x Cherry looked at Hyde then out the window. She got up and walked over to him, and placed her hand on his shoulder. "Go back where?" she asked with her head tilted to the side. "You will come back though...right?" she wasn't sure how to help him, but she really wanted to. She looked at the door. This was her fathers cabin and she didn't know why Blake was coming here. Maybe her father sent him to look for her or maybe he came on his own. She didn't walk to him much, but she caught him staring a couple times which never set with her well since she didn't really like him. He was too arrogant and had a big ego.

{It's alright, hun, not a problem (: }

Hyde glanced at Cherry's hand on his shoulder, he found the warmth of it awkward, but he didn't dislike it. Looking back to her he gave a weak nod, "If you're here, I will come back", He assured her. Although Hyde was not well, he still had a genuine sincerity in his voice. Hyde turned to the door and looked back a Cherry once again. "If he does come to the cabin for whatever reason, I was never here." As he felt a heated anger rise in his gut he made is way hastily to the cabin door and ran with a staggered gait in the direction he was staring into earlier. He kept one hand on his stomach as he ran, almost as if in pain.

x Cherry nodded. "I'll be here," she replied and gave Hyde a small smile. She nodded to what he said. She'd have to clean everything up just in case. Once Hyde left she quickly made her way around the cabin and got rid of anything that suggested someone else had been here with her. She sighed once that was done then heard a knock on the door. She walked over and opened it only to be met by a cocky grin on a boys face that was around Hyde's age. It was Blake. Her father had tried to get Cherry to marry him, but she refused. The relationship could be referred to Belle and Gaston's from Beauty and the Beast.

"Can I help you with something, Blake?" she questioned. He shrugged a bit and leaned in the door way; that cocky grin never left. "Your father told me you were out here all by yourself looking for that wolf. I'm here to offer my services." he replied in a calm, coy and gentlemanly voice. Cherry just rolled her eyes. She never saw anything in the boy or understood why so many girls swooned over him. "Thank you, but no thank you. I don't want your help." she said and started to close the door, but his hand stopped it. "Come now, Cherry. I know you like me. Just let me prove to you that you do like me." he said as he grabbed her arm, but she slapped his hand away. "Good day, Blake." she said before she slammed the door in his face and locked it. She walked into the main room and sat down on the couch. She'd wait until she was sure Blake left before she went back to the village and got some food since the cabinets were almost bare.

{It's okay.}

Hyde could feel his heart pounding in his chest and he could hear the droning beat in his head. He hated it. the beating was a slow and deep sound. Hyde knew that it sounded abnormal, especially since he had been running. Keeping his head low as he ran Hyde peered through strands of hair and jumped clear over the iron pike fence, not slowing.

After what seemed like and eternity of running, he was close to the cave, he knew as soon as he was inside everything would be better. Eerie birdsongs echoed in his head from deep in the woods as he drew closer, owl calls that sounded not much different from a woman's petrified scream. The cave came into sight, Hyde slid on the dead leaves on the forest floor as he veered into the yawning maw of the of the cave. Losing his balance he fell down the cave's throat and tumbled inside, wincing as he landed on his injured side. The cave itself was quite small, a single chamber lined with limestone and the ceiling lined with stalactites. There was little light inside, but enough came through the entrance to highlighting what needs to be seen to move around safely. Pulling himself up Hyde dusted the dirt and debris off himself and made his way to the back of the chamber to retrieve an old messenger bag belonging to him. On the wall at the back of the chamber lays a heart-stopping sight.

On the back wall of the cave's chamber rests what appears to be a large, crudely taxidermied wolf head. It glared through the darkness of the cave with a wicked-toothed snarl. The old fur smelled musty had begun to rot away, leaving patches around the top of the head. The eyes seemed to be made of stone, as well as the nose and fangs. Hyde tugged at the long fur on the mane once, expecting it to fall off. But he found it was strongly attached to the rock, it almost seemed like the fur was growing out of the cave wall. It looked like it was a natural formation, not something man-made, it seemed it was a part of the cave. It frightened Hyde, as it would most people. But he had a strange fascination with it, every time he came here he couldn't take his eyes off it.

