Ok after over a year of having a 07 monte carlo SS and a 07 cobalt LT..I am going to rid of the Cobalt and rigging my SS into a drag ride...in other words CAR SHOPPING!!! I have 7 candidates... I would like to know what you guys would choose. Remember now..I'm not shopping for a car to run all out in..that is what the SS is for...I'm looking for something that has good handling for some light drifting on my way to school... has to handle a daily 2 hr MOUNTAIN TERRAIN drive, light body, and of course Gas mileage. My limit is 10 K and I'm not going past 05 and not aiming past 08. Here are the candidates..In order of my preference
1. 06 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS
2. 08 Dodge Avenger SE
3. 06 Mazda 6 I Sport
4. 07 Pontiac G6
5. 05 Hyundai Tiburon
6. 05 Ford Mustang
7. 06 Scion TC Sport
Which would you prefer? (not just like, but believe that would be an all around practical car to get)

I live barely 3 miles away from Pocono Raceway... and if you have seen glimpses of the area when they race at the track... you'll see mountains to the left..and mountains to the right... Nice scenery..However its a 50 min drive to my university and for thee most part civilization !!!

Judging from the list you've got there I'll assume money isn't really an obstical...so I'd go with the Mustang or the Mazda 6 xp

Get the mazda, those motors are built to take what they are given and have been for years. The mustang would be a good choice.. almost bought myself a new one recently.

Shadow7983
2005-2006 Subaru Legacy
2006-2007 Pontiac Grand Prix

The Pontiac Grand Prix was close but since the G6 is available it would be better to just go for it. As for the Subaru I'm kindve surprised that I have forgotten to look for that car... sweatdrop That is bad on my part....
@Dark- I will admit the Mazda is quite high on my list... I was huge fan of their 80's and 90's rides..but it took awhile for me to get used to the more "Ford" influenced rides of the 00's... However that has since changed biggrin ...

i really like those legacy's. There sporty, all wheel drive and surprisingly decent on gas mileage. That's the car i'd be looking at if it were me buying a newer car.

Decision has been made..deposit has been turned in...2006 Saturn Ion... Saturday I'm going to test drive it and then decide if I trully will buy it. I was kind of depressed to see so many (true) Americian make cars turn out to be crap on wheels...I have lost all respect for Pontiac and Chevy... Mitsubishi isn't high on my list anymore either stare
Every Pontiac 04 and on was riddled with 3 or more problems including a loss of power steering that was near over a quarter of all the cars. Impala had transmission issues...Eclipse had paint issues, and clutch issues, Avenger was better..but it drove and reminded me of the Dart... nice car but I could do better in the Gas mileage part, The Mazdas were great..lol that is if you can find one out here...all I wanted was either and 06 or 05... but atlas that was a difficult task in which to find a decent one. As for the Mustang... lol I have one gas gusler already..don't need a second one... So the Saturn Ion won... based on dependability, Gas, Friendship with dealer, Price, and plus I have never seen a Saturn break down before the 5 year mark... That and Honda. The Maxima came close..but its way to easy to break in FYI.
I'll have pics up when I get it.

Yeah but they cut that car back in 03 or 04 I think ...I was willing to go as far as 05..but no further... any further and I'll have to put some work in it before I graduated.

two weeks ago I was in a traffic accident, car headlights I suffered severe damage .. but some people say it is better to be repaired rather than replaced with a new one. I am confused about this, but when I try to check on the website toyota dealers in https://auto2000.co.id/ they say better be replaced. Can you guys give me feedback? because I think changing a new one would cost a lot because it is very expensive
