[ Elsa : Disney Castle : Main Library ]

Elsa's demeanor didn't change in the least as Carbuncle spoke, making her stand as it were. She listened and absorbed what was revealed, of course, but it did little to alter her expression or stance. It was when Kyla spoke up, once the "summon" was finally done, that the Ice Queen's facade softened--but only barely. Enough that, instead of a strict queen, she appeared more as a strict woman. The chill lightened up, if only a little.

"The end does not justify the means," she said, turning back to Carbuncle with a disciplinary gaze. "And the moment you fall into that mindset, then you're doing nothing but leading your partner deeper into darkness than you'd realize."

"If you truly cared so much about her, then perhaps," she began, walking down the aisle she'd come from, strolling through the bookshelves as she continued. "You should try emulating what she should learn. For instance... instead of attempting to manipulate me, you could have asked."

After all, if you could act out like that, what would stop you from being polite...

She paused, putting away some more books she'd left when Kyla had originally distracted her. She made no move to depart, but she also made no move to stop Kyla from her own exit.

"Merlin's told me of a theory about the laws of attraction. If you want something positive, you must focus on the positive," she started, and her voice, though a slight bit softer, was still chilly and distant. By bringing up her scars in such a way, so soon after the events--scars that were by no means healed--Carbuncle had made her put up her own frozen walls. "But if you focus on the negative, that's the only energy you invite into yourself. Emulating the Light invites it, and vice versa."

"I don't know what you suffer from, and chances are, Merlin or the others would be of far greater aid than myself, if you'd give them your ear," she said, gently sliding a tome covered in deep crimson cloth where it belonged on the shelf. "But if nothing else, I can tell you this: there's a reason that young man has saved the cosmos twice. And it has nothing to do with his Keyblade."

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Library]

Everything backfired. Kyla reacted in kind to Elsa’s walls by putting up her own. The distance was felt and accompanied each word from Elsa’s lips like a slap to the face. Kyla’s depression just wrote it off as: another lecture. Without any feeling, thanks to Carbuncle, Kyla didn’t think the woman cared at all at this point: the level of discomfort in the moment was turning Kyla completely off.

And still thinking Carbuncle was some semblance of her inner desire; the guilt hammered it in even harder. Her back began to ache.
“It’s sort of hard to emulate if you don’t understand. It thought I knew how to emulate the light, but I was wrong. Now no one wants to talk to me, if they cared… “That moment with Joe, then the words from Noelle came back to her-“-I don’t feel it.”

“- I tried talking about it already. There’s no point, no one understands, and I can’t ask for what I don’t deserve.” She sighed closing her eyes, she felt sick, so tired and now-cold.

“I think I know what Sora has- and if you’re right about Carbuncle, then I have nothing. If I could replace myself I would, then at least my team would have a competent ally. Alas, they’re stuck with a mess-”
Kyla caught herself realizing she was talking too much. She shut up and found three books to take with her.

“I’m sorry I’m being rude again. I fit my partner. I know you’re only trying to give me advice.” Everyone had advice- but no one seemed to actually care. Every time they said she had to emulate, invite, start acting different, it basically translated to- fix it yourself. She was trying. Darn it all she was trying!

”Thank you.” Her voice was monotone, guarded, and hollow, like she was just spent now. She began to turn and walk away. Carbuncle hopped off the shelf and looked desperately between Elsa and her partner exiting the library.
In a final act of desperation the summon ran back to the Queen, and put her tiny furry head to the marble floor in a bow. She did it so desperately the gemstone made a sharp klink on the floor.

“ I understand what I did was really really underhanded. What I did was wrong, I’m sorry, but please- please, I’m begging you. Please! Don’t let her get away! She wont ask, she wont, she feels too guilty. She just can't- I wish we had more time... for her to be ready but, we don't.” she hissed in whisper as Kyla’s footsteps began to go to the exit oblivious to her summon no longer following her.

[ Elsa : Disney Castle : Main Library ]

"If they cared... I don't feel it."