A stale smelling breeze would bellow through the wolf's mouth every so often. Hyde began to breathe with it, feeling his heart begin to beat regularly again and his gut rest. Whenever he felt himself reacting this way he would try to get here as fast as he could, if he doesn't make it he blacks out, which he dreaded. The breeze fascinated Hyde, many times he wanted to climb into the wolf's mouth and discover what waited on the other side. But he feared the beast would snap it's jaws shut and devour him. The stone mouth was indeed big enough for someone to climb through, if they could bear being confronted with the endless dark. Once he had calmed himself he reached of the messenger bag and got up, not daring to look away from the stone wolf. He backed away from it slowly, then when he was close enough to the entrance he bolted up and out like a startled rabbit. Despite the way he acted, Hyde felt safest when he could feel the wolf's breath on his face.

As he began the walk to his uncle's shack, which wasn't much of a detour, Hyde could feel his mind clear. He didn't hear or see anything he shouldn't, it was like when he came out of the cave he stepped into a different place. With his mind refreshed Hyde opened the messenger bag as he walked. it was filled with a strange moss that he got from the cave, along with a scruff-up memo book and pencil. He pulled out the memo book and began to scribble things down. Hyde found himself constantly thinking about Cherry, but he mentally referred to her as red still. Why didn't she just kill him? That's what she came out to the woods to do wasn't it? How could she benefit from looking out for him? When he was done he ripped the page out and approached the front door of the shack. He peered inside the window, he couldn't tell if his uncle was home. Regardless Hyde slide the scribbled note under the door, explaining that he wouldn't be around for a few days, the notes was something he did often. He knew his uncle read them, and as long as his uncle got a note he wouldn't get mad at Hyde the next time he saw him. It was strange but it worked for them. Hyde began to walk back to the cabin where Red was. The walk back would be a little long, but he should get there before sunset.

x Cherry waited a few good minutes before she decided to leave the cabin. She stuck a note under the door just in case Hyde did come back and she was still out. She walked along the path back to her village. She'd just pick up some food and maybe a couple other things the cabin lacked. She'd go see how her father was doing, but she knew he wouldn't let her leave again. It took maybe five to seven minutes to get to the village. She looked around at all the people that were out of their houses. There were men that were rebuilding houses and stands, and women that that added their two cents while they watched their children as they ran around and played. She smiled at how fast everyone had recovered from the event that had taken place. Then she frowned a little when that brought up the thought of Hyde. Cherry hoped he was alright and Blake hadn't found him. The idiot would probably stop by later that night to "check on" Cherry. The thought just made her shudder and her face twist up like she had smelled something awful.

She sighed a little before she went over to the numerous stands that were fixed or hand't been harmed. Food, drink, toys, tools and whatever else anyone could think of someone waited to sell it. She had grabbed the basket from the cabin and brought it with. It was a plain twine basket that wasn't anything special in appearance, but it was her mothers and that made all the difference. She'd never sell or get rid of the basket; it was still usable and durable. Cherry played with it when she was younger and it always made her mother smile. The last she had seen it was in the cabin when she was six. They left it there so it wouldn't get ruined and who was going to steal a basket of all things? She had a large white cloth in the basket so the food wouldn't get any dust on it and it could be covered up.

As she searched for food and some other items, Cherry talked with the people at the stands. She asked an older man - who thankfully still had his sanity unlike most of the old men there - about the boy named Hyde. The man laughed and it was like he had no air in his lungs. He talked about the boy that had been an orphan then left in the care of a hermit that was his uncle. He said the man treated the boy poorly, yet the boy never did a thing about it. Apparently the old man saw Hyde run into a cave by the some old cemetery in the forest one time while he was out hunting. Both places were ancient and no one ever went there. Bad luck seemed to be the reason, but the old man said it was just a myth. Cherry thanked the man for the information before she got everything else she needed and headed back down the path in the woods.

Cherry reached the cabin about twelve minutes before sundown. She picked up the note that was still under the cabin door and went inside. She walked into the small, but spacious kitchen and started to put things away. Hyde was probably at that cave or maybe his uncle's. She felt like she should have known about him since she was only a year younger than him, but she didn't. Once everything was put away she went into the den. It was basically the living room and the main part of the cabin since the front door lead right into it, but it was the den. A bear skin rug was on the floor. Her father had gotten his revenge on the bear that killed his wife. He had it skinned, but didn't keep the head, legs or hide. A small coffee table that her father had made out of wood, a couple deer antlers and glass for the top sat in the middle of the rug in front of the stone fireplace. The couch which had been made by her cousins sat in front of both things. There were two armchairs on either side of the couch with a small end table in between each. Everything was handmade even the cabin which her father had built with his brothers while Cherry's mother was still pregnant with her. As Cherry thought about things it didn't take long for her to fall onto her side on the couch and fall asleep.

{It's not a problem; I understand.}
