Gray, quiet and tired and mean
Picking at a worried seam
I try to make you mad at me over the phone.
Red eyes and fire and signs
I'm taken by a nursery rhyme
I want to make a ray of sunshine and never leave home

Arthur really did like bringing up Lost, didn't he? Alfred supposed - wait - he knew that England was just obsessed with all the American movies and TV shows he made. His negative critiques were never accurate, were they~?
"Maybe we are on the island... maybe we are..." Alfred attempted to sound mysterious and omniscient as he grinned stupidly. He was still toying with the idea of the spooky island story and was mentally logging every detail of the island for when he eventually did get back and make a movie about this. But then it began to dawn on him, this whole scary movie plot... he might not be able to get any sleep tonight if he kept thinking like that and he assumed they would be here until nightfall but he had no objection to that part, all the more fun!

Just don't start thinking of ghosts, Alfred...!
With that thought he couldn't help but find himself glancing over his shoulder. Ha, he knew they didn't exist really!

"Something to impress you? That should be too hard for me." Alfred smirked in return, letting the Englishman have his tease yet he still found himself pouting when Arthur pulled away. "You're no fun." The American mumbled quietly as he straightened up again.

Alfred didn't hear anything about fish but his face lit up when he heard Arthur mention something about swimming! That was what he was suggesting right?

America muttered, or rather exclaimed an 'Awesome!' as he grabbed Arthur by the wrist and dragging him back into the heat and sun which he had just carried him from.

Oh, wait... Texas...

Alfred took off the glasses only to examine how battered they got through prior events and he frowned at the wreck of one of his many beloved states then rested them carefully on the sand. "I'll fix ya up when we get back home." He was speaking to his glasses...

He then took a quick glance back at England and winked at him, taking off his jeans and diving into the sea.

No amount of coffee, no amount of crying
No amount of whiskey, no amount of wine
No, nothing else will do
I've gotta have you, I've gotta have you.

User Image You're not golden and I'm getting tired
Act like you own the place when really you've only just arrived
I caught first glimmers in hides and skins
Look who's all grown up, black swanning about the solar winds

Alfred's attempts at sounding ominous only merited him an eyeroll and a bit of a shove from the Englishman. He supposed it didn't hurt to lighten up the situation a little more; making up insane stories may just make the truth - whatever the hell that was, and there was no telling if they'd ever find out - a less of a painful blow. Something of a 'at least it could be worse' type of reassurance. The American was so ridiculously easily scared though, if any of these crazy notions were true, they really were done for.

Arthur scoffed at Alfred's cockiness, although impressing him was easier than it looked, the stubborn nation would never admit when he was. Naturally, he'd keep that stern, disenchanted look about his face, firing out criticism and remarks all too quickly. Still though, he appreciated the effort. It was always nice being entertained, whether or not for his approval.

Before he had time to remark a snarky challenge of "I'd like to see you try." his wrist was taken ahold of and he was flung back into the blinding sunlight and onto the blistering sand. "Wagh, ********> he exclaimed, stumbling over his own feet as they hit the stark contrast from the blissful shade. He sighed and shook his head as they reached the shore. "Always running headfirst into things, aren't you?" His lips formed a little pout as he folded his arms across his chest, cocking his head to one side. Alfred was a more than adequate swimmer, Arthur knew that, but he couldn't help but tease; "That dive was pathetic!" he called out after wincing a little from the splash. "You better make sure you don't bloody drown!"

He padded his way down further, so his toes sank into the wet sand, right at the edge of the sea. He frowned. "Need me to come in and look after you?" His whole body was immensely hot, the sea would provide with some relief. But somehow, he was just a little hesitant at the idea of swimming with Alfred...

Baby behave we'll make it work,
Are you with me?

Leave my door open just a crack

Why do I tire of counting sheep

The cool water ran over his skin, becoming immediately refreshing from the hot sun - admittedly it was a little too fresh at first, but he just had to get used to it. He held his nose and lifted his feet from the sandy sea bed and plummeted back in until his head was completely submerged into water and stayed there for a few seconds, testing to see how long he could hold his breath for. To be an astronaut yout have to know how to hold your breath for several minutes but he wasn't quite as good as he remembered being at it and he quickly broke through to the surface again. He shook his head like a wet dog to stop the water seeping into his eyes.

"Ow ow ow ow" He was too late for that and attempted to rub the salt water out.

"That dive was AWESOME! Ha ha!" The American proclaimed, still pathetically battling with the salt water in his eyes. "Like hell a hero can drown."

He finally stopped rubbing his eyes and after a few blurred blinks he stared at Arthur, who was still standing at the shoreline, America frowned. Why was he so hesitant? He supposed it must be the hangover or something.

"Yeah, Arthur, save me from the sharks! I don’t wanna get eaten!" He joked, satire really wasn’t working for the American, he had no idea how to use it yet somehow he was beginning picking up on what made England laugh, but he still didn’t understand why he could find so much humour in misery… "C’mon you fun sucker! Get in before you melt - or do you melt at the contact of water or something? Do I have to get out and drag you?"
