It has been ten years since Endymion and Serenity became king and Queen. The Earth is a bright and prosperous place as everyone enjoys not aging beyond maturity and have an almost endless life. The time is peaceful and all seems perfect, but only on the surface, underneath things weren't as well as they seemed.
In thanks for their long life span, humans became more carefree, no longer trying to take care of their own mother Earth. Pollution began to sky rocket almost immediately. Neither Endymion nor Serenity noticed this change in the Earth occurring, not at least till it was too late.
Soon after the conditions began to worsen Endymion fell ill, coughing up black blood daily, though, not wanting to worry Serenity and the Senshi, he told no one. With the duties of being a new Queen, Serenity didn't notice Endymion's health deteriorating , till it was too late. Endymion was soon bedridden, Serenity had doctors over constantly, but none could find what was wrong.
Endymion soon passed, leaving Serenity alone to raise the young princess and watch over the universe. Serenity was devastated, encasing Endymion's body in imperium crystal and placing it inside a chamber at the very top tower of the Crystal Palace, preserving her beloved's body so that she may one day find a way to bring him back.
A year passes, and Serenity seems to be only acting when needed, spending days in the chamber sitting next to Enymion's crystal casket, not even bothering to eat. The senshi soon became worried about the Queen's behavior and try their best to encourage her to try and move on. Their attempts fail, she remains in a depressed almost sleepwalk like state, leaving the Senshi to tend to Chibi-usa.
And this is where our story begins. |

Usagi leaned her head softly against the cool crystal, feeling it against her cheek as she kneels down next to Mamoru's crystal casket. A tear slowly falls down her cheek."It's been a year Mamo-chan, and yet, I still miss you as if it were yesterday," her voice is weak from crying as she stares into the crystal at Mamoru's body. She feels her lip begin to tremble again. Turning slightly she places her slender arms upon the crystal, folding one over the other as she buries her face in them, sobbing, unable to control herself. Today marks one year after Mamoru passed away, and still Usagi hadn't figured out what caused his death, though she had been trying hard along with the senshi to find the cause. Her shoulders heave as she continues to sob, her shoulder blades visible above the back of her long white dress, she had lost her appetite almost completely after losing Mamoru causing her to become dangerously thin, though she really didn't notice. Her tears make a small tap sound as they hit the marble floors of the chamber.

Seiya stood outside the main entrance of the Crystal Palace. She sighs, as she thought back on the night before.
Taiki had called a meeting between Our Princess, Yaten, and myself. Apparently Taiki had received a message sent in secret by the Princess of Mercury concerning Usagi's health. We've all heard about what had happened to the former King of the Earth. We knew, I especially, how deeply the Princess of the Moon's feelings ran for him so it came of no surprise to hear that she was deeply sadden. We had offer to come and help comfort her but the Princess of Uranus put a stop to it. It has been a year since then and the Princess of Mercury has informed that their had been no improvement, but just drastically getting worse and that she was worried that soon her health would reach critical. After all the information was given to Our Princess she announced that the next day we would send a message out, offering our services.
I tossed and turned all night long. I couldn't sleep. I could only see Usagi's small, pale, weak frame; visualizing the light in her I adore so much going out. It was more than I could bare. I took off in secret that night, heading straight for the planet that she resides.
I traveled all night long and find myself here at the entrance of her home. By now Our Princess, Taiki, and Yaten must know I've taken off and most likely will come after me and I'm sure that I'll have to deal with the Princess of Uranus later as well. But until then...
"Odango..." I entered the castle doors.

Hearing a noise from out on the stairs, Usagi lifts her head, turning toward the doorway, her face red from crying. As she turns she hears the familiar sound of her daughter crying. Quickly she pushes herself up off the ground and races out the door and down the few stairs to Chibi-usa. She throws her arms around her daughter's trembling shoulders, "It's ok Chibi-usa, please don't cry, I promise, I'll find a way to fix this," she leans her head down onto Chibi-usa's head as she holds her, kissing her softly on the head, trying her best to comfort her. She hugs tight to her, a tear rolling down her own cheek, she hated seeing her daughter in so much pain. She nibbles her bottom lip as she tries to compose herself, wanting to be strong for Chibi-usa.

Usagi gives a weak smile,"No, of course I'm happy to see you Seiya," She begins to raise up, using the banister of the stairs for support, helping Chibi-usa to her feet as well, "I'm sorry if I made you think otherwise," she places her thin hand upon Chibi-usa's shoulder as they both stand in front of Seiya, she gives a small smile, "I'm not sure if you have exactly met yet, but this is my daughter, Chibi-usa," she really couldn't recall whether or not she had even told Seiya she has a daughter."Sorry you had to come in on a such a horrible scene," Usagi's gaze drops, "Things haven't exactly been great lately." she nibbles her bottom lip holding back her tears, not wanting to cry in front of Seiya.

Seiya forces her eyes from Usagi as she kneels down to Chibi-Usa. Though she never seen the child before she had heard of her birth. "Hello little beauty." Seiya takes Chibi-Usa's hand and kisses it. "It is a pleasure to meet you Chibi Odango."
