So... I read Burn for Me even though I said I'd pass on it. It was at the used bookstore for 2$. sweatdrop
It wasn't all that great in my opinion. It was a lot like the On the Edge series only worse: poor, tough, but overall powerless girl meets super rich, powerful badass dude with a troubled past. She hates him, he wants her, they spend the entire book wanting/thinking/fantasizing about sleeping with each other and somehow, in between all the angst, managed to stop the bad guy. They don't sleep together in this book but this is the start of the Hidden Legacy series so it looks like book 2 will be more of the same.

I probably would have gotten it for $2 too. XD But probably not full price... Sounds like it isn't worth it.

It was barely worth the 2$. I hate romances but I was actually wishing they'd sleep together so they'd quit agonizing over it and get on with the story. Instead of writing this crap they need to be working on Kate's story so I don't have to wait over a year between each book. stare

Finished it! It was good, but anticlimactic. They spent the previous books making such a big deal about how there would be an epic throw-down when Roland found out about Kate. Then Roland finds out about Kate and ... he wants to play grandpa?

It appears I have not read the last two Kate books. I have no idea how I missed this. But I might be wrong and I may have read at least one. I just know that they are still on my recommendations on Amazon. So I may have read Magic Breaks and just not told Amazon I bought it, if I got it at Barnes and Noble or something. But if I did... then I have no idea where it is in my mess of books (I have way too many bookshelves in no state of organization) and also no memory of what happened (which is not surprising--I remember nothing shortly after I read books sometimes). I definitely did not read Magic Shifts.
I will have to see if I have Magic Breaks around somewhere, otherwise I'll order it this week...
Actually, Magic Slays might have been the last one I read... How did this happen?!

And Magic Shifts came out last month, so you're 3 books behind. But its in hardback so it'll be another year before I get to read it. stare

I think hardcover was why I didn't get the last one (or two). And then I just forgot... Oops. I'm sort of unmotivated to buy them because I don't really have time to read them right now, though. Maybe I'll just get all the ones I missed as a graduation present to myself at the end of the school year. XD
