-Weightless Wood-

On another world, a woman dreamed. She was walking through a forest.
The moss on the ground sprung under her feet, sending her several feet into
the air with each step. The trees and bushes had no bases - they simply hung
in the air, floating. As she walked, she heard a soft ringing through the woods,
a comforting sound. She smiled. The ringing grew into a beeping, startling her.
She woke to her alarm clock going off next to her, so with regret she got up
and went to work. The woman woke, but the dream remained.

In the Wasteland there is now a large forest, full of floating trees, springy
moss, and vast cliffs and gorges- not so dangerous, when you consider that
you can basically jump across them. In certain places, a faint ringing can still
be heard.

"No."

"I just said no."

"Okay seriously stop this s**t."

Was most of what Blair said when Ronnie kept requesting her to play road games with him on their journey to the Wasteland. Blair obviously felt like she was on some kind of hell-trip with a five year old. She was counting how many days left until she dies because of this absurd b*****d, however, that didn't matter because her vengeful spirit would haunt him for his whole eternity in Rhiod. The only thing she bothered to get was a shoulder bag that had small snacks stolen bought from the Bar back in the guild. The duo continued walking until they were finally in the Wasteland. Well, more specifically, they ended up in the Weightless Wood. "Ooh, this is my first time visiting the Weightless Wood, it's prett-" She was cut off as soon as her foot stepped into the springy moss and she was launched several feet into the air. And she continued to bounce up and down on her bottom as her face was emotionless, taking her pure seconds for her to process. She finally was done processing and she opened up her wings, flapping them continuously as she was just hovering above the moss. She looked at Ronnie with this seriously playful smirk. It was fun, but annoying, but fun. "Ooh, it's actually kinda fun. Try it. Step on it." She demanded to him playfully.

As a form of mild amusement Ronnie thought that he might play some of the road trips that he had gathered over the years to help pass the time during their long walk. Sadly, it seemed as though Blair would prefer a quiet walk, that didn't stop him from asking every couple of seconds, ignoring her rejections and beginning to explain the rules of a few games much to her dismay. Ronnie was noticeably more kitted out than when he was back at the guild's base, a small backpack slung over his shoulders with a sleeping bag strapped to the top of that. His backpack contained quite a bit of gear that he always carried with him for missions, food rations, extra clothing and fire making kit were just some of the items that he brought along for the mission, as well as a few pouches of ammunition for his thompson were strapped to his left leg to allow him to easily reload. Speaking of, Ronnie had found his old friend hidden away underneath the bench in the garden, prompting him to question exactly what he was doing at the time to discard the precious weapon so easily.

It wasn't until they had reached the border of the Weightless Woods had Ronnie finally fallen silent, which was never a good sign for anyone that he was with. It usually meant that he was withholding information or could see an aura nearby that wasn't friendly, in this case it was the former as Blair was launched by the springy moss that littered the area. Ronnie had visited the Wastelands a few times, while the area had changed more frequently than most areas he found that some areas seemed to remain completely untouched, the Weightless Woods was one of these places. He couldn't help but get a small laugh as Blair was thrown about by the moss, bouncing from patch to patch until she used her wings to regain her bearings. He flashed a smile when she said that the moss was fun, "Ehhh... think I'll pass, I ain't exactly a valkyrie like yourself." he answered, pointing over his shoulder with his thumb to emphasis the lack of any sort of wings.

Keeping his eyes glued to the ground, Ronnie did his best to avoid any sort of moss, although missing the small hole in the ground that seemed to fall into nothingness. His foot sang into the hole and Ronnie slipped forward, slamming his chin until a patch of green soft... moss, he had barely had the chance to blurt out a curse as he was launched upwards, nothing obstructing his path causing gravity to eventually kick in and send him crashing onto the dirt floor, landing on his stomach. Pushing himself off the ground Ronnie recalled why he didn't visit this particular part of the Wasteland very often, the ground was uneven and holes were common with bits of plant life floating from the dirt and pulling bits of earth along with it, "...case... in point." he remarked as he dusted himself off, mildly annoyed that their trip would take them here of all places.

