Opinions on Kikyo.

It baffles me at how many people hate Kikyo. I don't know why, she's a very likeable character. I personally love her, far more than I like Kagome. I just don’t understand it.

So, I would like some legitimate answers, reasons, and explanations as to why people like or dislike Kikyo. And, if you hate her, please tell me what makes you favor Kagome over Kikyo.

I like both of them, and In my opinion, it's kind of dumb to like one and not the other. I mean they're basically the same person.

To be honest, I do not dislike anyone from Inuyasha, okay maybe Myoga (If I misspelled his name then, I apologize) but he's helpful too. I can't understand why people dislike her or Kagome. But perhaps it is because of Kikyo's attitude. She only hates Inuyasha because she thought he betrayed her, yet jealous of Kagome because she's still in love with him deep in her heart.....

I actually like Kagome better than Kikyo because he tries to kill her multiple times!! xD lol. And Kagome always helps Kikyo to keep her alive when she should really be dead. Kikyo is always trying to bring Kagome back into her era, but without her InuYasha will not be able to find the sacred jewel shards and defeat Naraku. Once Kagome is back in her era for a while, Kikyo tries to kill InuYasha. What's up with that? That's why I favour Kagome over Kikyo ^^

I like kikyo because eventhough she's the walking dead she stills help wounded people and maybe she tries to even out the balance between the past and the future when she sends kagome back to her time. I like kagome because no matter how jealous she feels toward the relationship with kikyo and inuyasha she saves kikyo to spare inuyasha from being hurt. Thats love.

i'd say kagome is way better than kikyo i mean she tried to kill kagome over a jewl shard and frankly kikyo is dead so she and inuyasha need to move on. besides we all know that inuyasha so tottay loves kagome. its the reason why they kissed in the second movie

I believe that's exactly why I dislike her. Her attitude towards InuYasha and Kagome is just awful. Basically, Naraku successfully destroyed the relationship between Kikyo and InuYasha. I know she was a living corpse, but still, if she could not let go of her past feelings, then I don't see a reason why I should like someone like this. It's just sad.

Not saying this is a problem w/ the story, this works very well w/ the story. I pitied her at first, but once I saw she wasn't going to change her attitude, I ended up disliking her. Too much of the same thing can become irritating.
