Aylie

Aylie felt her soft, almond-colored locks sweep over her cheek with the barest brush on her skin. She shook her head in an attempt to push away the annoying fly away. Just as she lied herself cautiously next to her sleeping child- careful not to disturb him- she heard a deafening roar from a distance. Her mind conjured the image akin to canon fire. Before she could gather her thoughts over the peculiar instance, the train lurched forward, the wheels straining against the tracks in a high pitched squeal of pain. Then, without warning, let out a loud screech and wrenched backwards, toppling over its mass, sending the contents spewing in all directions.

Her eyes gaped wide as furniture abruptly groaned and flew off the hinges, giving her seconds to react to the desk. She threw herself over Iwan's tiny, fragile body as the wooden object whizzed by her head, the back leg catching her temple on the way drawing a ribbon of blood. She gasped as the bed heaved upward, pinning them both between the wall and the plush mattress. She groaned slightly against the pressure, as she felt the train's mass grind against the dusty earth, unable to fight it's own weight, it flipped over and over. She could only feel the earth whirring, color, and light becoming one entity as if she was viewing a painting of spurring lines in continuous motion. She gripped hers son tightly, hoping that she wasn't crushing him.

The train abruptly spun out, flinging the mattress from the wall into the parallel door, sending her, the furniture, and Iwan sprawling across the room, She felt him slip away from her in the tumble. No! She desperately reached out to him, hoping to grab a piece of his clothing, an arm, something. "Iwan!" Her thoughts ended as the ceiling caved, the fracture unable to hold sturdy under the devastating impact the cart sustain, filling the room with metal and rock and debris. She cried out and covered her head, her eyes still searching for her son. "Iwan! Iwan, baby, can you hear me?" Nothing. The train rumbled under her sore body, caught in the under rungs of the mattress wedged against the door frame. Why couldn't it be the soft part? She gritted her teeth and attempted to adjust her body even as the train propelled forward, deteriorating as it went. She noticed, then, that the desk was perched precariously on top of her suitcase and its matching chair and as the toppled cart veered, she watched in horror as the desk flew from atop its resting place, slamming into her head, knocking her body onto the debris ridden floor.

Spots blurred her vision, knots formed in her stomach. She felt her body ready to wretch with nausea. "I-Iwan..." She mumbled. Filth covered her body, twisted unnaturally under what she believed to be the desk, shattered. She felt it's weight on her back and right arm, pinning her. She recovered her senses slowly. Vision returned, albeit fuzzy for several moments. She could hear nothing at first, followed by a shrilling ring that lasted for what appeared hours. She could not grasp her thoughts or her surroundings. "What happened?" Her chest tightened, and she felt the acute urge to cough, followed by the irrevocable drive vomit. Suddenly, she heaved everything she had eaten that day onto the floor in front of her. Still unable to move, she shied away from the mess, inevitably sliding her direction from the tilt in the train car. She had no idea if her paralysis was attributed to the slow recovery of her senses or something else. She revolting stench caused her to jerk away from the source. She cried out in pain, a sharp agony shooting through a centralized location in her lower back. She squeezed her eyes shut, willing for it to all be over. "Somebody..." She attempted to flex her fingers and watched them bend at her will. Good. Not paralyzed. She pushed herself with her left arm as a crutch, but felt the familiar stabbing in her back and found her right arm wedged in the carnage of splintered wood and round columns, what she assumed were bed posts. Her head swam and throbbed. Vision hazed and cleared, and blurred once more.

Why am I here? I feel something terribly... important. She felt her consciousness fade. What was it? She spat out the last of the dust and decay from her acidic mouth, though could not get rid of the awful bitter taste in her mouth. As she lay in her own fluids and grime, she could not shake the nagging feeling that she was forgetting something. Her lips parted and she attempted to call out for someone, but she halted. Who would she call for? "He-lp... Anyone... Someone..." Her voice trembled, hot tears of frustration and despair cleared paths from the filth on her cheeks. She summoned as much strength as she could and put it forth into her call. "Help!"

Stand down, Elysian scum.

"Rider!" The very word resonated throughout the army as a Rider appeared from the wreckage and charged toward them.

Darwin, leading the charge, saw this mysterious red Kamen Rider change and move towards them. Reflexively, without breaking his stride, he reached for the belt inside of his duster and wrapped it around his waist in a fluid motion. The belt clicked into place, hugging his waist, as he pulled the knuckle from another inner pocket. He held the knuckle before him, and pressed it against the open palm of his left hand, as though he had locked himself in prayer.

The knuckle came to life.

RE-DI-I!

