I think we have acomplished all that we can.
I don't think that gaia is going to remove the offers entirely.
IF they do it will be because of reasons other than us.

I do not have any ideas of what we could do right now other than monitor the offers and alert Gaia of scams, viruses, non gold granting or inapropriet offres.

I like the idea of the Wingdings.
sending private messages to the staff is probobly more effective.
we could wright a private message and then have a guild reprisentative send it.

I would like to keep getting the announcements because things change and this guild my be nedded in the future.

we could declare victory and throw a big party!

Our goal wasn't for all the offers to be removed, so that is not a concern at all.
I remember writing a letter to Fin without any sign of it ever being read....
I do however like the idea of being a monitoring guild, with people who are focused on the offers and will be ready to alert gaia at large when something questionable shows up.
This however, require than we are focused of the offers and DON'T b***h about how evil gaia is for not doing things your way
We are here because we love gaia. At least I am, and I will defend gaia, no matter how corrupt and evil it is, because gaia to me is more than that.

It's hard thinking what to do about this, although one thing I do see when people want to get the word out is a group submit avatars into the arena and link them all via the tags. I saw the 'HELL NO! WE WON'T GLOW!' lot do it once and some others showing the appreciation of the gasmasks.

What I think should be done about the offers is a gaia mod should go through them and complete them, then they can properly filter out what is and isn't a valid and safe offer. Although, to get them to do that would take a lot of convincing and I'm not too sure how that could be done.

I remember we did some arena entries once before, I think it'd be nice to do that again 3nodding

Let me just remind you that the mods are NOT gaia staff. Mods are regular users like you and me who have been privileged (or cursed) to moderate the forums - they have NOTHING with the offers to do and we should not bother a mod with this.

Besides, gaia has already stated multiple times that it is impossible for them to monitor and test all the offers. It is clearly not going to happen.

Meh twas just an idea, although it would be reassuring if Gaia could approve some of the offers no matter how impossible it is. I can understand that they can't go through every last one of them, but it would make me feel better if they could approve a few. It's very nerve racking signing up for an offer and not knowing if you're going to be hacked or scammed by it.

Also, I'd like them to approve the survey of the day thing, because like I stated in the offers log that I started, I've done several of them after being approved to do them and have gotten nothing. They said to me 'contact offerpal' which I did, but Offerpal wants something they can use as evidence, like a confirmation email, something you don't get when doing the surveys of the day. You get nothing when you complete them, I've tried sending that you do get, an offer number, screenshot of the 'Congradulations on completeing this survey' page, but still nothing.

That doesn't change the fact that the mods are not in any way hired gaia staff. Their only responsibility is to keep an eye on the forums and move inappropriate topics. other than that, they are ordinary gaians like you and me.

If they're just ordinary gaians like us, why do I always get told to contact a mod when someones giving me grief so they can ban them? Why everytime one of my threads is deleted because someones posted something inappropiate, it's a mod that tells me it's been deleted, yet when it's moved I've been told by a Dev?

I still think they should somehow give someone the power to monitor the offers and give us feedback somehow. Gaia is a big community, I don't see why they can't send out applications to become 'Offer confirmers' or something like that. They don't need to be payed, they can just report in a forum on what offers they think should be steered clear of and what ones are good and work. If they made an application form for that, I'd surely sign up for it.

As I said, they are ordinary gaians with some extra responsibility and their primary purpose is to keep an eye on the forums. They are not paid by gaia, so they are not gaia staff and should not be bothered with the offers because the offers have nothing at all to do with the work they volunteered to do. Why do people keep saying that we should bother them in this question?

They have given all of gaia the "power" to monitor the offers and report scams. It has been brought up over and over again that gaia should monitor the offers somehow and their basic response is "LULZ we dunn wanna and it's sooo hard to filter them!" They basically don't seem to want any responsibility whatsoever in the matter.
Although I admit, this is the first time I've heard the idea of making applications for ordinary users to be test patrol.

Do you have any more detailed ideas of how such an application should look? How would being in such a test group differ you from an ordinary gaian with a handy thread listing dangerous offers? Gaia has already made clear that it is seemingly impossible to filter the offers before they reach the community anyway since not even they know what they are going to get.

I'm not too sure how it could work overall, like how the application could be set out, maybe it could ask questions like how the gaians applying think the offers system can be improved or things like that.

The idea I had though was that before the offers become public to gaia, they could be made private whilst the testers can just go through them and make sure they're legit, like send out an announcement and say that offers won't be avaliable on monday and tuesday due to testing and updates or something.
