Shinjin Hakko
Shinjin, who was silent through the entirety of the events that had just unfolded, rejoined the group's discussions as the two carried out their conversation, and began to speak after Ryoku finished explaining the basic idea of how Psyren worked to Hinata. "Furthermore, the gate in this stage is just a few clicks to the north of where we are presently standing," he added, "Come on, now, Hinata. We'll continue explaining as we go. Tread cautiously, though, as I can't shake the feeling that this is a trap of some sort." Shinjin wasted no time in picking up the pace with which he walked, rapidly putting several feet of distance between himself and the rest of the band of psionists who accompanied him. He didn't realize this, as he called back to the others. "So, Hinata, what other sorts of questions do you have that I could possibly answer for you?" Shinjin cordially inquired to Hinata in a voice that would be difficult for her to completely understand at the distance that he had put between them, as he powers had not fully awakened at the moment.
After a few minutes of walking, Shinjin had arrived at a point where he could see the gate from across the barren wasteland. "Guys, come here! I can see the gate!" he called back to the rest of the group. He started in a frantic final dash for the gate, which was about a half a mile away from where he was currently standing, and the rest of his posse was another ten feet behind him, so he wanted to make sure that they could all make it back home safely. However, within the first few seconds as he started dashing for the gateway that led back home, his ominous premonitions began screaming at him. This is a trap! he finally confirmed to himself. He hastened his dash even further, not slowing at all, nor did he exhibit any signs of his qualm. The last thing that he wanted was for any of the others to get caught up in whatever misfortune was about to befall this place. He and the others were now about ten to fifteen feet away from the gateway, which would cause any other person to feel safe, and completely confident that he or she would arrive home safely. Shinjin, however, could not with any amount of effort, shake the nagging self-doubt that continuously pestered him, the strange feeling that sort of foreshadowed that some sort of cataclysmic calamity would come crashing into their lives like a runaway train at any moment.

Carson Blare
As Carson took his long, slow strides outside of the prison he realized what this meant; a possibility for freedom. If all went well he could free himself from the control of WISE and his drug, he could find a way to get back to the physical realm where everything real existed. But for now he had a gate to get to, the gate that would let the intrusive drifters possibly get free from the desert’s clutches and for now Carson would take orders because he had nothing better to do for the time being. Having a great memory of the desert and lost city he was able to face in the direction of the gate and ready himself for launch. The wind was whipping to the northeast against his right cheek, sand flew up and continued to bounce off of his sculpted body. Carson moved his legs to an optimal position to begin running, his arms were inside the pockets of his pants and there was a wide maniacal grin on his face. With one bound that was unbelievably swift for a man of his size he launched himself forty meters from where he was, smashing each building that stood in his path to the ground. It would only take about ten or so more of those steps for Carson to land on top of the gate’s position. The reason for his movement being so quick was a combination of his dual cores, his focus on his enhance and his limitless hours of training. Stopping for a moment to appreciate to ability to move Carson took a breath filled with the sandy scents of the desert. The sun beat down on him with fury, but that was no worry, he didn’t mind it. Then Carson got back into position and launched himself once again, but not stopping until his tenth stride where he was about four meters from the gate. Behind him was a distinguished path of rubble and clouds of sand. A little to his left was a small group of five or so drifters about to three meters away, they appeared to be injured for the most part in some way probably by the Tavoo. Carson scanned over the area to make sure there was nothing to impede his goal, and only one thing arose; a single large Tavoo running to his position.
Carson favored fighting the Tavoo, they were more savage than psi users, he appreciated that the Tavoo never held back or decided to have ridiculously long dialogue with him. Immediately putting himself into a fighting position he bent his knees and planted his feet making to clear that he wasn’t going to move unless need-be. As the Tavoo approached and began to swing, Carson grabbed its arm, twisted it and tore it out of its socket. In his left arm he held, well, an arm and in his right he swung at the Tavoo’s torso. When the blow hit there was a sickening crunch and spatter of blood in his face, the body was directed at the Drifters whom may not have seen him, but he wanted their attention and felt that he deserved it. As the body landed a cloud of sand launched upwards and with that Carson was already over there within a few short strides. Standing almost a body higher than anyone there and a few hundred pounds more muscular he felt too confident. Cracking his knuckles and smiling broadly he spoke one word.
“Hello.”

