[Chaos Divide]

Noting her companions somewhat somber mood, the Umbreon raised a paw to her mouth.
"Maybe you shouldn't have eaten that whole tray of tarts, Ceddy." The nickname had been accidental and Serenade wasn't even aware she'd used it. Anna's influence was a strong one that took effect almost immediately.
"How about tea? And then bed? I guess it's fairly late now..." The curtains had been closed the entire time though she was not inclined to go and check.
Still, tea would be nice. It would settle uneasy stomachs and calm her own jittery excitement at the events of the day.

Cedric let out a loud yawn as his mouth stretched open and his eyes shut. Small tears took to the corner of his eyes, not out of sadness but rather out of the sheer motion. "If you want." It was all he said before he walked towards the corner of the room and unceremoniously fell over sideways onto the nest of pillows. After a few moments of stillness, Cedric shifted slightly and then curled up. His tail swished back and forth gently in a display of comfort and contentment. He just wanted to sleep.

He hadn't even noticed the nickname.

Well, that answered one question! Serenade watched the Persian's quick descent into slumber before deciding to skip the tea herself and do the same.

Morning broke in its usual manner, peeking faintly through the top of the curtains that neither were tall enough to reach and pull together and the thin strands of light were enough to awaken the duo on their inconveniently placed beds.
Or at least awaken Cedric, for to be awoken one would need to be asleep still and Serenade was far from having been dozing soundly seconds before.

The Umbreon was quietly nosing about their small kitchen, the soft sound of glass striking glass as she shuffled through jars and cups and overall made quite a bit of a ruckus without meaning to. At least to the sensitive ears of her and her comrade.
The goal was coffee, a drink she'd never had but had found a neat little book with instructions on how to make it nestled among their nearly empty shelves.
Unfortunately she lacked the pallet to know spices and the wisdom of what anything was so she was having a bit of a hard time distinguishing ingredients.

Cedric would have normally woken up after not too long a period of time at all but in spite of his mind quite clearly and quickly giving up on being awake, his body did not for a little while and he was so thoroughly exhausted that once it did, he slept ceaselessly until Serenade's racket woke him up. But, even then, between the lethargy that came from a long period of sleep, an empty stomach and the general illness of the day prior he still didn't want to get up. So he did what any rational, lazyass would do; he shouted into the kitchen.
"What are you doing in there?"

"Making coffee!" Came the overly chipper response as the Umbreon tried not to sound too frazzled.
She was not designed for kitchen work. The counters were a tad too high and she used a stool to reach them while balancing on her hind legs, yet she still came short of being able to reach anything without crawling onto the counter top itself.
Her paw flailed for the bottle of coffee grinds right before her and she tapped it enough to send it rolling off the ledge and shattering across the ground.
SHOOT!
Serenade dropped down to pick up the mess only to pounce right down onto a sharp shard of glass and let out a shriek before bouncing back up to the stool with her left front paw held aloft and bleeding faintly.
This shouldn't be so hard!

Cedric simply sort of groaned and rolled over. He didn't really have the mind or presence to be concerned about something he quickly rationalized as harmless. Coffee could be dangerous for a lot of pokemon if they drank too much, but Serenade didn't seem to have much trouble with poison and given how nasty the stuff was it was unlikely that she would get through her first cup. And that was if they had everything they needed to make coffee to begin with, and of course she would have to figure out how to put it all together and use it.
Well, the yelp of pain was a different story entirely and though he was hardly scrambling in some kind of mad dash, he was still rushing to get there. Pillows were sent flying short distances with hurried steps until Cedric found himself peering into the kitchen with a look that went from worry to a certain sort of "but why."
"You dropped the jar?"

"I d-didn't mean to." The Umbreon said quickly as she turned in place, a difficult maneuver atop the stool that wobbled precariously with each movement.
Serenade gave a whiny noise, upset that he'd quickly shoot his questioning to her mess and not her paw which she still held up in the air gingerly as though even the slightest weight would cause horrific pain.
In reality she'd only nicked herself slightly but she was unaware of the fact as her mind processed her stepping on sharp glass and immediately went to the worst possibility.
She was going to DIE.

Cedric's look didn't change much. This was horribly dumb, though he could understand her plight even if the situation was one she had manufactured herself. He wasn't particularly concerned in the sense that, even if Serenade was treating it as such, it very clearly wasn't any sort of emergency. She wasn't injured in any substantial way and he could tell, because if she was there would either be a lot of blood or a big piece of glass sticking out of her foot and there was neither.
"Hold on."
It only took him a second to find. It was a little sort of funny looking broom that they kept handy just in case since they tended to track some dirt in now and then. The handle wasn't very long and it turned at a near-ninety degree angle at the end, meaning that Cedric could bite down on it and manipulate it that way. It only took him a moment to brush aside enough of the mess to form a safe path out, though the thought was quickly corrected when he pricked himself on a stray shard that he hadn't noticed. A rushed, but controlled breath stifled the pain as he stepped back uneasily and shook his paw gently, but it seemed to have found a new home.
Well... there was nothing to do about that for now other than to walk uneasily on the one paw, so he took a few steps back as he swept once more to get rid of anything else before he dropped the broom and quickly set to dragging a pillow in from the main room. A little bit of tugging and nudging later and Serenade had a veritable platform to land on.
"Come on, jump down."
"Go easy on your wounded paw," went without saying.

Serenade watched with a frown and flattened ears at the Persian went about his way cleaning the mess. She winced sympathetically when he recoiled suddenly and did as told the second he'd made it clear it was safe.
Without thinking she did put weight to her paw but realized quickly that it had already stopped hurting and she had just nicked it rather than having had it impaled by glass.
Examining her paw pad she gave a brief smile to find no shiny edges peering from the tiny cut and when she turned to show it to Cedric an expression of concern crossed her face to him.
"Did you cut yourself too?"
They were a mess weren't they? She'd only wanted to try this coffee stuff.

"A bit. You're okay?" It stung like a b***h but he wasn't exactly inclined to say that as he carefully backed out of the mess. Thankfully the pillow had definitely wiped away whatever little shards and beans had been left behind so it was a safe passage out, but that didn't make his foot feel any better.
Well, there was only one way to fix that so Cedric flopped onto his side and turned the inside of his paw towards his face. There was a little chunk of glass that had settled into his foot just beneath the pad. Cedric moved as if to groom himself by wetting the paw, but instead sunk one of his teeth into the wound. His sharp, carnivorous teeth were capable of slipping around the glass without widening the wound too much and so after a moment of picking at it with an expression of pain he spat out a bit of blood and the small chunk of glass. He quickly began to flex his paw back and forth but he stopped as he winced in pain. It hurt. It didn't hurt horribly, but it hurt.
Of course, all of this was done while keeping a half-eye on Serenade for when she answered and also just in case she wanted to make coffee still jesus christ
