Blyse City Gym Vs. Kiera Fitzsimmons

Kiera walked into the gym and looked up for Flying pokemon. She was a little nervous and excited at the same time. "This is going to be so much fun." She had all her pokemon with her except for Zeus. He was with Nolan. Kiera made her hands into fists and smiled. "Everyone do your best and its okay if we lose again. Losing is part of winning and becoming stronger!" Kiera already knew which pokemon she wanted to use for the gym. She sat down in the bleachers to wait and fed her pokemon some snacks because they were starting to get hungry.

The Shade walked into the gym. He had decided: he would help with the battle if the gym allowed wild Pokemon to join in. Even if he didn't have any attack moves, he could still punch and kick could he not? He thrust his right fist in the air. "Let's kick some avian butt!" he said, looking for the gym leader.

Being a total snack lover, the wild Pokemon took a snack for himself. The Shade munched on the snacky goodness for a few moments before swallowing it. Mmmmmm. One does not simply fill The Shade's belly. "Too bad you're not a Jolteon." The Shade mentioned to Jupiter. So far she seeme the most likable, save the human, of the group.

The Gym Leader stood at the far end of the gym, quietly watching as the newbie trainer entered. "Welcome to the Blyse City Gym," he called out by way of greeting. "The real leader's not in right now, so I'm filling in for him. Are you prepared to start your gym challenge?"  

[Chuugo Red]

"That's okay! I just hope I'm good enough and we are ready." Kiera was so excited! This was going to be really fun for her first gym battle. She looked back at her pokemon and they nodded and smiled back to her. She was happy to see that Cubone had come too, but since he wasn't really her pokemon she couldn't use him as one of her battlers. Kiera thought carefully over who she wanted to use first. Vesuvius should be a good choice. "Vesy don't let me down! You'll be my champion." Vesuvius jumped off the bleachers and galloped up to Kiera. He didn't have to try hard at all to get his flames started and now they were really ready.

The Gym Leader nodded approvingly. Seems like at least one of the trainers he'd battled so far had evolved their starter. "Guess I'll start with you," he said, tossing one of his Pokeballs into the arena. A second later, the small form of his Farfetch'd appeared in the ring, clutching its improvised sword tightly. "No reason to wait around, let's get this started. Open with an Aerial Ace!" Upon hearing the command the duck blurred forwards, slashing the Quilava along its flank with its onion sword.

"You have a Farfetch'd! That's so..." And Kiera said it. "Cute!" She grinned. Kiera could have use different words but she couldn't think of a good reason why. All pokemon were so cute! "But we're going to fight as best as we can. Right Vesy?" The Quilava nodded and when the fight started he tried to jump back from the Aerial Ace. Farfetch'd was too fast and hit Vesy easily. "Get that duck back with your Quick Attack!" Vesuvius ran forward so fast that his flames went out and he dashed side to side to hit Farfetch'd back.

The leader's lips twitched into a small smile. It looks like they had a speed battle on their hands. The Quick Attack took his Farfetch'd by surprise and knocked the small bird off its feet, but a second later the duck was back up and and facing its opponent. "Same move Farfetch'd, hit it with another Aerial Ace!" the leader called out. The duck squawked a quick reply and charged forwards again, striking the Quilava and leaping away again. The leader knew that the duck likely wasn't going to survive the battle, but if he could inflict enough damage to the Quilava now, his other two should be able to finish it off.

The pokemon traded blow for blow at blazing speeds. It was exhilarating and Kiera held her breath. Vesy wasn't the best at physical attacks, and she changed orders for her Quilava. "Now use your Ember!" Vesy inhaled but not to blow out fire that way. He shook his blazing fur and a rain of Embers showered in the area around Farfetch'd like splatters of water. "Go go go Vesuvius! You're the best and super strong!" Kiera was being the cheerleader for her pokemon because she wanted them to win.

The small fireballs impacted the little duck, causing it squawk in fear and pain. Fortunately however, the attack hadn't knocked it out, at least not yet. The Leader knew that his duck had a limited amount of time left though, and he needed to make the best of it. "Keep the pressure on!" he called out to his Pokemon. "Another Aerial Ace!" It wasn't the most creative strategy, but it was the duck's strongest move. Once more the Farfetch'd blurred into motion, striking and retreating as before - though it was obvious to everyone in the battle that it had slowed down considerably, its wounds taking a toll.

Vesuvius wasn't that tough and when Farfetch'd hit with another attack Kiera's Quilava couldn't get back up. Oh no poor Vesy, Kiera thought, I need to make him stronger. She got out her PokeBall and withdrew Vesy. "You might have gotten Vesuvius first. This next one is going to blow your pokemon out of the gym! Go Wispy!" Her pink pokemon came out of his PokeBall and looked really timid. Shy until Kiera yelled, "Use your Uproar attack!" Wispy looked at Farfetch'd afraid and opened his mouth and inhaled through his ear intakes. Then Wispy let out a huge loud long scream so powerful it can do damage to anyone in target.

The supersonic shout was too much for the already weakened duck and it fainted, bowled completely over from the sound blast. The gym leader himself winced at the noise, reaching into his pocket for a pair of earplugs. He'd never seen a Whismur used before in a trainer's first gym battle, but knew what they were like in combat. After a moment's deliberation, the man selected another Pokeballs from his belt. "Good one!" he called encouragingly. "But I hope you're ready for this! Go Woobat!" In a burst of light the little bat-like Pokemon appeared, twittering happily. "Let's get things started with a Heart Stamp!" The bat flexed its nose, sending a heart-shaped projectile towards the small Pokemon it opposed.

Poor Farfetch'd. The duck fought so hard. He was such a good pokemon to his trainer. Kiera had her fingers in her ears because Wispy was so loud. She could lip read what the gym leader said to her and she smiled while she shouted back, "THANK YOU!" The problem with Uproar was that Whismur couldn't hear any other orders for three turns in all. So there were two turns left and Kiera hoped that Wispy wouldn't be knocked out before those two turns were over. Wispy had his eyes shut tight and he kept screaming. He didn't really feel the heart stamp because he was focused on making as much noise as he could but he would feel it later.

The Leader's hearing was somewhat protected thanks to his earplugs, but his Pokemon's ears were fully exposed to the waves of sound being generated from the Whismur, and more importantly were designed to be extra-sensitive. The Woobat was not pleased with the development at all and chittered loudly in pain from the ongoing Uproar. Likely it wouldn't last very long at all, not with a sound-based Pokemon on the field. Still, the leader was determined to get as much as he could out of his Pokemon before it fainted. "Hit it with another Heart Stamp!" he called out. The Woobat acknowledged the order through the intense sound waves - it was psychically linked to its trainer's mind - and flexed its nose again, creating another heart-shaped blast that accelerated for the Whismur.

Last turn for Uproar and Wispy was barely hanging on by a thread. Kiera would need to toughen up Wispy or maybe try to find another pokemon to go the distance. Kiera still liked her Whismur a lot but sometimes she had to adapt. She had her fingers in her ears so there wasn't much else to think about except maybe another pokemon. She didn't want to go deaf and the gym leader had a good idea to wear ear plugs. Kiera wanted more blue pokemon.
"Are you holding in there, Wispy? Don't get knocked out yet!"
Whismur was looking tipsy and he teetered from side to side. He still couldn't hear Kiera but he noticed her cheering.