Elsa's hand slowed to a stop as she rand over the spines of various books in the row. She'd been lingering, if only to hear the woman's response, but she wasn't comfortable enough to show her face. However, the brunette spiraled deeper down, and each word rang hollower and hollower, giving Elsa an uncomfortable feeling. A discomfort she hadn't really felt since... him.

"There’s no point, no one understands, and I can’t ask for what I don’t deserve."

Her hand gently dropped down to hang on the bookshelf. Was she really so blind?

When the creature came running back, Elsa's guard at first went right back up--Carbuncle may have had well-meaning intentions, but her utter disregard for others left a bitter mark for the Ice Queen. Even now, part of Elsa wondered if the apologies were only there to, once again, serve the summon's ends. All the same...

This girl will get swallowed whole.

Dropping her head and sighing--seeming to barely even recognize Carbuncle--she flicked her wrist outward, and a small blizzard flew from her palms, rushing around the bookcases, up and above, until finally crashing down--

--and blocking the entrance with an impenetrable wall of ice.

"You say you've tried talking," she said, walking slowly out of the aisle to look toward Kyla, her eyes searching. "And yet you haven't actually said a word about your issue to me. Your partner's done most of the talking, and honestly not a good job of it--" she tried to smile, as if lightening the mood, but even that felt strained. A flash in her mind, a cold statue, too lifelike, too lifeless-- "--is that maybe the issue? How many people have you actually, fully explained your situation to? Not just hinting and beating around the bush? It's hard for people to know how to help when they don't know what it is that needs help to begin with."

"You don't have to keep your distance anymore."

"I know you mean well, but leave me be."

[[Louis? : Inside Kyla : Disney Castle Library]]

The beastial boy remained silent, watching everything happen, silent, deathly so. As much as he wanted to speak up, as much as he desired to be helpful and aid his friend in a moment of need, he was worthless. He narrowed his eyes at the whole situation. It was frustrating to watch, infuriating to sit by, crushing to watch it fall apart.

He groaned and splayed out, laying his chin flat on the bookshelf, his arms hanging off each side. He took a deep breath and sighed. Looking at Carbuncle who was left behind bowing her head.

With a groan he lifted himself up and dropped down, wincing as his feet hit the floor. He moved across the way and knelt down next to Carbuncle, petting the creature's back softly from the ears back, careful not to catch her with his elongated claws, "You did your best..."

[Kyla/Tyue: Disney Castle: Library]

The summon, having hid it’s shame fairly well from the Icy Queen, mewed painfully reflecting how it truly felt while Louis pet it’s back. Her soft fur only detectable to his fingers as she made herself completely phantasmal again.
~ When this is over, if she can focus, or… just rest a bit.. I bet she’ll hear you if you tried talking to her again, I bet she’d really like hearing your voice.~
Amazing…

Kyla stared into the frozen wall that bared her exit, almost entranced. Her reflection wavered in the surface, like a warped version of herself.
A warped version of herself.
Kyla – for just a moment, reached out a fingertip, to her mirror that copied every movement.

“I’m always, two minds about the same thing.” The ice felt cold as expected, clinging to her dry heated skin. Frost tingled her nail tip. She watched her reflection, and that of Elsa behind her, using the surface to look at her for a moment.

“I… try to keep personal matters- personal. It’s quite rude to just- dump your troubles on complete stranger. Not everyone wants or can- listen to someone baring their soul. I mean- what can they expect to do for you? It’s very selfish to assume tor expect they can fix it. Just the thought of placing such a burden on someone else…I can’t do it.”

She hit the wall with her hand, it's solid sound made a resounding thud, that emphasised that she was not getting away, unless she used her own powers.
there was no way in hell Kyla would raise her pen against Elsa.

No choice now.

Placing her hand against the ice, it’s bitter cold felt oddly good somehow at the moment. She turned slowly to look at the real Elsa now.
“I selfishly told Riku most of it I think. And… Kyle, sort of and Maggie. Each of them you could say knows a piece of the real picture. I can’t bring myself to tell them everything, because the full picture is too horrifying to look at. Even I have to break it up in my head in order to stare at it.”
Her hand pulled off the wall with some difficulty.
“I can’t- if they knew,… there’s no way they could ever accept me. I wouldn’t.”

“I’m a screw up, I always have been.”

