- Kaihaku is extremely pale and lean, but that does not mean that he is weak in anyway. His body simply does not have a single drop of excess fat due to the rigorous training he undergoes regularly. - Kaihaku is quiet and serious, a bit too serious in the eyes of many. It is questionable if he knows the definition of 'fun'. He is always all business and will rarely speak unless he deems it necessary. Oddly enough considering his upbringing, he does not put much importance to rank or social status and will treat superior and subordinate with the same amount of respect. He isn't very judgmental and it is very hard to make him hate someone, but it is also very hard for him to like someone. It isn't that he doesn't care about others, just that he doesn't think it is his place to judge others. He has a one-track mind and an obsession with finishing his job well. If he is given a task, he will shut out everything else until he has finished completing his assigned job.
He has a secret love for sweets, ranging from candies to cake.

Kaihaku was a child born out of wedlock. His father had been a traveling merchant that had set foot in Japan to do business. Since firearms were in high demand at the time, the country's most prolific political figures and warlord had all wanted a piece of the foreigner and were more than willing to offer him their daughter should it ensure a constant supply of firepower.
From one of those flings Kaihaku was born. Though of noble lineage and part of a powerful clan, his status was kept at no higher than a footsoldier and he was taken from his mother at a very young age. He was trained to serve and fight for others and taught the importance of discipline at a very young age.
He had started wielding a sword as soon as he was old enough to hold one. The times were one of war and turmoil and the quicker than could produce soldier, the better and by the age of seven, Kaihaku had already participated in his first battle, an attempted raid of their estate. He lost many friends in the battle and his helplessness urged him to train even harder.
Unfortunately, his hard work did not pay off and at the age of twelve, he died in a failed infiltration attempt.

xxxxxxAppearance: Twin katanas. Their weight is reduced without losing any of their sturdiness making them surprisingly easy to wield. One is completely white and the other is completely black.

18 Plights [Major | Active]
By stabbing a hard surface, 9 pillars of a foot in diameter of both colors will surge out from below to reach the heavens one after another. The range is unlimited in terms of height, but is interrupted as soon as it meets something solid that covers more than 2/3 of its area. Kaihaku mentally controls where they will come out with a maximum delay of 10 seconds between two pillars and a minimum delay of half a second. All pillars must be within a hundred yard radius around where the swords are and be on the same plane/surface. This means that if he had stabbed a floating piece of rock, he will only be able to release the pillars from that piece of rock until it comes into contact with land. Until all 18 pillars are used up, Kaihaku must keep both his swords inside whatever he had stabbed before. Should the sword be taken out, all of the left over pillars will surge out from where the swords were. The color of the pillars alternate, meaning that he cannot summon two black pillars consecutively. He can, however, summon a black and a white pillar together at the same time to form a gray pillar. The effect of said pillars depends on their color, but it should be noted that they do not have any physical properties and are merely beams of light infused with Reiryoku. Each beam are instantaneous and will vanish as fast as they appeared.
White: Freezes whatever liquid it touches while slowing down the target's movements and reflexes. During the whole time one stays inside the beam, liquid will freeze up in their body, but since their body was generating heat to begin with, the high body temperature will be liquefy said ice again. This ensures that what comes out of the beam is not a popsicle, but a shivering mess with numbed muscles and numbed reflexes.
Black: Burns what it touches and covers flesh in blisters while inflicting excruciating pain. This can burn through fabric and paper easily, but fire resistant clothes and armors can withstand it though they will find their temperature increased greatly. In the case of metal, it won't be the light that burns, but the heated metal that will inflict damage.
Gray: Inflicts burning pain while slowing down the movements of those it touches. The difference is that they do not inflict physical damage unlike the previous two colors.
It should be noted that being hit by the White and Black beam consecutively can shock one's body greatly due to the dramatic change in body temperature. A healthy individual with no cardiovascular problem can come out unscathed, but for the old and sickly, it may be lethal without proper defenses.

Should Kaihaku manage to slice his opponent with his sword, he will obtain the ability to reverse the direction of gravitational pull around his opponent. He can change it back and forth at will though only once per post and it can only either go upwards or downwards. Applicable to inanimate objects.

Reiryoku Transfer [Minor | Active]
Absorb energy-based attacks with his white sword and return them with added power with his black sword. It is immediate so he cannot store attacks. Attacks that are extremely long will have him absorbing and expelling energy constantly. His own body is the medium between both swords, however, so extremely powerful energy based attacks are destructive to his body. He can use this to directly steal Reiryoku of opponents he is clashing swords with since a Zanpakuto is linked to its wielder. The energy can also be channeled into Kido, but he must be using the hand holding his black sword to unleash Kido spells. This implies that he is limited to very simple spells that do not require both hands and intricate hand gestures.
Nullification [ Major | Active]
First, Kaihaku must have received a blow of similar force with his black sword. Once that is done, should the person use a similar move again, he may meet the blow with the tip of his white sword to exert the same amount of force, cancelling the blow and pushing both parties away in the process. Since what influence Reiatsu strength is the amount of Reiryoku one has, he may only do this a few times times in battle if the move is of a much stronger force than that of attacks he can usually perform because it will drain him dry of Reiryoku. He may store as many blows as he wishes until he reseals his zanpakuto.

xxxxxxAppearance: Both swords merge into a single silver nodachi (a slightly longer katana) with a sheathe of similar color. This combines the abilities of both swords into one. What could only be done with the black sword or the white sword in Shikai can now be done with a single sword. The weapon and the sheathe can swap places at anytime at Kaihaku's mental command.

For a short moment, Kaihaku will stop emitting any Reiryoku in the form of Reiatsu. Instead, he will be absorbing surrounding energy to replenish his reserves. This includes heat, electricity and Reiryoku. This can be dangerous for him since he will be left defenseless in this state since he will have no spiritual pressure to protect him. However, he becomes immune to energy-based attacks, including Kido and Cero blasts. Quincy attacks usually have Reishi mixed into it so they will affect him though the damage will be lessened since he will absorb the Reiryoku.
Deactivates Monochrome World when in use.

Monochrome World [Major | Passive]
Everything within a 500 yards radius of Kaihaku will see only in tones of gray. This is not only for aesthetic purposes however. It serves as a way to let others know whether or not they are within range of Kaihaku because all attacks initiated within that range by individuals other than himself will do the opposite of what its purpose were. A slash with the sword will physically heal Kaihaku instead of wounding him. A spell meant to bind his movements will increase his movement speed. He is not invulnerable though. A spell aimed to heal him will inflict damage instead and an attack that had been launched from outside of his range (the caster should still see in color) will still perform as usual. The inversion only applies to moves directed at him and does not affect his own attacks or attacks made by others aimed at others.
