Trainee Classes

Trainee classes start as an entry point class for characters who have very little to no experience on the battlefield. These units typically have low stats, but in exchange have a plethora of class options to choose from after promoting.

Squire
Attendants to established knights, Squires tend to favor supporting the front lines with ranged throwing spears or javelins as they don’t have the armor to protect themselves like their sires. Uses Lances, promotes to Cavalier or Knight.

Recruit
Freshly added troops to the army, Recruits are trained by some of the veteran soldiers in a given army. Well not nearly as potent as their mentors, Recruits still fight alongside them at the front lines. Uses Lances, promotes to Soldier or Spear Fighter

Rookie
Eager to learn the ways of swordsmanship, Rookies are a welcome sight on the battlefield. Their unique versatility allows them to strike both offensively, with powerful finishing attacks, and defensively, countering a foe’s attack back to them. Uses Swords, promotes to Myrmidon or Mercenary.

Journeyman
Placed under the watchful eye of a blacksmith or fighter, Journeyman tend to support their master as they go about their profession, while observing their techniques to learn from them. Uses Axes, promotes to Blacksmith or Fighter

Ruffian
An outlaw with no formal training, a Ruffian simply fights for the sake of fighting, developing their skills on a whim. While they tend to not have any true masters, they do join other groups of bandits or pirates. Uses Knives, promotes to Barbarian or Pirate.

Initiate
Newly initiated in any of many orders, Initiates are very capable healers. On the battlefield they stay a fair distance away from the frontlines, only tending to the wounded who have retreated or remained behind due to their wounds. Uses Staves, promotes to Missionary/Troubadour or Priest/Cleric.

Pupil
An upcoming mage placed under the tutelage of an older mage, Pupils typically practice their magic in a controlled environment rather than a battlefield, though they can hold their own while supporting the front lines from behind. Use Anima Tomes, promotes to Acolyte or Mage.

Adept
Naturally powerful spellcasters, Adepts use their magic whenever possible as they typically have no teacher to mentor them. Some Adepts tend to join bandit gangs in order to provide for themselves. Uses Dark Tomes, promotes to Dark Mage or Hex Mage

Apprentice
Placed under the guidance of an skilled bowman, Apprentices learn to master the bow anywhere from hunting game to supporting the battlefield warriors from a far. Uses Bows, promotes to Archer or Nomad.

Knave
Typically a common street thug, Knaves use both tricks and street smarts, rather than brute strength, to defeat enemies. They are also capable on the battlefield as well moving swiftly as they weaken enemies with precise strikes. Uses Knives, promotes to Ninja or Thief.

Scout
As lightly armed horseback mounted units, Scouts typically only serve the battlefield by locating enemy units then reporting their findings to their superiors. They can defend themselves if discovered and attack, but likely will flee the moment they get the chance. Uses Lances, promotes to Sky Knight, Wyvern Rider, or Iolare Knight.

Performer
Whether on the streets, or on the stage, Performers can inspire those who watch and listen to their show. They are not too experienced in combat, but their songs and dances are often sought out to inspire soldiers who are weary from battle. Uses Knives, promotes to Dancer or Bard.

Base Classes

The majority of armies are formed from Base Classes. Their stats begin to skew towards a particular set up as they develop their skills, as well as developing her efficiency to particular weapons.

Cavalier
Swift and fierce, Cavaliers serve as a fast strike force focused on either hit and run tactics or rescue mission, pulling their allies onto their horse for a quick escape. Uses Swords/Lances, promotes to Paladin/Great Knight.

Knight
Heavily armored, Knights serve as an ironwall to blunt the force of enemy attacks. Capable of easily shielding nearby allied units, Knights are best suited to the frontlines where their defense be most useful. Uses Lances, promotes to Great Knight or General.

Soldier
The most common rank and file unit, Soldiers are a balanced unit with slightly above average defense thanks to their light armor. Favoring a defensive formations, they strike hard and allow their allies to attack alongside them. Uses Lances, promotes to General or Sentinel.

Spear Fighter
Fast and skillful, Spear Fighters strike with precision strikes at a high speed. Though fragile, Spear Fighters make use of their speed to strike multiple times to incapacitate foes. Uses Lances, promotes to Sentinel or Master of Arms.

Myrmidon
Skilled in the art of swords, Myrmidon rely heavily on speed and skill to take down their foes. Though they are weak in defenses, they use their speed for hit and run tactics. Uses Swords, promotes to Swordmaster or Master of Arms.

Mercenary
Seasoned swordsmen, Mercenary’s are stronger and better defended than others. They rely on skill to take down their opponents, and often use swords that will give them the upperhand in combat. Uses Swords, Promotes to Adventurer or Hero.