“I can’t let them see how I really feel about this whole thing, it would make them so disgusted at me.” She looked back at her reflection, like at any moment it would pop out and become a second Kai.
“Besides, the way things are now, if they stay away then they won’t become targets. There’s someone very dangerous out there, who knows that. But if she thinks they don’t care, if she thinks I’m all alone-”

“-they’ll be safe, from me, from the ‘other’ me.”

Kyla turned around fully and this time leaned back against her reflection, the wall held her weight easily. The coolness seeped into her clothes and she welcomed it for the time being. Its bite made her mind clear and awake.

“When all this started I thought I could start all over. I thought I could make- myself into the perfect ally. No troubles. No worries. They could put their trust in me and know I could help them with my powers. I don’t want them to know what I’m capable of if I lose control.- I mean” she threw up her arms agast at the discovery-“ I thought ti was all a dream the first time. I horrible nightmare caused by the calamity fo losing my home, but just now- just now I find out what I spawned in running around like some rabid dog at the whim of the most insane fabrication of my most insidious dark side imaginable.”

“And here I am panicking over what’s to come while- some people think I’m just in it for some selfish dream of heroic grandeur,”

“The truth is every second I’m thinking, and correcting and fixing and adjusting everything about myself to make absolutely sure… I don’t feel these things, and end up turning them into monsters.” The brunet shook her head as her glasses fogged up, she could feel hot tears in her eyes and Kyla beat the sides of her head while shaking it harder to try and make it stop.

“I can’t bring my sister back." her voice was suddenly tiny. So tiny and she backed against the wall with a thud-
"She’s gone, and it’s all my fault! It really is all my fault...”
She dropped to the floor burying her face in the book, her legs crouched beneath her, her hair splayed about on the floor.

“I’m afraid. I’m so afraid if I let them know, they won’t care, worse maybe they will and reject me- or just laugh it off, say it’s nothing! Act like it’s all in my head and I’m just making a big deal out of nothing- but it IS a big deal! It’s a real big deal! It’s been my hell for my whole life, and now this entire situation has magnified it a hundred times fold!”

When the silence hung there a moment Kyla's voice was so small now. But in the silence and space of the now enclosed library- it could be heared.
"..I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm being very very selfish right now."

"I want to be alone. And yet I don't. It doens't make any sense." and it was true. She wanted out, she wanted in. She wanted to run away, and be closer to them, to be happy like them, to keep smiling in the festivities outside. She wanted to run to Maggie and take everything back, and at the same time, never see her disapointed and worried face again.

Her face pressed into the pages of her book, and the pages began to glow. Something began to take shape around the girl without her really paying attention. It looked a lot like that shieled she used, only it wasn't forming as quickly as they normally do, it encircled her, reflected the walls she was trying to put around herself while simultaniously trying to keep open in order to communicate. Petals, peices of wall like petals moved like ghosts aroudn the curled up mage on the floor, not yet solid, yet not disappearing, showing her indecition. Summoned, yet not summoned, cast and not cast, run and hide, or staying to talk.
If Elsa drew closer she could pass through them without any issue.

[ Elsa : Disney Castle : Main Library ]

The Ice Queen stood there, and listened to Kyla, ready to respond.

And she kept listening.

And continued to listen.

She remained where she was as Kyla spoke, even as she slid down and finished speaking, her barriers slowly coming up. Elsa didn't make any motion to press forward, for two reasons: first, she had no idea what the girl's magic might cause, given that there was apparently the concern that she could lose control, and second, she hardly knew the woman--she wasn't going to invade personal space when she could very well speak from her position.

"That's quite the response," she said, turning to directly face the mage. She hesitated for a moment, trying to figure out where to start--and decided that was a good place as it was. "A bit overwhelming in the delivery, if I'm being honest. It's not that I can't give advice, but... you've given me so much at one time that I don't know where to start."

"When you want to have a conversation, you might not want to dominate it. People might miss points, and feel more like they're being talked to, not with. Besides," she said, walking slightly forward before using a small, directed blizzard to slide a library chair toward her--lifting it up with ice and forming a slide, as it were, until it reached her. She took a small seat. "Just like solving problems, when you discuss them, you should take them step by step. If you face them all at once, they seem insurmountable--and if you talk about them all at once, the other person might feel useless. Breaking problems down into smaller steps make them easier to solve... and discuss."

