Joou had been lost in her thoughts as she stared out into the morning world while she slowly drank from her dew collected puddle. She hadn't known that Adrian had woken or the panic he had been in till he about toppled her over. She let out a gasp and side stepped from him in hopes of not being knocked over. She watched as his chest rose and fell rapidly. "Are you okay?" she asked with a bit of worry running through her words.

He looked her over calming down but not really sure what to say for a few moments. “Y.. Yes. I woke up and you where gone. I ..” He felt simply stupid. “It was like a nightmare I’ve had a lot since I lost our child.” He shifted uncomfortably. Shaking himself he knew he worried her, it was all over her expression. “I’m fine. Really.” He moved to the water’s edged and could see his reflection in it. He looked older and more haggard than he remembered. He kept looking in the water rather than at Joou.

Joou padded back into her cave and gave Adrin a gentle nudge with her nose. "It's okay. You are hear now. I am here now and we have one of our children still." She spoke softly. "Have you faced your fears that plague you? It is the only true way to chase the nightmares away. It is hard but something you should think about doing." She continued to talk to him in a soft voice before turning and heading back out the entrance of her cave. She carefully overstepped the pool of water not wanting to dirty it since it was still drinkable. She quietly made her way a crossed the area in search for breakfast. She paused and glanced back at her once mate and wondered if he was going to come along as well.

Joou was right. He almost smiled at that thought. it was so nice to be around her again and be able to have those thoughts. He knew he hadn’t faced his fears and wouldn’t be able to for a while. It wasn’t something that just shut off overnight, but he was certain of one thing. He might be able to face them now here in his home. He didn’t start off after Joou until she looked at him. “You know you’ve changed a lot Joou.” He had known her as the happy laughing fox of his memories. The cute vixen who was all tumbled up with her tail flopping over her eyes. Still she had been alone for so long and had even managed to raise a fine daughter, though that child’s taste in mate’s could use some work. “Still I have too. It might take some time but I’m glad I’m here with you. There is no where else in all the world I’d rather be.”