Blair's smirk turned into a frown as he passed up on stepping onto the springy moss, explaining that, he didn't have wings. Blair made this 'pffft' sound and waved her hand as if to tell him that, 'it was totally fine'. "It's fine. I'll catch you!" She said, and by the time she said so, Ronnie was off and about walking off... Until his foot stepped into a hole, and once he slipped out, he landed on the green moss, and, have fun! He was launched into the air and he fell on his stomach right after the launch. Managing to get up, he made a small remark and dusted himself off with a mild look of annoyance in his face. Blair's cheeks puffed up as she held her hand over her mouth, a snicker managing to escape her mouth, Blair burst out into a fit of laughter.

"Oh my gosh! Oh. My. Gosh! I can't even, that was too hilarious!" She managed to let out, her arm hugging her stomach. "That was amazing!! So...so...so, are you hurt anywhere?!" She asked, not a hint of worry in her voice as she was still laughing stupendously. She started to hyperventilate from too much laughter and she fell on her side in the air. She managed to let out one more laugh. Wiping away the tears of laughter in her eyes, she was still letting out momentary chuckles. Blair inhaled, and exhaled. She cleared her throat. "Okay...anyways...do you...think you can handle going around on ground without falling and jumping?" She asked, having pauses in between to let out a small weird laughter of air. "Do you need me to carry you around?" She asked, a small amused smile playing on her lips.

At the sound of a small snicker escaping Blair Ronnie glanced upwards, seeing her covering her mouth and resisting the urge to laugh... her attempts to do so failing miserably. Closing his eyes, Ronnie's right eyebrow began to twitch furiously while he let out a long sigh and continued to dust himself off, he didn't see what was so hilarious about it, as it was a simple fall... well, simple fall combined with incredibly poor placement creating a much more visually stimulating crash. Opening his eyes back up Ronnie began to glare as Blair questioned whether he was hurt anywhere, her tone didn't appear as concerned as the question would have normally implied, "I'm not made of glass, y'know. But because you asked oh so nicely... No, I am not hurt anywhere, my pride took a sudden sucker punch but all in all I don't feel any worse for wear." he explained, as he took another step forward, rather reluctantly at that too. As he started moving forward he appeared much more focused on watching his footing than making remarks, something that Blair should cherish while the moment lasted.

Taking a few moments to consider his movements Ronnie fell silent, his blank eyes scanning the ground for holes, moss and other strange plants. Glancing upwards, he returned his focus onto Blair, "So... whats the game plan here? We move through the forest looking for this supposed weapon? I seriously doubt that we'll find it here." he questioned, unsure if she was following his lead or if he was supposed to be following hers, had she been following his lead then it might explain how they stumbled upon the wood's borders. Ronnie in all honesty, didn't have a very good sense of direction, he never bothered to learn to read compasses and just sort of wandered until he saw something that was familiar or of interest to him. In fact, this had become such a constant thing for him that nobody expected him back from missions for days or even weeks, a time that most people in the guild had celebrated as if it had been a holiday.

Hopping from small dirt island from small dirt island Ronnie was now only a few feet away from the airborne Blair, he rested his thompson on his right shoulder, "Oh and try to keep an eye out for the islands while you're flying, pieces tend to break off and drift away." his tone seemed to shift, making him sound much more knowledgeable about the place than he previously appeared to be. This was one of the moments where Ronnie was thankful that he didn't have any sort of pupils, hiding the fact that he was watching as a small football sized chunk of dirt, grass and probably various bugs broke off of a much larger chunk of dirt, grass and probably various bugs. He waited until it was a few feet behind her before he extended a finger and pointed at her head, "...sort of like that one, for example." his words were once again accompanied by a more playful and amused tone, hinting that perhaps she should duck or move out of the way or risk being struck by a variety of things that most women didn't like being in their hair.

Blair giggled as Ronnie started becoming infuriated at her laughter of his sudden fall. While it was rude, seeing him of all people do that just made Blair feel extremely victorious. In fact, currently, she was quite grateful that they ended up here, little did she know, that would break instantly not soon after. "Mkay~ Tell me if anywhere starts hurting. I'm not so heartless to leave a comrade injured." She said, imitating a heroic voice, she placed her hand on her chest doing so. Removing her hand off her chest, she noticed how focused, and reluctant to do so, Blair would've pushed him down onto another patch of moss, but come on, shes not that mean. However, the moment would forever be embedded into her memory. Listening to Ronnie ask about the 'game plan' about their quest, Blair let out a rather baffled and absent-minded look. "Oh! I forgot about that. Well, how about we search on ground first, and I can fly around the area later, I'm too lazy and tired right now anyways." She said lazily, starting to follow Ronnie just a few feet behind him.

