It had taken Sabine some time to track down Caedus' new location - not that she faulted their visitor for moving house. He was a guest on their world - a guest she was sure felt unwelcome at times, knowing that the Negaverse was always hunting him and would stop at nothing to drag him back to their dark dimension if they ever found out he was free. Sir Caedus had earned her loyalty and friendship, by simply being there to listen and talk.

The gift of a unicorn horn hadn't hurt either. Okay, so it probably wasn't REALLY a unicorn horn - but Caedus had said it had come form a horned horse of some sort so she was inclined to believe at one time unicorns had in fact existed somewhere in the galaxy and that made them magical SPACE unicorns and that was just even better.

She had taken that gift, sought out one of the Mauvian Guardians, and with his help, had refined it into a useful tool. The flashlight was usually kept stored in her jacket until needed, but now she held it in her hand, using it's soft glowing light to guide her friends to where Caedus made his home.

She paused at the edge of the woods, trying to feel for his signature, hoping that he would be nearby. On her back was her black tactical backpack. After their encounter with the four Negaverse agents, Sabine has not left home without it. Though she had dropped a significant amount of money on the thing - had upgraded to an actual tactical bag from an online store, and had stocked one whole section of it with medical supplies. Her mag-light she kept in a large elastic slide ring for when she needed a light she felt okay with leaving on the ground. The rest of the backpack she filled with a few thermoses and some snacks, as well as a pair of binoculars and a few other tools she felt might come in handy if she ever ran into the need.

But it was not that cargo that was important. No, it was the large basket she carried in her left hand. Anyone who looked at it would know immediately what her plans were. It was a large, pale wicker thing. Inside was a large blanket, several plates of snacks and sandwiches, and several thermoses of tea and coffee. She did after all - have to feed five.

Turning finally to the three other women with her, Sabine smiled softly. "Thank you all for coming with me." She said with a nod of her head. "Especially you, Imperatrix, I know that you've been tossed into this whole thing feet first, so I'm really glad you were willing to come with me on this trip. I think you'll like Sir Caedus. He's nice. But, please, be polite - he's a guest and I'd rather not have him feel unwelcome."

Perhaps that last part had not needed to be said - but Sabine felt VERY protective of her friend from beyond the stars. Though it had been a long time since she'd seen him last - and she had grown considerably in her own power since then - she still saw the cloaked figure as a friend. A friend deserving of protection, care, and most importantly of all - hugs.

"Do you all mind waiting here while I see if he's around? We'll have a picnic regardless if he's not... I just don't want to suddenly throw four people into his house unexpectedly, you know? That'd be rude!" Of them, she knew some had visited him - but Imperatrix had not been awakened when he'd come to them, tired, scared, and newly freed from his prison. Imperatrix had been saved from suffering the hell that was Negaspace, and to that end, Sabine was grateful. They needed at least one person in the group untainted by the horrors of war - the TRUE horrors of war.

She just hoped Imperatrix could avoid it for just a while longer.

Phaaaact I know you've seen him.

I know Kastra saw him at the portal opening but I dunno if she visted him one-on-one

And Imperatrix is a new baby - so she's never met him! Also we'll do a round and then I'll call him in so it's not just suddenly BAM - Magic man!

"OK just because I don't generally like most men doesn't mean I groin-shot them on sight. We haven't reached that level of patriarchal bullcrap yet." Imperatrix pointed out, delicately putting splayed fingers to her chest in a display of mock offense. "Besides you trust the guy. Hermit. Wizard. Whatever. I'm not going to brain him, I promise. I mean all bets are off if his magical alien wizard culture greets people by firmly groping them like produce at the supermarket but I figure you'd warn me if that was a thing in the name of not having diplomatic incidents with the neighboring magical kingdoms, Princess."

The grin was slowly spreading across 'Trix's face as she went on , impishly adjusting the strap of her sport bag and the new bat she was carrying. She was still debating sinking the money into aluminum or carbon fiber, but it was hard to tell which was going to hold up better to the sort of... not... sport... activities she was going to be putting it through. So far all she knew it was best just to start keeping spares.

"So no big deal, We're going to have a picnic in the woods with a magic space wizard, and we just got a magic wand to go with our secret and now awakened magical abilities. It's cool. I got this. Now if he's got a spell to make it so I don't have to foil wrap chunks of my hair every time I want to redo my look, that would be some pretty kick a** magic. I could go for that."

"Oh and Dad is threatening to buy me a container of bear spray after the story about the coyote. You think it's worth it for the kit?"

'The Kit' was fast becoming the loose term for both bags in 'Trix's book, her own and Sabine's, though her's had mostly acted previously as a pseudo purse and a good way to tote her bat, partially unzipped so she could pull it out. "Otherwise I'll just clip it somewhere in down time, it'll make him happy. Although now I kinda wonder what would happen if you bear sprayed an actual coyote. That seems like overkill. Isn't it supposed to be like super pepper spray?"

