Yeh! We're looking a lil bit more alive now! Heya Chimera biggrin

YEAH. Buying that. End of story. talk2hand

Yeah, Liberal Arts is like Engineering---everyone and their mother has a degree in it, and it works for pretty much everything.

Criminal justice is awesome; if this was last year, I'd be jumping on the bandwagon with you. But now, I think my major is going to be Graphic Design for like 2 years, and then switch over to either Pre-Med or Biology and then transfer out to a different college (yeah, on the advice of my Uncle, I'm going to community college for the beginning of my degree to save money and make a little bit so I don't have to immediately take out a loan). BTW, I'm pretty sure a law career for the state for a few years results in loan forgiveness, but I'm not sure. You should look into it before you transfer.

Really? You can do it on the Ti-84s. They're a little expensive as far as calculators go (I think $150? But they're getting old, so you'll probably save a couple bucks), but they have all the good features... Like, cheating on tests. =/ I plan on using it for my midterm, even though our teacher gave up on us and is letting us use a cheat sheet. Her cheat sheet had too many rules, and I don't want to remember it all, so I'm putting the things not allowed on the sheet in the calculator.

Annnnnnndddd check out chegg.com for renting school books. Use the passcode ZINCH to save an extra 10% off your first order, but you didn't hear it from me. wink

Yeah I was originally gonna start at the University straight out of high school but I took a look at the cost and figured I didn't necessarily need to start at the University sweatdrop Quite glad I went with the community college, I got a feeling I had it easier by taking most my basic classes there first. I'll certainly look into that for the loan in case I need to get one, I can use any bit of help with cash. I'm lucky in that my dad is in the military and he is gonna let me use his G.I. bill for the university, so I think my college will pretty much be covered, though he wants the leftovers of the bill in case he ever wants to go back to college again.

Haha thanks, already got my book for my summer class though, in fact it starts tomorrow razz Kinda glad actually, I hate being home bored too many days a week.

Oh really? I had no idea the money could be used for other people... I'd better have a chat with my dad some day soon. twisted

Hi Balvyne!

I used to work with a guy who joined the Army just for the money. He said that he had some debts to pay off. Strange thing was, he's younger than I am.

Yeah I think there was some change to the G.I. bill where they can let a dependant use it for their college.

Debts to pay off? Sounds ominous xd

My plan is to join the National Guard as an officer after my 4 years of college and do Security Forces to get military and police training at the same time biggrin and from there go for either the FBI or NSA.

Tell me about it. He was 19, no credit card, and still living at home. I can't think of any reason he would have any debts.

College loan maybe? Although 19 also sounds a bit early to have a loan to pay off.

Nope. He was planning on going to college after the Army.

I wonder if a job with the FBI is anything like books/movies make them out to be.....

Extreme and hardcore? It would be cool, but I doubt it would be as intense as the movies. They do a lot of protecting against and combating of major crime though, and I like the sound of protecting against and combating of major crime biggrin

Oooh I just had a thought, what about debts to pay to society?

3nodding I'd love to do that sorta thing myself, but I don't think I'm cut out to be even a beat cop. I'm going to be going to school to get my EMT license.

You mean some sort of misdo miner pileup? Possible. He is a horrible driver. One time he drove his car nose first into a 5ft deep sinkhole filled with water thinking he could hydroplane across. Auto repair bills could be possible then.....

Lol I never replied cuz I saw the last post date which was June 11 and was like, "Eh no new replies, sad face.", so then I came by to place a "for shame" to the guild and realized whoops.

@Chimera

It's kinda difficult to tell if I could do it or not. I'm very confident that I have the mental stability for the job, but physical-wise I'm not so sure, though everybody else thinks I should be a shoe-in. Hard to know how fit is fit enough until you get there I figure. But I also have quite the 'adaptable' personality (thought that was clever), and am a quick learner, so after gaining some experience along the way I'm certain I'll be ready.

Ah one of my friends is going into EMT as well, though I can't remember for what, that's cool.

I don't really know what I meant by that now sweatdrop I think by "debts to pay to society" I meant it in like a benevolent way or something haha, but that makes sense too xd