"So, um, why don't we start from the beginning," she said, not admitting that it was one of the few things she could actually absorb from the entire admission. She leaned forward, her elbows on her knees as she gave Kyla an awkward attempt at an assuring appearance. She was used to being in Kyla's shoes, not the helper's. "Why do you think it's selfish to ask for help?"

{Bobbi .:. Disney Castle .:. Stables >> Library}

It took a whole lot longer and at least three gallons more wriggling than she thought it should, but eventually Bobbi managed to extract herself from beneath her sleepy and apparently very cuddly chocobo. She dusted straw and stray feathers from herself, scratched Xabi behind the crest one last time, and headed out the stable into the palace proper.

She looked around for a moment, torn between exploring and doing some sort of quiet but lazy activity. It felt like years since the last time any of them had a moment of leisure, and since they now had hours to themselves, Bobbi's hands were itching to hold a book. A tale of high adventure, with magic and monsters and… everything her life now held for her. What an odd thought.

"Library it is!" she said, ignoring the odd looks of the people passing her in the hallway. She wound her way through the palace proper, having memorized her way to the hallowed halls of literature the last time she was here. Oooh, and a thought: she might meet Belle there! Of all the Disney princesses, Belle was the one Bobbi had most identified with as a kid. A plain little sparrow of a bookworm wanting nothing more than magic and adventure in her life. Funny how they both got their wishes. She'd love to sit down with Belle and just chat for hours on end, trading daydreams of days long past and recommending books to each other.

Assuming Disney had books Bobbi was familiar with, of course.

When she got to the entrance to the Library, she was a little surprised to find a wall of ice blocking it. She stared for a moment, blinking, wondering if maybe she'd accidentally barred the place while her consciousness had been talking to Louis? But no, if that was the case, things would be a whole lot more destroyed.

"Um, excuse me?" she said, knocking on the ice like it was a door. "Is the library closed or something? I mean ice is my element, I'm sure I could take this wall down if someone accidentally left it up, but I don't want to interrupt anyone working or anything."

{Zell, Yuffie .:. Disney Castle Town .:. Fair Grounds}

"Ooooh," Yuffie crooned at Joe's explanation, looking at the water in her cup with a little more appreciation. "Pfft, yeah, who wants to get sick? Bottom's up!" And she downed the entire horn in one gulp, right when Cloud wrenched Zell around with murder in his eyes.

AAAAH NO I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE!!! Zell thought in a panic as Joe explained the situation. And then Joe decided to mention talking things over like adults when Zell thought it was perfectly clear that Cloud was on a murderous rampage and no amount of talking like adults was going to calm him down. In fact, Zell was pretty sure the suggestion would just enrage Cloud further! So he held up his hands defensively and contrived to look innocent.

"Cloud, you old fuddy duddy! Join us for some drinks! They've got good stuff here!" Yuffie called when she noticed her friend in a drunken attempt to diffuse the situation herself. Or maybe she just didn't notice Cloud about to rip heads off. Either way, Zell could have face palmed if he wasn't in fear for his life. Further drinking would not help the situation!

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Library]

Nodding her head still buried in her book, the constructive approach Elsa was taking to the conversation calmed the artist down a bit. “Back home…I found when I didn’t explain the whole story first, people would assume the rest, and I would never get to finish before they went off-”

Then Elsa asked something, something that, until now, Kyla hadn’t really analyzed before, simply because- why would someone ask that at all? Of course she’s being selfish! She’s dumping all her problems on someone else! Not to mention on ELSA- of ALL people! Someone who clearly Just handled her own personal issues and after what Tyue did was in no real settled state of her own to be disturbed by someone who is ‘supposed’ to be a chosen warrior of the light- right?

Slowly the girl raised her head, the tresses of her long brown bangs parting so she could peer at Elsa, now crouched over a little, closer with that expression. It was awkward, but genuine in it’s attempt.

“I-…isn’t it?”