Blacksmith
Intuitive in weapons, Blacksmiths are Journeymen who have found their calling in building weapons. Being around a forge makes them hardy and strong, as well as well-versed in battling opponents. Uses Axes, promotes to Master Smith.

Fighter
Having traveled around to many different places and fighting in many different ways, Fighters are excellent soldiers, with high strength and skill. Uses Axes, promotes to Hero or Warrior.

Barbarian
Savage and brutal in their tactics, Barbarians use raw power to tear through the enemy ranks. This leaves them very vulnerable to attacks, but the best defense can be a strong offense. Uses Axes, promotes to Warrior or Berserker.

Pirate
A warrior who sails on the open seas, the Pirate is handy to have during water sieges. They know the ships in and out, and aren’t slowed by the waters of the ocean. Uses Axes, promotes to Berserker or Raider.

Missionary/Troubadour
A stave-wielder that takes up on a horse, the Missionary and Troubadours are able to ride quickly to their allies to aid them using their healing staves. Their defenses are little, but they make up for it with incredible magic and fast movement. Uses Staves, promotes to Strategist or War Cleric/War Monk.

Priest/Cleric
Though weak in defenses and movement, Priests and Clerics have high magic and luck, giving them a chance to perform miracles. Uses Staves, promotes to War Cleric/War Monk or Abbot/Abbess

Acolyte
A tome user who tends to use light magic, Acolytes prefer to aid their allies and smite their enemies with holy magic. Uses Light Tomes, promotes to Abbott/Abbess or Slayer/Valkyrie.

Mage
A user of Anima tomes, Mages have as much variety to them as the anima tomes they can use. While having low defense, they possess a high magic and skill in order to make sure their spells meet their mark. Uses Anima Tomes, promotes to Sage or Mage Knight.

Dark Mage
Using mysterious magics, Dark Mages are skilled in the use of both dark and anima magic. Possessing a very high magic, Dark Mages are a force to be reckoned with if left unchecked. Uses Dark and Anima Tomes, promotes to Mage Knight or Sorcerer.

Hex Mage
A caller of dark spirits and curses, a Hex Mage specializes in dark magic which they use in tandem with debilitating effects added from their curses. With a higher defense than other mages,
Hex Mages can make for a frightening foe. Uses Dark Tomes, promotes to Sorcerer or Warlock.

Archer
A highly skilled fighter, Archers support the others in the army from afar with volley of arrows. Possessing a high skill, they make quick work of lightly armored enemies while remaining in relative safety by their distance from the enemy. Uses Bows, promotes to Sniper or Bow Knight.

Nomad
A fighter who chooses the life of a plainsman, Nomads ride on horses, and travel around the world, not having a place to really call home. They are skilled archers, and their horses are able to trek through more treacherous terrain much easier than other land-based horses. Uses Bows, promotes to Vagabond or Nomad Trooper.

Ninja
A silent warrior with mysterious origins, Ninjas strike quickly and effectively against their targets. Using their skill and speed, they can drop targets quickly or instead weaken them with ranged attacks. Uses Knives, promotes to Shinobi or Assassin.

Thief
A sneaky fighter, Thieves tend to not directly fight enemies, rather engage them at range. They as have the ability to pick locks of doors and chests to gain access to new routes or equipment. Uses Knives, promotes to Rogue or Trickster.

Sky Knight
Mounted upon the winged pegasi, Sky Knights survey the battlefield from above. With their high speed and resistance, Sky Knights make excellent mage hunters, but must be wary of most bow uses as they can prove most fatal. Uses Lances, promotes to Falcon Knight or Dark Falcon.

Wyvern Rider
Mounted on fierce wyverns, Wyvern Riders command the skies with a terrifying force, attacking with a power most frightening. While they are weak to bows and magic, these riders have higher defenses, and are hard to take down. Uses Axes, promotes to Wyvern Lord or Malig Knight.

Iolare Knight
Mounted on giant birds from the mountains, Iolare Knights can fly through the air with great speed and agility, taking out their foes quickly. Their abilities are quite balanced. Like the other flying units, Iolare Knights are weak to bows. Uses Swords, promotes to Iolare Captain and Griffon Rider.

Dancer
With motions as graceful as they are beautiful, Dancers perform for their allies to give them the strength to fight on. While they are still inexperienced in combat, they are still highly regarded in the army for their talents to inspire hope. Uses Swords, promotes to Blade Dancer

Bard
Using a variety of instruments and song to perform, Bards can inspire soldiers to press on in battle. Unlike the Dancers, who must dance alongside the soldiers, the Bards can stay back on the lines, and allow their songs to be heard over the whole army. Uses Light Tomes, promotes to Minstrel.