"Henshin!" Darwin cried out, resolute, as he attached the knuckle to the belt.

FI-SU-TO O-NU

A golden projection of the IXA armor erupted from his belt, several feet in front of him, and met him as he ran toward it. The surge of power coursed through his veins as the golden light bound to him and took shape in armored plates of white, gold, and blue. The crest of the sun burned on his chest before the light faded to leave only the marking behind. The golden cross upon his helmet concealed his burning stare behind a thin black visor intersecting it. He came to a stop mere yards from the opposing rider, gripping the automatic weapon--the IXA Calibur--that had also appeared with the system.

"I'll handle him," Darwin barked, ordering his men. "Go forward! Tend to the wounded civilians, and kill the soldiers!"

The crowd cheered in varying degrees of zest and rowdiness. Running past the two suited figures as the arid winds whipped unforgiving grains of sand against their armored bodies. They were alone now, or so they thought, and now it was time to wage war against another.

He lifted the barrel of the IXA Calibur to the red Rider's helmet, his finger itching the trigger.

"Stand down, Elysian scum."

Hiro wasted no time in dispatching the first few men that ran towards him. With a few precise punches and kicks, he knocked them out with one strike. That was another of his many skills. He spun around kicking another man before his eyes rested Darwin. He was surprised and horrified as the man started to transform into another rider. 'Another Rider, did this?' He thought as he felt his blood begin to boil.

Hiro's fist clenched as the rest of the men ran around them, leaving the two rider's alone. He looked up at the other rider as he held his weapon at him. "You did this?" He asked as he kept his voice steady. "Why? The people on this train were good people, most of them archaeologist and other scientist." He said as he started to shake some. "Riders are supposed to protect people! Not kill them!" He yelled angerly as tears streamed down his face. Of course this could not be seen inside of the helmet.

"You don't deserve that belt." He said as he got into a fighting stance. "And I am going to take it from you so you can never hurt another soul again." He growled. He suddenly jumped into the air, doing a back flip as Gouram charged towards the other rider. Hiro landed and grinned under his helmet. "It's about time you got here you dumb bug." He said before he charged at the other rider behined the bike.

BURST MODE!

Darwin, behind the visor, winced against the words of his opponent. He didn't know civilians were on board. The intelligence he received...it said military only. To harm civilians and their families.... No--he'd never.

But you just did. His own thoughts resounded, cutting and barbed. Darwin. Leader of Seraph. Freedom Fighter. Murderer.

"I--" Darwin choked out, almost inaudible.

The momentary loss of concentration and resolve had been enough to cause him not to foresee the next attack. The large metallic beetle struck his chest at a high velocity, crashing against his armor as sparks showered the sand. He was sent flying until he came to rest in the sands, rolling and coming to stand quickly, though his movements were strained while waves of pain had seared through him. Meanwhile, the beetle veered away and merged with a bike that the crimson Rider mounted with such profound agility. As the now augmented bike roared, Darwin leapt to the left, tucking and rolling whilst the craft sped past where he stood. He narrowly evaded the large blade protruding from the bike. As he continued to roll over coarse sands, he pulled the trigger of the IXA Calibur--opening fire on the bike as he gracefully came to his feet.

He steeled himself over. His will to fight returned.

Elysia was a nation of corruption, coercion, and murder. This red Rider, who spouted sentiments of honor and righteousness, was nothing more than a hypocrite, siding with a nation whose hands were stained with the blood of anyone he ever knew or loved.

This Rider--

The cross opened on his helmet to reveal glowing red eyes while a scorching wave of flames erupted from his frame, dispersing as they flared out.

--was his enemy.

Hiro quickly drove over a Dune as his shots exploded the sand around him. He turned the bike sideways, pulling on the brake to slow himself down as it came to a halt. 'Can't use long range. Don't have enough time. I need to disarm him first.' He thought as he got off of the bike. He placed his right hand in front of him and his left hand over his belt. "Cho Henshin!" He called as belt core changed to purple. His armor quickly followed suit, becoming much thicker and wider. He reached over and pulled out his bike handle before he headed back up over the hill.

Once he stood on top of it, he looked down at the rider as his mask opened up to reveal blazing red eyes. Hiro could tell from his stance that he was confident in his abilities to win. But so was Hiro. He would make him pay for all of the lives he had just taken. The now purple and silver rider started to walk down the hill, the handle bar in his hand transforming into a large blade. He couldn't move very well in this form but he had a strategy that always worked. 'Endure.' He told himself.

No Fear! No Pain!
As long as he stands for love!
No Fear! No Pain!
There is nothing that needs to be feared!