Ignoring Ronnie's suddenly knowledgeable tone, Blair started to become ignorant, and as he saw him point at her head, Blair turned around and she didn't even have time to duck as her face collided with the chunk of dirt and the other things that would gross any woman out. Blair pushed her face out of the chunk, Blair turned over to Ronnie with a smug smirk, her face completely muddy however. "Hah! I'm not like other women who get grossed out from bugs and dir-" She was cut off as two chunks of earth had hit her in the back of the head and one in her wing, not enough to make it bleed, but enough for her to lose flight and crash into a small dirt island just in front of Ronnie's. Crash landing into a pile of dirt, she was elbow deep into the dirt. She squirmed helplessly, and she managed to push her head out of the dirt before she would die from the suffocation.

Blair breathed for air. She spat out the dirt that was in her mouth, starting to cough. Her hair was a complete mess and had specs of dirt all over, a worm crawled atop her head. Blair pushed herself up to her feet. Breathing heavily from all that ruckus, her wings were stuck together with mud inside the linings. "I will destroy you, I swear!" She yelled at him. Taking one step forward, she accidentally stepped on a soft patch of moss and Blair threw her hands in the air from defeat, getting launched into the air. She bounced on the springy moss. Sending hilarious death glares at Ronnie as she bounced about. "I. Swear. I. Will. Kill. You." Blair said, each word after she bounced.

Ronnie and Blair having these hilarious fights make me think of my brother and I a bit too much. Yes, we jump on springy moss like no one cares.

Meh, I get really seriously anxious whenever I have small posts like this. Glad that I put enough to work it. But yes, single liners are atrocious.

Just as Blair had come up with the plan to search the ground for the weapon Ronnie had to shake his head, "If it had been just lying around on the ground I doubt anyone would've reported it. Someone must've found it and used it at some point, hence why someone had stated that it was a powerful weapon... wish there was more info on it, but whatever, that's the point of adventure, right?" he answered, explaining how he saw it, but it was entirely possible that he was wrong about the weapon's whereabouts, there was still a slight chance that the weapon was discarded or placed in hiding by the one who initially found it. It would be rather lucky of them to find the weapon without an owner, but the thought of something being reported to the Treasure Hunters' Guild without someone having found it and discovered what made it so powerful didn't seem very likely to him.

Watching as the chunk of dirt collide with the side of Blair's face, he hadn't expected her to be so slow on the draw but it definitely served as a source of amusement for Ronnie. Even better was when a couple of other clumps of dirt slammed against her wings, effectively gluing bits of her wings together and forcing her to the ground, face first no less. She wasn't horribly injured but she certainly had a bit of trouble pulling herself from the mud to prevent a slow painful death of asphyxiation, not that he would let her die. Ronnie was a horrible person, very much so, but he wouldn't let an ally die right in front of him useless he was truly powerless to prevent it. He remained standing exactly where he was as Blair returned to her feet and was promptly launched by the "bounce moss", as Ronnie would now call, throughout the entire series of events Ronnie kept the same amused look on his face. The best part about all of this was the fact that he didn't even need to do a single thing, no use of powers, no words, he only watched as one thing led into the next.

Although like all good things, this had to come to an end, mainly to prevent an unnecessary injury or death on Blair's part. Ronnie pulled his attention off of the hilarious acrobatic display that she had been putting on to focus on the ground around him. There was still quite a bit of moss and he would need to keep himself from being launched if he hoped to get out of here alive, watching his steps Ronnie moved from isle to isle, trying to prevent another mishap. Stopping every couple of seconds to return his focus back onto the airborne Blair he cupped his hands around his mouth like a microphone, "Try to hit something not covered in moss! ...like a tree" he shouted up to her muttering the last bit under his breath with a smirk on his face. He did so in hope that she might take his recommendation and maneuver out of the way of the various bounce moss patches that seemed to surround the forest's many floating islands.

