Emmeline Rosa Gray
Emmeline laughed again as Cole spoke, saying he was a walking cliche. "And here I was hoping you'd managed to save yourself from at least a few cliches." When Cole reached out and smacked Caleb for whispering to her, she couldn't help but giggle slightly. It was just so funny to watch them two of them! Not to mention, she couldn't help but notice that Cole was starting to seem at a loss as to how to scare Emmeline next. She'd have been lying if she didn't admit that it was enjoyable to see how…taken aback he was. It left her wondering how many others had come before her only to be scared off by something so simple as moody and brooding. It also made her a little sad, to think of how quickly and often the brothers must have been judged.
As Caleb remarked about visiting Fisterra, Emmeline smiled brightly. "You should. Small population, beautiful places. And the people there are very kind. Not to mention," in a teasing tone she added, "They're harder to scare than they look." Emmeline was dying to ask the brothers more personal questions, but she knew that would open her up to the same. It was almost as if the three of them were stuck in a stalemate, trying to figure out who would open up to whom first. For having been an elf-queen, Emmeline could still be unbelievably impatient, and it always struck her when she the impatience rose up. Right now, she wasn't feeling patient about getting to know the brothers--she wanted to know them, but she also didn't want to scare them away. That was the last thing Emmeline wanted, in fact. A small knot of mild frustration wound it's way around her core as part of her mind tried to figure out the stalemate.
When Caleb mentioned food, Emmeline's stomach let out a surprisingly dainty growl and she laughed, glancing down briefly. "Food sounds fantastic. I'm pretty hungry myself--I was out in the lake for quite some time. Besides, these poor trees don't deserve Cole's vicious hunger." Emmeline grinned as the three of them started walking in the direction of the kitchen. While Emmeline rarely scared off people the way Cole did, it was still refreshing to find a few people she could be herself around (for the most part.) She was too used to people running away from her for reasons Emmeline couldn't really understand. Either she was too old, or too "weird" or some other stupid half-assed excuse. It had contributed a great deal to the loneliness she'd felt in the lake earlier. The knot of impatience settled itself down as Emmeline decided to just accept and enjoy the brothers' company for now. Whatever happened would happen.
((OoC: Post next in the kitchen then? ^-^))

☪ Nightfall. A smile played across the Vampire's lips as he strolled through the forest. He could hear various sounds despite it being so late. Most would have been inside by now, but this time was to him like mid-afternoon was to humans. The majority of sounds he heard were the nocturnal woodland creatures. Ones who, like him, resented the day and came to life in the dead of night. As he wandered the man soon came into a clearing where the moon's light could shine freely. His crimson eyes fixated on the lake first, but he was soon distracted by the sound of even breaths. Someone was sleeping? And out here in the forest of all places? A wicked grin crept onto his lips.
☪ Quiet steps brought him ever closer to the sleeping figure, a Kitsune by the looks of it. Once he was a few feet from her body, Kyrian looked over the female for a long moment before covering the remaining distance. He crouched down beside the girl, picked her up gently, walked over to the edge of the lake, and promptly tossed her into the water. It was the fastest way to awaken her after all, wasn't it? And that was the first step in being able to amuse himself with this one. Besides, she should have known better than to sleep out here with her defenses down. He was teaching her a valuable lesson. Yes, that was it. Why, she should be thanking him for this! Kyrian waited for whatever reaction she might have, anticipating something that would be quite entertaining.

☪ The Kitsune's snarl only caused Kyrian's grin to widen as he watched the female. He walked along the lake's edge at a leisurely pace towards the woman, all the while chuckling at her outburst. "Well, I can't very well talk to you while you're asleep. Besides, you're the one who left yourself so defenseless out here; I could have done a lot worse than giving you a quick soak." He smirked in response to her glare, stepping closer to the woman while she attempted to wring herself dry. "Now, what shall I call you?" If she didn't give him a name now then he would probably just make something up for her.
☪ Of course, she would still be furious about his dunking her only a moment ago. That was part of the fun though, wasn't it. He grown so bored on his little excursion to this place what with the lack of people to entertain him. Sure, there had been a few thus far, but they all seemed to disappear after a short while which was rather troublesome for him. This one had some fire to her though, maybe she would last longer. Maybe. If nothing else, she was at least a momentary diversion to the monotonous life he was leading right now.

☪ The male simply shrugged his shoulders at her comments. Of course those thoughts hadn't crossed his mind, why should they? She was a plaything to amuse him, if she couldn't serve that purpose then he had no need of her. "And deprive you of my company? I think not." Mischief danced within the depths of those dark eyes. She was so very different from those he had been in the company of thus far and that difference was a good thing. He needed wanted someone with spirit to entertain him. This Kitsune fit the bill perfectly.
☪ His eyes followed the will o' wisp after its appearance, clearly intrigued. Magic was not something new to him, but it was fascinating nonetheless. Again, her response amused him. The actions, however, were not to be tolerated. It was all well and good until she started to walk away; that was the one that he didn't like. Kyrian had let it slide once, but that wouldn't happen again. Spirit was good, but he couldn't let that go unchecked.
☪ It took but a moment for him to appear in front of the female; being a vampire had its perks. His eyes held a hint of anger now, and it came out in his tone as he spoke. Clearly, the man didn't appreciate her leaving when he wasn't finished with her. "That will be a bit problematic for you then since I have no intention of letting you be. As for your former statement, I don't recall indicating that we were going to be friends. However, I can oblige you on there being a lack of conversation, if that's what you truly want. There are other ways that we can occupy ourselves. If you won't give me a name to call you by I am more than capable of determining one for you. Which would you prefer? Your own name or one of my choosing?" He waited for her answer, but he wasn't about to let her get away from him.

