Located in one of Hogwart's western towers, one must climb a tight staircase to reach
the Ravenclaw Common Room on the fifth floor. Upon reaching the top of the stairs,
the bronze eagle knocker will only open after its riddle is answered correctly. If one gets
it wrong, he or she must wait for another to attempt it. It provides a learning experience
for all house members. Above this wide, round room are accurately painted stars on the
domed ceiling, which move as the Earth shifts; beneath it is an expanse of midnight
blue carpet. There are high arched windows, providing light during the day, and the walls
are adorned with blue and bronze silks. Throughout the room, tables and chairs are
strewn about, providing ample studying spaces as well as couches for socializing. There
are enough bookcases to make up a miniature library. To the side, stands a white-marble
statue of Rowena Ravenclaw, dividing the doors to each wing of the dormitories.
Riddle: I never was, am always to be. No one ever saw me, nor ever will. And yet I am the confidence of all who live and breathe on this terrestrial ball. What am I?
