Mamertine had only been out for a quarter of an hour when he felt the energy signature. It was early enough that he hadn’t been worn down by either work or patrolling, and given his desire to see peaceful, safe streets, it was easy for him to convince himself to investigate.
It was clearly worth the investigation when the energy signature seemed to adjust course to meet him.
He continued moving towards him, but didn’t seem particularly friendly when their paths met. He knew what a Chaos signature usually meant, and when they finally crossed paths, Mamertine was naturally on edge. His eyes landed on the male with unfounded accusation; he knew what to expect from Chaos these days.
And yet, he didn’t strike first.
He’d give him the slight benefit of the doubt.
Still, in a stern voice, he noted, “You seem like you’re in a hurry. What are you doing?”

Alum scoffed as if the idea of offering his own starseed was absurd. "I have already, and look what it got me. I have power. I have a future. I can do things no one else can do. Besides, she needs me not to mention I also wasn't worthy. So she helped me become better. She took the weak part of me and got rid of it. So, it's a bit of column A, a little bit of column B. I'm good, but not good enough, not yet."
His smile didn't fade as he held up his hand, a threat of magic.
"So I gather tribute as to one day prove myself worthy. Besides, knights like you are on the wrong side of history. You should rectify those mistakes."
"Now, be a good knight and fall."
Kyuseisha no Hikari Targeting a single person, Apollo makes eye contact with their target, and puts them into a state of sensory deprivation/hallucination. It can be used twice in battle and last 30 seconds. In this state the target cannot feel, see, hear, taste, touch anything- their mind is active, and they hallucinate that which is their darkest fears. They can still move, attack/lash out and talk, but they cannot infer anything happening around or to them. Ya'll ******** seen Age of Ultron we're pull'n some scarlet witch s**t up in here.

Truly, Mamertine had no idea what he was supposed to expect from the magic, but when it hit him he froze. He felt small, in an expanse of black. His eyes were open but he could see nothing—no movement, no depth. Everything seemed still—no movement, no sound.
Nothing.
He opened his mouth to say something, only when words should have fallen from his lips, he heard nothing.
Mamertine was not initially afraid; he assumed there was some small glitch in his mind or something. He couldn’t be dead; the Senshi hadn’t attacked.
A slow fear grew in him, but he had never been one to express emotions very well. He saw nothing, in the hallucination—but then, perhaps that was his greatest fear.
Being alone. Being nothing.
Being helpless.
He tried to grip his hand tighter, to collect himself, but he could feel no pressure.
It was becoming increasingly more difficult to collect himself; there wasn’t even an energy signature that he could detect.
To Alum, it must have looked as though Mamertine was glowering into the empty space before him, stoic and unmoving, sans the movement of his eyes as he searched for something, anything.
He could move, but it didn’t feel like he was moving.
So, he waited, for something—anything—as he tried to stomach the strange, growing alarm that began to well in his stomach.

Watching his own magic take place was terrifying in it's own right. Alum wasn't new to it's use, but every person reacted so differently. Every person had some sort of reaction that filled a sort of perverse sense of a power trip for him but in this instance, Alum wasn't feeling it.
The man wasn't reacting. He wasn't moving or screaming or twitching at all. In fact, with the exception of his eyes, he was fairly statuesque. Which hardly was of any fun for the corrupt senshi. He was going to steal the starseed sure, but, it was pointless unless he got a bit of satisfaction from the whole ordeal. Scowling, he walked over to the knight, humming as he thought of what to do.
A tiny smile, he pat the man on the face. "Maybe you'll be a good tribute after a little softening up yeah?"
Alum threw the hardest punch he could muster into the man's gut.

For the longest moment, Mamertine hadn’t felt anyting. Not externally, at least.
Slowly, and then suddenly, he felt pain; coming out of Alum’s magic was vicious and his mind reeled to jerk back into the here and now. His eyes widened more, first with the obvious haste of trying to figure out what was going on.
And then they narrowed, in anger.
“I don’t really like the way you play,” he said coldly. He was winded, and in pain; the punch had been enough to have him nearly double over but this only really occurred to him as he was pushing himself into a standing position. He had no doubt that he’d have a bruise in the morning, but thankfully this had been a gut punch. A part of him still wanted to vomit from the sheer sensation of the punch, but a part of him just wanted to see Alum hurt, too.
So, he drew his arm back and returned the favor of the hardest punch he could muster; he aimed it towards the Senshi’s stomach.
For fair payment, of course.
