More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

The distance was short but she ran towards Dawn and embraced her tightly. The tears started again and she took was shaking a bit but she held on tight. She was never going to let go of her daughter again. Never going to abandon her again. Like with Ravan her hands moved towards her daughters face, cupping it, examining it. With tears in her eyes and a smile on her face she gave a kiss on her forehead before embracing her again with both arms.

"I'm here sweetie....I'm here."

Dawn cried and returned her mother's warm embrace. Deep down she knew Liv Crystalion wouldn't die to the likes of the monsters of the wastes.

The kids gathered around Dawn and Liv amid the sounds of laughter, crying, and cheers.

Ravan stood off by herself, watching what should have been a heartwarming scene. But all she felt was envy. Sure, having Liv's gratitude felt nice, and there was some satisfaction in seeing a mother and daughter reunited. That was just it, though. Dawn had always had that. Liv didn't abandon her in the wastes. Part of Ravan hated her for it.

She scratched the side of her face and looked away, unsure of how to handle the situation, or her negative feelings.

As he heard Eclipse yelling at him, he imitated the gesture of the middle finger over his shoulder.

"He broke the deal as you said he would. I will give you a stronger body for you when the time comes. That is all. But do tell me why did you embark on this suicide mission?"

She felt like she should stay like this forever. But there was one more she had to check up upon, her son, Leo. Softly she pulled away a little.

"How's....how's Leo doing?"

"He broke the deal as you said he would. I will give you a stronger body for you when the time comes. That is all. But do tell me why did you embark on this suicide mission?"

The wolf was silent at first. But the part of her that was Freya couldn't keep her thoughts quiet.

"Why taunt me with my failure? Is your thirst for knowledge so great that you would keep my consciousness alive in this horrible state?" she asked with a strong tone of sadness and despair.

"You ate me, took my memories and experiences as your own, and now you ask me why I was willing to die for them? For something so without pain and emotion, you are needlessly cruel."

Legio was silent.

"It is not my intend to be cruel. I mean not like Eclipse. All of the memories that I've gained from conversing with the elders and the emotions that came with them, I have not been able to assimilate emotions fully. Only parts." Legio responded.

She felt like she should stay like this forever. But there was one more she had to check up upon, her son, Leo. Softly she pulled away a little.

"How's....how's Leo doing?"

Dawn bit her lip nervously and darted her eyes in his direction momentarily. She took a shaky breath and huffed, "He's...the doctor said he has a severe concussion. His brain's swol, and they aren't sure if he's going to wake up."

She glanced over her Mother's shoulder and finally noticed the gravity meta standing quietly.

"Oh God, Ravan. I'm so sor-"

Ravan quickly brushed past the crowd and ran into Leo's room. She stopped at the door and gasped at the cavalcade of tubes and wires coming coming out and off of him.

Leo lay motionless save for the rythmic rise and fall of his chest, curtiousy of an artificial respirator. The ECG and brainwave activity blipped and peaked silently. His head and other open wounds had been dressed. The orbits of his eyes were dark, indicative of a severe head injury. An endo-trachial tube was secured to his mouth. The IV stand was stocked with two bags: one with clear fluid going to his right arm, and the other with a thick brown sludge going to his stomach.

Tears flowed down Ravan's freshly washed cheeks. She put her hands to her mouth and shook her head slowly. She approached his bedside and lay a trembling hand on his still one, being careful not to disturb the pulse oximeter on his index finger.

The young woman dropped to her knees and tried to calm her quivering lower lip. "Why?" Ravan asked him quietly, even though she was certain he couldn't hear her. "Why did I have to be so stubborn and insist on going through first. You wanted to take the risk, but I said no. And like the big, dumb, kind idiot you are, you let me have my way."

"I should've stayed behind." she insisted, a rising tension coming though her quiet words. "You told me to watch the kids. You shouldn't be here in this bed. It should be me."

She buried her head into his chest and sobbed quietly.

The wolf scoffed, "Conversing, is that what you call it when you eat someone and take everything they were for yourself. I can't see from where you tucked me away, but I heard the way you spoke to Eclipse. It sounded like Freya."

"So yeah, you haven't fully assimilated them, because emotions aren't absorbed. They are experienced, savored, denied, cherrished, wanted, cursed, and so on."

"Emotions are terrifying, but they can also be the most beautiful thing you've ever felt. You get that monster? Feel. Something you cannot do, but Freya and Okami did all too well. I am the woman's fury, and the shadow stalkers innocence. Everything they were is what I am left with in this Hell you've put me in. So spare me your excuses until you know real love and loss."