Blair was completely aware of how amused Ronnie was, seeing the amused face he had on the whole time she jumped on the bouncy moss. Her eyes showing the angel of death. Blair squirmed, trying her utter best to get out of the mess of a bouncy moss. In fact, the little island she was on was horribly covered in the damn thing. Hearing Ronnie's suggestion, Blair nodded reluctantly, and squirmed over to the floating tree on the island, once she grabbed the leaves, a wave of relief hit Blair and she climbed up top the tree. Even though that wave of relief had hit her, her face showed complete disgust, standing atop the tree. "What the hell?! This place better not be made of damn karma!" She yelled furiously. Out of breath from the simultaneous jumping earlier. Blair sat back down on the tree, angry veins starting to surface. "Goddamn humans! Them and their imaginations back in that world where they come from!" Raising her voice once again, like any woman should.

Blair sighed, and plucked the mud that glued her wings together. Once they were fine enough to open up, she flapped them for a bit to remove the excess dirt and mud. Blair looked down at Ronnie as she was sitting on the tree, she crawled near the edge to have a better look at him. It was absolutely atrocious how he didn't do anything, and, this happened. Nothing, simply, he did nothing. It just simply frustrated Blair on the inside. Blair was supported with her arms, and she quickly pushed them down, falling on her stomach on the tree. She let out a sigh of frustration. "Anyways...what you said about the weapon could be true. But if they were to find it and use it, why would they ask a guild of treasure hunters like us to retrieve it? They could 'ave kept it for themselves. Either they used it, or this weapon was unstable and that's how they found out how powerful it was. Since it's guarded heavily, it wouldn't be too hard to find a place right? They said it was 'guarded heavily', so a camp should be somewhere near, it won't be too hard to find if it is in a camp."

I only have a younger brother, so we're actually pretty close, even though 24/7 we walk down memory lane and talk about anime. Or we end up having fist fights. Which is completely normal.

I understand too. I stopped RPing because of sudden burst of activity in my other guilds and holy crap was it hard to keep up with. I went on to sulking and after sulking I joined Rhiod. I was on this major writers block, so like you, it was hard to type anything in an RP post. Lets just be glad that we can actually write down paragraphs now.

Ronnie couldn't help but chuckle as Blair clung to the tree branch and curse humans out of frustration, "You do realize that those humans and their imaginations spawned you, right?" he stated, pointing out the obvious, "But yes, damn those humans, first me and now these horrid floating islands of bouncing moss. They must really hate you." he added sarcastically, before he moved along the narrow island he was standing on to close the distance between himself and Blair. Looking up at the furious little harpy, he leaned his thompson onto his shoulder once again and slid his free hand into his pocket once again, she was giving her two cents on his earlier comment about the weapon having already been found. Once she had finished explaining what she thought Ronnie nodded his head in consideration, "I was more so referring to a second party alerting the guild, not the owner of the weapon itself... but then again, the notice didn't make mention of anyone having the weapon, that sort of detail would've been on there." he answered, lowering his head he began to mumble to himself for a while, thinking up various possibilities of what they should expect as to not be caught off guard.

Looking out into the distance Ronnie had fallen silent, most likely in thought on their current mission, in truth, he wasn't even sure if they were in the right area. The Wasteland had many different environments and the Floating Woods was only one of those, it would take them months to search each individual area for the weapon, they needed something to point them in the right way. Thinking back to what Blair said about the weapon being heavily guarded Ronnie couldn't help but feel that perhaps they had gone the wrong way, if they were near the weapon someone would've tried to discourage them from venturing further in. But there was always the possibility that they were on the right track but just hadn't seen anyone because they were in hiding, or just now, alerted to their presence and had fled.

All of these thoughts swirled in Ronnie head, but none were able to help give him an idea of where the weapon might've been. Letting out an annoyed sigh he returned his attention onto Blair, "I think that if there is a camp nearby, it might be a good idea for you to fly high up and scout for any sort of signs of life." he said, he seemed to have lost his usual carefree attitude, adopting a slightly more serious one for just a moment, "...plus should there be any sort of hostiles they'll see you first, giving me the chance to make a... tactical retreat when they do attack." that was until he made that particular comment. All in all, the idea wasn't half bad, not only would it allow them to know of any sort of camps, or more ideally, the weapon itself, it would also allow them to see any sort of landmarks that they could use to navigate easier. With how carelessly they were currently traveling Ronnie couldn't help but notice that all of the islands were starting to look the same to him, luckily they were too far into the forest and he could still see the ledge that led them here in the first place.

