. Brown trousers, black shoes, a white shirt, black tie, and a brown vest over it. The look was completed with a brown newsboy hat. A boy's outfit, but Briar found it to be much comfier than the dresses she had to wear as costumes, or as everyday wear.
After the show, the blonde went backstage, lifting her cap long enough to allow her long blonde hair to fall free of the cap, before setting it back atop of her head. She began to wash off the thick stage makeup on her face, making her androgynous face appear more feminine. She could still hear the crowd cheering, not even an inkling of what was to happen at the end of the night, which would turn a night of comedy into a tragedy.

Briar saw her room was covered in gifts once again, some stuffed toys, some jewelry from the especially rich, lots of flowers. The one she was looking for first...there was always a gold ribbon tied around the bouquet. She knew the color well, because it was the exact shade of her eyes, and an unusual color for gold fabric. Although the bouquet of flowers changed each month, that ribbon remained the same. She smiled to see it was lilies this time, a rose in the middle of all of it. As she picked it up, she noticed the weight was a bit wrong. Again, huh? She noticed this person had started sending trinkets, and jewelry to her, as well as the flowers. She found the box, and blushed deeply to see the earrings. They were rather beautiful. It was clear she had a fan. She heard one of her friends approach, who'd played her older brother on stage.
"Ooh, looks like Briar's got a super fan Another heart for you to break." he teased. "You're just jealous, Adam. If you were a girl, you'd have more fans." She teased. "But this person must really be a fan." She smiled. It's a bit flattering. The big city knows how to appreciate art, so that's good." The blonde haired girl had been cheered up by the gift. She was liking this mysterious fan. Their gifts had more of an emotional impact, as if they knew a thing or two about her. She didn't think on that too much, as she didn't want to think of her number one fan as a stalker.

Briar celebrated with her troupe at a tavern. It wasn't the usual tavern they went to, but a more high class one. Briar didn't drink much, wanting to keep a clear head to her. They stayed there a while, Briar ignoring the eyes she felt on her seometiems. She was used to it by now. Fans, or strangers staring at her. She didn't mind staying in costume. Dressing as a boy was easier at times, and she'd tucked her hair back into a hat. Though Briar didn't flirt, she got embarrassed when a serving girl mistook ehr gender, and kept up flirting with her. She had elbowed her brother when he teased her, encouraging her to flirt back. ***************** Late at night, Briar couldn't sleep. She stared out the window to her room. She had an odd feeling now, it prevented her from sleeping. However, this feeling didn't save her. She didn't hear the door breaking downstairs, but she saw soldiers in the streets, going to other houses. She ran down the steps to warn her troupe, but she heard the screaming. They'd already noticed. They were all scattering, trying to get out of the building, away from eh soldiers, but there was no escape. Briar was close, but was hit hard with a club in the back, breaking her shoulder as she fell. She gasped to be stabbed through he back with a sword, and she laid still, in pain, thinking the end would be soon. She was losing so much blood. No sane healer could come with such chaos, and no way could they save her unless they were here now. Tears in her eyes, Briar closed them, waiting to die.

She had gone to the same tavern as the troupe had. Of course Alex kept them in her view but where they couldn't see her. As a Gentleman she drank a cup of Bourbon and listened. Her Butler was dismissed for the time being, back to the carriage. Though she was soon enough watching her crush from a rooftop, between windows.
Of course she dozed off a bit before the soliders came in. But woke up when they got within a couple of blocks. When she was getting her baring she heard the troupe screaming. Only to jump through a top story window. After crashing through she started to look for Briar. Any soliders who came his way, had their necks cut with his claw like nails. Finally when he saw Briar, he was careful to roll her over. Raising his jacket sleeve and shirt sleeve, he used a claw to cut across his wrist.
Now was not a time she would ask if the young actress wanted to be changed. Pressing her wrist to Briar's lips, she waited until she felt a bit of his blood pass her lips. Before he carefully bit Briar's neck and started to draw blood. Thankfully she had blood recently, so he stopped after a good few minutes. No more than four at the max. Now he looked around and sensed everyone else was gone. Unless some had escaped without him noticing.
Now he carefully carried the new vampire. Of course she was sneaking around. She saw that her Butler had escaped the attack, but not the simple carriage. Sighing he gone to the Butler and they snuck together. But now the Butler was holding Briar carefully. After a good ten minutes more, they made it to her Manor's fence. Once inside they ran inside and started to make a bed for her.

Briar had thought it was over, but felt someone carefully roll her over. She made a soft sound, protest and pain, her eyes shut tightly as she whimpered in pain, her arm twitching towards her wound, but too weak. She'd lost so much blood, making her honey toned skin pale now. She tried to resist to feel something pressed to her lips, but she was too weak. Was this poison? Well, it wasn't like it coudl be worse. If it was a healer, she knew it was too late. She drank whatever liquid was in her mouth, and grimaced. It tasted funny. Kinda metallic, and it didn't quench her thirst. It was like when she sucked on a wound to stop the bleeding. But she already tasted her own blood in her mouth.
Briar's thoughts kept wandering, and she soon felt a sharp pain in her neck. Briar let out a tiny cry of pain, but was too weak to do much more than attempt to twitch away from her. Soon, from loss of blood. Briar finally fell unconscious, unaware of the changes happening within her.

Briar felt the other take her hand. The touch was light, soft, and warm. It was very comforting. She heard the other call her by name, claiming she wasn't in heaven, but in a manor. This woma was called Alexandra Jones. Briar smiled to hear this was AJ, her fan. She smiled. "Ah, AJ...yes, I remember. You always send thoughtful gifts." She said.
Briar suddenly remembered. "Alexandra...what happened? Why am I here? The last thing I remember...my troupe getting attacked, and I was injured...very badly." She said. Briar felt her eyes go teary, as she realized her family and friends were dead. The people she'd spent her entire life with, whether they were family, friends, or staff. She'd grown up with them from the moment she was born, with the exception of two who joined, both as staff, and the few who died of old age.