Loss was what kept coming up as Trinity was meditating over this overwhelming sadness as if she had loss someone. Unfortunately, to her knowledge no one close to her died recently. The most recent of which would be Teshoumaru, her sensei but she had already accepted his loss, thought she had moved passed it.

It feels like someone close to me has died... but as far as I know right now I don't know of anyone that had died recently. I feel this sadness but I can't mourn if I don't know whom to mourn for. But feeling this does count for something in a sense... it means I'm thinking of them even though I don't know who. she breathed out I shall mourn them once I do know... but until then I need to move beyond this sadness and focus on the impending apocolypse. The world is counting on me, on us... after a moment or two she was able to let go for the sadness for now. She emerged from Theonis' shadow a couple of minutes after she had left.

"Then I shall leave you be until the time comes for your second chance."

When she looked over to her son, it felt as if time itself had stopped. Her mind was racing and reaching all kinds of possibilities. Though her mindset wasn't the most stable she was thinking despite the emotional despair.

Is he infected?

No, he's still normal,

But he wont wake up.

No, he will. He's here, alive.

But what if he doesn't? Oh God, I should have never left them.

No, you gave them more time. You protected them.

But look at him!

Her mind flashed back to what Theo once told her. They were staring out of a window, the city before them in ruins. Countless monsters chasing survivors. Not of their group but still survivors. Their own group was in trouble as well. She was panicking. Theonis grabbed her by the shoulder. It was strange how the sight of him seemed to calm her down. Maybe it was the beard or the scar on his face but something always calmed her down.

"Calm down Goldie, just breathe and think of what you can do. There is always something that can be done."

She snapped back to reality. Looking at Leo then back to the doctor.

"Give him my blood. As much as you need. It might save him. I'm a regenerator. It can can save him. I know it can.

It was the wolf's turn for a moment of contemplative silence. She was surprised to hear no dishonesty in Legio's voice. Maybe the creature didn't know how to lie.

"No! Wait wait wait. Don't leave me alone in here.
I was just explaining the complexity of emotion and I got fired up. You wanted me to tell you why Freya went so far, right? I'll tell you. It was because of Rydia and Trinity."

"Rydia underwent the same regiment as anyone else in my clan. From the time we can walk without tumbling the training begins. It was harsh, brutal, and at times incredibly painful, but never without reason. A bond is built, especially among those of the same blood. In the case of Rydia it would be her mother, and my sister, that did her training. Eclipse killed Kaelonni and Rydia's father, Adam."

"Trinity was trained by my brother and Freya. She started much later, she was practically an adult.
People with Freya's type of lycanthropy cannot have children, but in her student she saw the daughter she had always wanted. She never said so, however because she didn't want Trinity to grow too attached"

"They are both young and impulsive. At the first chance they would have tried to kill Eclipse, and he would've killed them immediately. Freya went to kill him so that they wouldn't have to risk their lives.
She knew what to expect from him since they had fought before, but she didn't know that her brother was being used like a puppet."

Kerana

Her eyes widen at this revelation, she gazed in to Alec's eyes. "Alec... is this true? You accepted a deal with him?... Why would you do that? Why did you not tell me?" her eyes were filled with concern and worry.

Alec looked to Kerana, but he would not make eye contact with her.

"I had to. What's about to happen is even more dangerous than Legion." he explained.

Crosis turned and lowered his hood to Kerana in a sweeping motion. He was about to speak, but he paused for a moment. He took a closer look at the kitsune girl, using his ability to see how long her uninterrupted lifespan was. There was no number.

"Vivi...you have been granted Vivi's boon. That's how you did it. But how did she make the connection?"

The hood turned toward Damien. There was something strange about the boy, but he didn't want to press his luck with Silhouette.

He stood back up and hissed, "Eclipse plans to bring the Hellstar into this world. If he succeeds, there is no possible way to destroy it. No way but one."

"I cannot kill Eclipse due to our people's restrictions, nor can I kill the Hellstar...not as I am now. I can empower myself with the souls of the dead. With enough souls I can finally rid the Universe of the Hellstar."

"With that many souls I would need help. Alec is closely attuned to the aspect of death, so he was the best choice to assist me in this endevor. When he died two hours ago he agreed to assist me under the condition that I spare the soul of the hicce Kerana Carter."

Alec tensed his jaw, and hoped that they wouldn't ask how many souls it would take.

She snapped back to reality. Looking at Leo then back to the doctor.

"Give him my blood. As much as you need. It might save him. I'm a regenerator. It can can save him. I know it can.

The doctor that was in room 20 let Ravan have her moment with his patient. When the older woman came in and made her request he looked at her incredulously.

"Is your bloodtype O negative? Because his is. If I give a patient in condition the blood of an uncompatable regenerator it will kill him."