She'd innocently suggested a taser, mostly on the grounds that she'd love to zap the jerk with the dog monster, but that apparently had legality issues and fell under the argument that he'd prefer to unleash her with things that 'washed off'. Also he had validly pointed out she would try and 'test' it.

She would.

When she had been asked to attend this picnic, she had had no idea that it would be a powered affair. yet, here she stood, in her fuku, watching as Sabine vanished into the woods to call upon the final guest that would join them.

Kastra had been hoping for a time with friends. A time where the troubles of being a senshi and a member of a court no longer mattered. All of that seemed to be a distant memory as of late, and hell, it might very well ever come to that again.

She had only brought a small bag. One she could sling over one shoulder and keep the other pretty much clear of anything. She knew she was sporting new scars and she would much rather not irritate them.

She turned her eyes to Imperatrix. She smiling softly as she listened to the woman's words. "Caedus is a good man. Secretive and mysterious to a fault, but I do not sense malice in him. I never have. If nothing else he seems wizened and lost in this world, and that alone has endeared him to us in full."

She, herself, had never spoken one on one with the man. Though she did know that Sabine had done so and that was enough for her. Sabine was one of the smarter members of the group and if she were to trust this man, Kastra did not see any reason to question it.

As he only one of them without a bag, Phact honestly felt a bit out of place among her friends. But at the same time, she might have been the only one more used to dealing with things as they come than bringing the entire house with them. Each one had what they felt was important for their safety and Phact could only shake her head watching them.

"You all know that much stuff is going to weigh you down and slow you up if we get ambushed." Phact chuckled, following behind and casting one more glance at the direction they had come. "Or they are going to steal it when you drop it to fight."

The phone call had come and Sabine had mentioned Caedus. It had been a long time since the senshi of doves had laid eyes on their visitor but she still wore and treasured the crystal he gave her. Even now she had it resting under her fuku.

"Trix, don't worry. If the man insults you, I doubt he realizes it. Caedus has spent the past one thousand years locked away in what can best be considered den of monsters so he might be lacking on today's manners. Also..." Her eyes show to Sabine with the telling 'down girl' look. "Just as Sabine is protective of us, she's protective of him. He did give her a unicorn horn after all."

Stepping up, she nodded towards Kastra. "I like the idea of a wizard. Maybe a Crystal Wizard?"

Sabine's eyes widened at Imperatrix's barb, her cheeks puffing up as her face began to turn red. This face was maintained for a few seconds before the eyes narrowed and her mouth set into a firm, thin-lipped frown, followed by a loss of all color as she went livid and began to open her mouth, only to catch Phact's own barb and Kastra's own vouching of Caedus. Her mouth moved once or twice silently, fully processing what Phact had said as well as Trix's actual meaning.

"Sir Caedus is a noble, sensible man who does not generally like to be touched but will do so if you are polite and considerate of his personal space. I very much doubt he will actively try and GROPE you, Imperatrix. Should he, I will be the first to chastise him for his impropriety, rest assured." Sabine said, her tone not quite terse but hardly warm. "Now if you will excuse me, me and my bulky pack will go and make sure he's home and welcoming visitors.

Sabine knew that she was being a brat at this point. But she supposed she was allowed that every once and awhile. Her tactical pack had yet to cause her any issue thus far - and she found it too much of a resource to even contemplate giving it up now. Still she turned into the forest, clearing her throat. "Sir Caedus? Are you home? It's Sabine, I brought some refreshments and some friends I'd like you to meet. I have something I'd really like to show you."

She stayed withing eye-shot of the group, not wanting them to worry that she'd vanished into the trees.

While Caedus was usually wary with only a single guest, a group had immediately put him on edge. He had lingered near the treeline but thought it might have been wisest to leave then before they started searching—until he recognized one of them.

He wound up leaning against a tree, observing curiously.

When Sabine approached, he thought she certainly must have seen him—she seemed to have come in a straight line towards him. He did not keep her waiting for long before pushing himself off of the tree and approaching.

“I would not call this ‘home’, but I am here, yes. I have not seen you in some time,” he said as he moved from the shadows. Briefly, his golden eyes flickered to the group waiting for her. His hood was still drawn and he seemed to feel safer in the shadows beneath the trees but for her, he moved nearer. “I am glad to see you well. If your friends are as kind as you are, I would like to meet them.” Naturally curious, he managed to take another step—as if he expected her to escort him to her friends—though as he did so, he did not hesitate to ask, “What is it you wanted to show me?”

Sabine nodded her head slowly to Caedus. "My apologies Sir Caedus, your current haunting grounds might perhaps be a better term? I do apologize for the length of time between visits, but I have been very busy dealing with the Negaverse and some other personal matters. I shall endeavor to ensure that not so much time passes before my next visit." She said with a small smile.

"You need not worry, my friends are very kind - we have formed a court - if you will. I do not know if you can recall any of these things from your travels?" She asked as she placed the basket down in the clearing, pulling out the blankets to lay them out for everyone to sit. "Everyone, you may approach!" She called out. "He is here and he is welcome to meet us!"

