[BATTLE] Death Star Fight (Estel/Matthias)

[Luridel]

Estel had been practicing fighting with actual magic a bit on her own since her last time practicing with Althaia, so far with inconsistent results.

Stepping into the ring, Estel held up her wand and narrowed her eyes at Matthias. "Magic only, yeah? It'll make this tougher." For both of them, probably.

Matthias furrowed his brow at this stipulation.

"Magic only? Really?"

He didn't sound all too thrilled at the idea.  

[Luridel]

Estel smiled and nodded. "Magic only. Next round we can do both, yeah?"  

[Blade Kuroda]

"Fine, I suppose," Matthias grunted. He didn't quite like this, but he supposed this was still training, nonetheless.

He stepped a distance away from her and readied his wand.

The shadow witch felt slightly ridiculous. This hardly felt like a proper weapon to him yet.  

[Luridel]

Estel took a couple steps back as well. "I'll make it up to you later, yeah? Three... two... one!"  

[Luridel]

[ WRONG DICE, OBVIOUSLY ]

Estel shook her wand, as if it were a juice box or a pen that had run out of ink, before pointing it at Matthias.

Nothing happened. Maybe she needed to shake it more.

Matthias was primed and ready to deal with whatever came his way.

But then Estel was standing there trying to fiddle with her wand.

Shaking his head, he tried to take this opportunity to send a dark bolt of energy straight for her. She had counted down. The fight had begun. There was no holding back.

At least, that was the idea. The magical bolt ended up veering off to the side sharply before it could meet its target.

"Oh for ******** sake."

Estel was fully prepared to dodge, only... she didn't even need to.

"See? We need the practice," she called, aiming a small gust of wind at him. It didn't really do much. Nice refreshing breeze.

Grunting lowly, he pointed down at her shadow, trying to raise it up and essentially entangle her legs. It pulled tight, in an attempt to bring her down.

Incredible. She hadn't had any idea that that was something he could do now. As Estel dropped to one knee, pulled down by her shadow, she rapped her wand on the floor, sending a magical shockwave rippling along the floor towards Matthias. By the time it actually reached him, since they were pretty far apart, it was basically ineffective.

The shadows went lax and Matthias was on the move. There really was no reason for him to be standing still while he did this. Moving targets were always harder to hit.

He made a circular motion with his wand before sending another bolt of dark energy for her.

Estel went for a bolt of light this time. Hey, maybe it would do something.

Matthias managed to to avoid a direct hit there, but that bolt of light still lightly grazed him.

He didn't really have a large variety of spells he could throw at Estel yet. While he ran, circling around her to try and get behind, he hurled several bolts of dark magic at her.