“- I mean, I- My ‘other half’ just did something reprehensible. I’m- I’m bothering you- you of all people, we just met! I’m some Earthling whose supposed to help put things right, not having a mental break down while a party rages outside the castle. I shouldn’t expect someone else to help me. It’s not their responsibility. Besides…”

She straightened up, back against the wall.

“I have to be stronger.”

And?

AND?

“-… because, I’d get in trouble otherwise. I don’t want to disappoint any one, so much has happened in so little time. Pretty soon, this will all be over someday. I shouldn't get used to this sort of treatment."

And I'll be alone again.

Just then someone began talking fomr behind the wall, that someone ebing Bobbi of all people, and Kyla, immediatly recognizing her voice, jumped and turned about looking at the wall behind her somwhat fearfully.

Sayrike: biggrin rinking Tent

" 'EY! John! Yes, yes, come on board! You look like you can hold a few drinks! Up to the challenge?" the blue mage greeted. She studied the table for a few seconds before answering his question. "Well, these guys are pretty new to beer pong, so should we keep it simple?" Over the charms, she said only to John, <> She gave a bit of a pleading and apologetic smile, hoping her partner would announce a clear set of ground rules for the game for the whole audience to hear.

[ Elsa : Disney Castle : Main Library ]

Elsa softly shook her head when Kyla first responded with her initial question, though she didn't speak up yet to let her finish her point. Yes, it was a bit strange for Kyla to unload on a stranger rather than a trusted friend, but then, sometimes it was easier to get help from an outside point of view. Merlin had called them "therapists", though they had no such things in Arendelle.

And yet still, Kyla just seemed to be looking at things all the wrong way... the ways that led down lonely paths. Darker paths.

Before she could properly respond, someone knocked on the ice wall and spoke up--another woman, and from Kyla's reaction, someone Elsa wagered she knew. Further, she bet another Earthling; only world leaders, wise ones, fellow princesses, and Earthlings actually resided in the castle. And as far as she knew, none of them had "elements"--especially not ice, besides herself.

"Yen Sid has often said that being truly Light is accepting both the good and the bad, the stars and the shadows," she said softly, not enough to pierce the icy barrier. "The path of light, though, is not necessarily extroversion, as he assured me--" The queen gave a small, knowing smile. She wasn't exactly a partier like Anna by any means. "--but simply bonds and unity. We are infinitely stronger together, leaning on and supporting one another--not exclusively, but mutually--than we could ever be apart... and I think it's time you open your eyes to just how true that can be."

At that time, the ice wall behind Kyla began to tremble slightly. Not visible from the library side, an opening was slowly forming in the frozen blockade for Bobbi to walk through. It wouldn't completely open up--lest Kyla attempt to escape--but with every step Bobbi took, more would open ahead of her, and close behind her, until she was finally let inside the library, with the wall back up.

From her seat, Elsa would have given Bobbi a courteous smile, nodding in greeting. "Sorry about that, just having a small chat. You wouldn't happen to know my friend here, would you?"

{Bobbi .:. Disney Castle .:. Library}

As the barrier opened a little pathway through, Bobbi stepped into the library, eyes mostly on her feet to make sure she wouldn't trip on anything the ice had hidden.

"So long as I'm not intruding," she said, looking up. When she saw who was before her, though, her eyes widened in surprise and she tried on instinct to curtsey. "Elsa! I mean, Queen Elsa. I mean—crap, it's hard to curtsey in pants. Um, hi?" Bobbi could have cursed herself; of course she went into full-blown ditz mode on seeing the Queen of Arendelle. She could have face palmed if she hadn't turned her attempted curtsey into a bow. There was nothing dignified or respectful about face palming mid-bow.

Then again what little dignity I had just went flying merrily out the window. I don't think I'll ever get used to running into royalty every time I turn around. They keep multiplying!

When Elsa mentioned her friend, Bobbi's eyes darted over to see Kyla standing there, looking pale and drawn and about ready to collapse. Not to mention no little frightened.

"Oh, hi Kyla!" Bobbi said, not noticing the state her friend was in. Then she blinked and peered a little closer, a frown of worry creasing her face as Kyla's condition penetrated her thick skull. She reached out one hand to place it on Kyla's shoulder, but drew back before contact was made, not sure if it would be welcome. "Are you okay?"