☪ Kyrian arched a brow at her defiant words. A chuckle rumbled free from his throat when the Kitsune mentioned that she didn't plan on letting him occupy her time. Did the girl actually believe she had a choice in the matter? Such a foolish little kitten. Ah, that could be her name. Kitten. Quite fitting for a pet, wasn't it? Her insults were, well...they didn't particularly bother him. He'd been called worse in the past, and her opinion of him wasn't about to change his plans. If anything, it added to his desire to possess the female.
☪ She was plotting something. He could see it in her mannerisms; the step back, and that glare. The male wasn't magically inclined so he couldn't sense the shift in her power, but the physical signs were enough of a hint for him. Was she going to run? Oh, that would be just perfect! How long had it been since he'd had a good chase? A flick of her tail sent dust sailing into his eyes which caused a few choice words to fly from his mouth. The Vampire would not be stopped so easily though. A quick pause at the lake's edge was enough to clear his vision then he was darting into the forest after her.
☪ Kyrian utilized his sense of hearing until he closed in on her. "Nice try Kitten, you won't be rid of me so easily though!" He called out after her. The man made no attempt to hide himself from her. Stealth wasn't his objective here. Besides, if she knew where he was it would make the chase that much more exhilarating as she tried to avoid him. Well, maybe he would only play this way for a little while. Her shocked face was certain to be a treat once he'd located her.
☪ The Kitsune's little trick worked for but a moment, only until he realized that chasing her caused the sound of her beating heart to disappear. That couldn't possibly be right. He turned and followed the sound of her racing heart once more. Perhaps he would have a taste of her once she'd been apprehended. His reward for the capture. This time, he was much quieter, speaking only once he was within a few feet of her location. "This will end only one way, Kitten. You can't run forever." Kyrian dragged one finger across a tree, his nail cutting away at its bark. Would she reveal herself? Or would he be the one to pick her out?

Kit’s ears had picked up his curse at the stunt and smirked as she zigzagged through the trees as the lake fell from view. The forest was her element, her home in every sense and she felt a bit cocky to be in it. Of course she had no idea he could track her heartbeat, not that she could do much about it. Her fur fluffed up as she ran, the man was rather arrogant to bother her. This place was beginning to creep her out a little. Biting back a sigh she kept up her slightly casual jog, at least until she heard a voice echo through the trees.
Kit mentally let out a long stream of curses as she heard him calling to her. She paused for a moment, her ears twitched as if trying to determine how close he was. The fact he was so sure of himself made her fury swell. Kit knew she could be light on her feet and tried as quietly as she could to run faster, her heart beating even faster with her slight unnerved state. She pulled her hand up as she ran, the air above it becoming distorted as a blue will o’ wisp flared to life. She tossed it up into the air and added a second and third. The three orbs of fire swayed in the air. She hoped if he came that way he would fall for an illusion of her hiding behind a bush. She just needed time to make it to the wall, she swallowed the annoying taste that came as a slight fear rose up.
She had to wonder, what manner of being was he? An animal creature like herself? A moonkin of some sort? No, she would have smelt that on him. On that note she thought back to his scent, she should have paid more attention to it. She cursed herself for being so naïve, she should have just hidden somewhere to nap. She hated he was calling her kitten, a close nickname to her real name. Lucky guess on his part, a lucky guess that riled her to no end. She did not hear him behind her for some time and knew the first illusion had worked, she hoped the second one would as well. Kit was rather young still for her race, and casting lingering or presence activated illusions was a rather rusty skill of hers. Half the time when she cast that it just showed the ghost looking wisps hovering there, and that would not do as it would point the direction she had taken rather easily.
She had been running for a while, the land was a rather long one with the brush and vines making her journey a little harder. But a hard trail she hoped would slow someone not used to forests down. Suddenly it seemed the forest grew quiet, she gulped as that never boded well when nature hushed. She paused to look around and decided to try something. She stopped to push through a bush as if it was torn through on the right and then leapt over the brush on the left in hopes to confuse him. However as she heard his voice call out she stumbled back right into a thorn covered vine, scratching her arm slightly. She bit back a swear as she rubbed at the crimson stain and started running again. Not knowing what he was she did not know his speed and thought for sure he was lost way behind her. Her zigzagging had not actually covered much ground, so now she was making a mad dash for the forests end. She gulped as her heart pounded almost frantically.
