Blue Mountain Wolf Pack

These wolves are tougher as they have to survive the harsh conditions of the mountains. There is never enough prey and the only water is in the small stream at the bottom of the valley. The den is situated in a cave half way up the mountain and their usual prey is the mountain goats that live above them.
Hunters come every year to hunt Elk, deer, moose and the occasional wolf.
Recently the pack has suffered a great loss. Half their pack fell to the Silvermoon Pack's fangs and both their Alpha's perished.
Hunters have just arrived at the hunt on the bottom of the first mountain and the pack must fatten themselves as much as possible for the comming winter without running into them.

Nightpaw yawned and looked out the cave entrance at the pink sky. She brightened instantly and sprang to her feet. "It's morning! It's morning!" she yapped happily.

Darkfur lifted her head from her paws and watched the racing pup. "There is absolutely no need to get so excited." she said serenely, but she smiled at the young pup's exuberance.

Cookie got to her feet slowly and shook her brown fur. She padded out onto the ledge and scented the air. "Mmmm... Smells like the Goats have drifted close during the night." she said, eagerness in her eyes as she looked back at the awakening pack.

Nova opened her eyes and stretching, her jaws widening in a great yawn...
"Morning, everyone. Are they back yet?" She wanted to know that her parents and the rest of the pack had won against Silvermoon Pack...

"I don't smell them." Cookie said her nose to the wind still.

Darkfur got up and looked at Nova. "They've been gone for a long time now. When do you think they'll come back?"

"I hope soon. I miss mummy." Nightpaw said slumping down on the ground sadly.

Darkfur padded over and licked her ears. "It'll be ok." She reasured the pup. She looked up at the others with doubt in her eyes. They should have been back by now. she thought.

Then, then slow smell of goats filled the air in the cave as the sudden sight of the white, noble furred Lead Hunter of the pack came back to the den with four goats in his mouth. He dragged them all the way in to the middle and sat down in front of it. " Sorry, we had to eat ourselves, it was getting late. " The tall, elite hunter spoke as he let most of the wolves come to the 4 goats he brought, with other on their way.

((I just realized that Nova and Nightpaw are sisters.))
Nova stepped forward...
"Where are the rest of them? Where are Mom and Dad?"

Kenai walked into the den, once he got to the den he watched his packmates eat.( ig2g soon so if im offline i had to leave.)

Suddenly, a sad looked drifted upon his face as he waved over Nova and Darkfur and told them in a whisper about what had happened that night... about the deadly battle and how he was able to save some of the wolves. " Im sorry for the loss.... " He finished as he bowed his head in respect for their great loss in the pack.

Nova hung her head in respect, but then howled at the moon, mourning the loss...

He wanted to comfort her, but he just wouldn't help. So he just stood back letting them do as they please. Limet, the Lead Hunter of the pack, was getting more angered at the Silvermoon pack for everything. For his friends, and loved ones in the pack, they have practically took everything.

((can peeps please keep the hunting realistic. I did mention more then once that prey was scarce and may I say with eyebrows raised that boy that wolf must have a massive mouth to be able to drag 4 goats the same size as himself back to the den))
Darkfur padded to the edge sadly and joined her pack mate in her mournful howl to the early morning sun.

Cookie looked at the goats with amazement. "How did you manage to catch 4?!" She looked up at her pack mates howls. "what's going on...." she trailed off when she realised there would be only one reason for them to be so sad. "Oh, no." she said with disbelief and sadness as she sat down on the hardpacked dirt floor. She howled too and it echoed around in the cave.

Nightpaw caught on instantly. The whispers and the howls. "Mummy and daddy aren't comming home are they?" she cried and added her sobbing howls to the others.

(( I know, Two are small and It took him a long time to blow off steam. ))

Limet then looked down and rotated his jaw in pain for being able to take down the four goats, even though it took him a very long time. He then looked over at the Darkfur and Nova and he then looked down and he showed his teeth full fledged. He then Couldn't stand the sadness and then turned around and dashed out of the den and down the mountain. It would take him a while to get down to the bottom but he would kill someone from Silvermoon if he had too!

Nova took off instinctively after him...
"Limet, stop! Think this through. We have no Alpha, and we've lost half of our pack. If they managed to kill them all, don't you think they might be able to snap one of us like a twig?"

Rai woke up from all the howling and all. He saw the 4 goats that just happened to be in the Den.

Damn...how the hell did 4 goats get here..He rubbed his eyes since he was still half asleep. Did i miss anything?....guess i slept in a bit .

Limet then suddenly stopped to Nova's order and then hanged his head. " Damn it all.... How did we even let them take Are Alpha's in the first place?! They were strong and mighty! How Nova?! " He then turned to her with a angered look, but he had known her for a long time and she knew when he was mad at something, he was just sad about it. Like one memory when they were playing around and one of the elder wolfs brought back a dead bunny and Limet just started yelling at the older wolves why the hell they killed a bunny, but inside, he was just sad that the bunny was killed.