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Library]

Something particular stood out along Elsa’s reply which Kyla hadn’t realized was important to he ron some level.

"The path of light, though, is not necessarily extroversion, as he assured me-”

Though she hadn’t realized it, Kyla had to admit to herself part of the reason she doubted any progression was from how much warrant she lacked in a complete change of persona.
"--but simply bonds and unity."

Bring true to herself was something she always felt was important, but if being a person truly supported by the light meant she had to pretend to be a sunny sided person all the time, someone everyone liked, Kyla didn’t think she had the strength to keep that up. Inside she was too tired. Being around so many people made her tired even now no matter how much she wanted to be with them.

‘ bonds of unity huh?’

Like the one I share with my summon?
As Elsa allowed Bobbi to come in, Kyla felt her nerves get tighter and tighter. Bobbi may come across as a brash person, but she wasn’t stupid or completely oblivious. A memory of when she first offered to sit down with her came back to mind.

Back when they lost Cory.

In fact, as Bobbi’s expression changed from her usual friendly one to a more concerned frown, the artist realized she’d seen that expression a few times actually. More then one bobbi had reached for her like this in one way or another. Casting a glance towards Elsa, like a child waiting permission to try something- the bespectacled mage returned her gaze to the archer who’s hand hovered above her shoulder.

“…truthfully… no. No I’m not ok.”

"What's wrong?" Bobbi asked, her frown immediately deepening for a split second before she smoothed her features into an expression of simple, if earnest, concern. She hadn't missed the glance towards Elsa, but decided to ignore it. Instead, she leaned against the renewed ice barrier, crossing her arms over her chest as she did so. "I mean aside from the obvious."

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Library]

“It’s… a long story.”

There it was again, the hesitation. But why with Bobbi?
Was because of the intimacy? Despite how she knew Elsa’s story, the Queen was a stranger, unbiased in a way. For some reason she feared what Bobbi might think of her.

Well, regardless, obviously Bobbi was willing to hear this story of hers. Kyla tried her best to condense it, and not- dominate the conversation- like she had with Elsa.

“ I... I think I’m, sick, or.. something. There’s something wrong with me. A lot of things actually and this whole adventure of ours has only aggravated it. Resulting in something I think may come back to bite everyone the moment we leave the barrier. Problem is... the root of the problem is- well- personal. I don’t feel comfortable telling everyone about it.”

Her eyes went down cast to the floor again, watching Bobbi’s distorted image in the marble floor- awash with the blue crystalline ice behind her.
"It's confusing. Ina way everyone has a right to know who they're traveling with- at the same time, it's.. still private, embarassing, shameful."

{Bobbi .:. Disney Castle .:. Library}

Bobbi nodded along with Kyla's story, frowning a little as she concentrated on her friend's words. She was silent for a moment, weighing Kyla's words in her mind. On the one hand, she understood Kyla's hesitancy to tell anyone anything she might find shameful or embarrassing—oh, how she understood that. For all that Bobbi claimed to have no shame, she could still be very hesitant to say or do anything that might cause someone to view her in a negative light, especially if she liked or respected the person she was interacting with but didn't know them very well. There were only so many ribald jokes you could get away with around strangers, after all. But on the other hand, if there was any danger to the group or the worlds, then everyone needed to know about it.

"I think," she said, slowly, considering each word before she said it, "maybe, you need to decide if any potential embarrassment or shame on your part is worth risking the safety of your friends, or of innocent bystanders. We might not need the personal details, unless you really think they'd be useful in combating whatever you think is out there, but we should at least head out forewarned and forearmed."

She looked up, then, trying to lock gazes with Kyla, who seemed bent on studying the floor. The archer stepped forward and placed a hand under Kyla's chin to tilt her head up, so Bobbi could look her in the eyes.

"And really, if you need to talk, to get anything off your chest, that's what I'm here for. When I'm not turning Heartless into pin cushions, that is." A gentle smile crossed Bobbi's lips at the last, hoping to at least elicit a chuckle out of the pictomancer.