She turned to Caedus then and nodded. "I brought three friends with me. I will do the proper introductions once they arrive." She added with a nod, before reaching into her jacket to pull out the flashlight she and Arthur had crafted.

"But look! I have taken your gift and crafted it into something that assists me in my life as a Senshi..." She said, holding the flashlight up to him to show him how it had been made. "I wanted to show you that I had taken your gift to heart, and now I carry it with me always - it reminds me that sometimes guidance can come from unexpected places."

It was all quite formal sounding, enough to make Imperatrix shift around and fiddle with her braid. She didn't feel quite as home when things started sounding formal, and for lack of better word 'fancy', like being a formal tea in dirty farm overalls, not sure what she was exactly supposed to do during formal presentation of unicorn horns to space wizards.

"Um, Hey." She offered up, as she approached trying to decide if she should continue being casual or imitate Sabine, dropping the end of her braid in favor of a small, slightly awkward wave as she tried to pretend she wasn't entirely lost on how to handle this, now that she was past making Sabine a bit crazy.

Kastra had waited patiently. She knew that Sir Caedus was not the type to take in guests easily. It was only when Sabine called out from the darkness of the trees that Kastra smiled and nodded her head.

She glanced at Imperatrix and laughed as the girl seemed more than stressed over the whole situation. She placed hand on her shoulder, squeezing lightly before walking into the trees herself. "All is well..be yourself and he will know you are genuine."

Once she was face to dace with Caedus, She gave a deep bow. Her long hair trailing on the ground beneath her as she moved. She knew he was worthy of all the respect he was given, for he was the visitor in their world.

"Sir Caedus...it is a pleasure to be in your presence again. Thank you for allowing this audience and small picnic.." As she became more formal, her accent only grew, that small sing-song tone coming in hard over the woman's natural alto tone.

"It has been too long since last I had seen you, though I am certain you do not remember me." She glanced to Sabine, knowing that she wished to make the introductions. She would not steal that from her. "Though I will leave it to Sabine to introduce us properly."

Phact had fallen back a step or two from the others. She had the pleasure of meeting Caedus before so she felt no introduction was needed this time around. After all, she had met him with Kairatos not all that long ago.

However, then she had only mentioned the idea of a court. NOW....well things had changed. Alot...

Stepping over to Imperatrix, Phact placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Relax. I promise we don't have to all become ladies of the court to say hello to Caedus. It's just Sabine's thing." Phact shrugged, with a light smile, dropping her hand back to her side.

"You are you. If you want to say hello by hitting him in the shoulder, I wouldn't recommend it for many reasons but it is a way to say high."

Caedus seemed a bit hesitant at Sabine’s summoning of her friends and stood a little taller when they approached. He was careful to keep his hood drawn; the best impressions usually weren’t made when they saw his true appearance.

His eyes landed on Sabine’s flashlight and he wanted very much to examine it; with the approaching Senshi, he had to banish the desire from his mind.

“Hello,” he greeted when they arrived, but insisted, “There is no need for such formality. I am grateful to have the company, you do not need to strain yourself on my behalf. It is a pleasure to see some of you again. And to meet the rest of you.” He inclined his head as best he could while still keeping his eyes on the group; he was trying to be friendly, but he erred on the side of caution whenever he could manage.

“Some of you are familiar to me. Please forgive me if I have not had time yet to commit your name to memory. I will do so now.”

Still, he bowed his head just slightly to everyone, and just slightly moreso to the Senshi he’d already had the pleasure of meeting.

There were enough that he was already fairly comfortable with that he returned his gaze to Sabine’s flashlight.

“I am impressed with your craftsmanship, I did not know the crystal could be fashioned in such a manner. May I see what you have made with it?” he asked; he did not reach to take it until he was certain he had Sabine’s permission.

Sabine nodded easily, handing over the flashlight to the cloaked man without a second thought. "I had help - of course - one of the Guardians, Arthur, helped me with the technical bits. But the design is mostly mine..."

The Crystal Horn was socketed into a modified version of the henshin pen handle, which held all the dials and selector switches for the flashlight, namely color and intensity - as well as the on-off selector. "I'm not sure how he did it, but it feeds off my senshi magic in order to power itself - so there's no real need to worry about a battery or it running out of juice unless I do."

She decided to leave out the part where they had accidentally turned it into a death-ray - it had been a VERY isolated incident and early on in testing - and had only occurred because he hadn't gotten the power pull just right.

"We had to... drill into it a little bit..." She made a face at that. "You can't believe how worried I was when we did that - but we were super careful and it works great so..." She shrugged a bit. "I mean - you helped inspire me to be a good senshi so..." She felt her words faltering - partly because of the audience, but mostly because she hadn't really thought of what she had been going to say to explain it. "I just... wanted to give your already amazing present even more meaning - you know?"

With a slight blush she lifted up the basket. "Oh, I brought... snacks and tea and the like - I mean, if you'd not mind a bit of a picnic to get to know my court..." Well - not hers in the sense of leadership - that would be Phact's role.. but her's in the sense of camaraderie, but she hoped that was clear.