Hinata Mikayo
When Hinata heard Ryoku's voice inside her head, she first wondered if he was also a mindreader. This concerned her. She didn't really want him to find out about her older brother and the real reason she had chosen to come here. When she heard his instructions, however, her thoughts immediately split into two halves. One part of her wanted so desperately to return to the real world where she could be surrounded by things that she knew and cared about, but the other part felt like she would be some sort of coward if she left her new allies to be out here all alone and fight by themselves without any help at all, even if they could handle it. If I leave, Hinata thought, there could be a chance that they won't come back. Then again, if I stay, I'm most likely gonna die... She stood there and didn’t do anything for awhile. She was much too shocked by the situation to do much else. It felt like time had almost stopped and for the longest five seconds of her life she couldn’t move neither towards the gate, nor away from it. Once she jerked herself back into the moment, she began sizing up the situation to see if the enemy they were facing was really as terrible as he seemed to be. The guy that showed up just now…I don’t see if any of us can trust him, not with him using such destructive power like it’s some kind of game. She felt her muscles tensing up, and she knew that, if given the chance, she would most likely turn her back on everyone and run as far and as fast as her legs could carry her. She hated herself for that. More than anything, she wanted to be strong enough to not run away from her problems. “I don’t plan on leaving you alone, especially if you’re injured,” she found herself saying with a cheerful smile as she looked over at Ryoku, “But I don’t really wanna die either. You got a third option you can count me in on?” She then realized that she wasn’t uptight because her body was getting geared up to run away; she was actually preparing herself for her first battle ever, and she didn’t even know how it all started or how it was gonna go down. What she did know, however, was that if she lived, she would never be able to return to the life she once used to lead. And she was okay with that.

true bboy Carson Blare Carson chuckled at the group of meager psi-users before him with malice of bone shattering proportions. How they mingled with each other, how they relied on each other so much, how pitifully stereotypical the women were and just how arrogant the blue-haired boy was. Carson reserved his thoughts, being analytical wasn’t his strong suit but the whisper of the one little red-haired girl to the leader fed him the information he needed; these were in fact the same Drifters he’d been sent after. His smile became broader and more ruthless after learning this and even more insane as the leader had the audacity to approach Carson, the tenacity to address him. The boy must have been awful brave to stand near someone four times his size, someone who just tore through a ruined city and slaughtered a Tavoo without any substantial effort, effort at all really. Carson knew for a fact that he was older, faster, stronger and more powerful than any of the Drifters; but there was one thing he didn’t know and that was if they were smarter. Judging the situation the men would most likely protect the women at all costs, and since the women were notably weaker and more beaten then they would be his first targets. Ignoring the tiny man he wondered how he would slaughter the women, just about how brutal he could be and his mind wandered back to his days of glory and his massacre of the WISE forces. He deduced that his best plan of action would be to kill one, vaporize it, take its form and use that form to deceive everyone. He took a deep breath in, cracked his shoulders and began to position himself for a clear shot, shifting to the side just a little and planting his feet firmly in the sand. He bowed his head just a little, continuing to ignore the boy and launched himself at the two girls at an alarming speed. Outside viewers would see him as merely a blur, but he saw everything begin to stretch as he crossed through time very quickly, in his direct line was the girl Hinata. He was bearing down on her like a fighter jet coming in for a landing.

Outside viewers would see him as merely a blur, but he saw everything begin to stretch as he crossed through time very quickly, in his direct line was the girl Hinata. He was bearing down on her like a fighter jet coming in for a landing. Hinata Mikayo Oh nuts! Hinata thought when she saw the man suddenly appear right in front of her. He's got super speed! If I don't think of something quick, I'm sunk! She silently pondered all the options she had, or at least the ones that could easily be executed in the fastest amount of time and guarantee some sort of escape. Nothing came to her mind at the time, except that if she didn't think of something soon, her death - as well as the deaths of her new friends - was pretty much certain. Then she wondered why this strange person had decided to target her in the first place. Was he sent to kill her? Or maybe he came on his own? Well, whatever the reason, Hinata absolutely refused to die here. She was scared of the situation, and she knew that this guy could probably smell fear from a mile away. But she opened her right hand and concentrated whatever kind of strange power she had inherited into her palm. She felt that she was holding something heavy, but there wasn't anything in her hand, at least, nothing she could see, anyway. In her hand was a concentrated ball of air that could burst open and cause a sudden explosion if she wasn't able to concentrate long enough to hold it together. Of course, Hinata didn't know that, so her first instinct was to push the man away with both hands and hope for the best, not knowing that the air ball had been absorbed into his system when she had done so.