"That's the thing! Right?! If they didn't spawn you or Jamie, or Jin, I would've lived a happy peaceful life in the guild!" She half-yelled out in frustration! The young woman obviously furious at everything right now, she would wish for a massacre right now. She hadn't taken note of Ronnie's sarcastic tone, as she was too angered right now to even care. The young woman punched the tree heatedly and she went right through the leaves as if it was a cloud. Falling on all fours and her back thankfully. Blair laid on the ground, giving out a frustrated sigh. She let the silence between them sink in as she stared at the hole she made in the floating tree leaves.

The silence between them broke. Once she heard him let out the annoyed sigh of his, Blair turned her head to face at him. Listening with her ears wide open. Blair nodded at his sudden change in attitude, and was in for the plan, because that's what Blair was usually supposed to do. Of course, after he made the comment about making a tactical retreat while poor Blair was being used as a dummy, Blair sat up with this 'Oh really? Fine then.' look as she stared at him. Blair looked at him in silence with the look, before she gave in and stood up. "Okay. If I die my soul will haunt you for the rest of your eternity in Rhiod." She let out an exasperated sigh as she said so. Getting up and opening her wings. Blair took one high jump and started flapping her wings. Flying high into the sky until she was just beneath the clouds and Ronnie looked like a little ant. Which she wished, wishing for him to become a bug for her to step on. Anyways...

Blair stalked around like she was told to, looking around every mountain, behind it, wherever the hell someone could be. For the past moments, she was unsuccessful. It would actually make sense if the weapon or a camp was here, the high floating trees would make good for coverage from the air, and the springy moss would surely help in keeping away unwanted intruders. Blair sighed, disappointed. Oh well, they should come across something or someone soon. Blair crossed her arms and nodded optimistically. However, for a split second, she felt a striking pain in her left wing and her back. Blair let out a loud yelp and she coughed out blood. Blair fell out of the sky, flapping her right wing as much as she could to not have a horrible land, but that was obviously inevitable, and she crash landed to the ground. Getting knocked out from the impact.

~Exit le Blair~

Ronnie couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in confusion as Blair stated that life in the guild would be easier without him, Jamie and, most confusingly of all, Jin, the one who created the guild in the first place. He decided to ignore the comment as she was sent to the ground in her incredibly frustrated state, the silence filling the air until he explained his suggestion on what they should do next to find this weapon. Blair shot him a look that reminded him of a certain someone whenever they tried to act like his comments were getting under their skin. Once she replied to his suggestion, agreeing to go scout out ahead Ronnie let out a brief chuckle at her comment about haunting him should she die, "Oh no, being haunted by the spirit of a half-wit for all eternity? Y'know what that sounds like to me? Stalking." he answered flashing a large amused grin, he had found one thing that he could use against her, even if it wasn't true.

Remaining where he was, Ronnie watched as she flew upwards, scanning the many platforms for an encampment or some signs of this mystery weapon. Glancing around the island that he was on Ronnie began to question whether they had even gone the right way in the first place, the foliage was thick enough to hide small bases but it was also a bit scattered. The islands break apart so easily that the base would need to constantly move from island to island in order to keep their belongings from falling into the abyss below. The sudden shout from above pulled his attention away from his thoughts and Ronnie glanced upwards, helplessly watching as Blair crashed into one of the nearby islands, she wasn't that careless, something must've attacked her, but what?

Beginning to rush over to investigate Ronnie hopped from platform to platform, hoping that there wasn't any moss nearby that would launch him while he was more focused on being quick than watching his surroundings. As he continued on his path something caught his eye, tracks heading in the same way as he was, someone or something was already making its way to that island and they were ahead of him. The sounds of light footfalls from behind caused Ronnie to raise his Thompson in preparation, however he wasn't fast enough as he felt something blunt slam into the side of his head, sending him to the ground with ease. The ringing of his ears muffled the voice of the one who had struck him, and his vision blurred from the concussion he was likely suffering from, his eyes struggled to stay open but to no avail. The world around him went dark as Ronnie had passed out from the sudden shock and pain.
