            Welcome to A Roleplay Experiment! Here's an overview of the guild:

            ♦ Its primary purpose is to house roleplays that require very little preparation. That means no lengthy profiles, no extremely complicated backstories or complicated pre-determined locations, and very few character requirements. For example, no "I'm looking for (insert specific race, gender, or canon character here)." These roleplays are location-based, not plot-based. It's essentially a series of "walk in" roleplays. This means people can have as many characters as they want, and their characters can be in multiple places at the same time with no complication.

            ♦ Open world development. Essentially, characters arrive in a location that's loosely defined - for example, a tavern - and interact there. The story can progress to different locations and even universes but the idea is that there is no requirement to return or a strict plotline to follow.

            ♦ Literate/traditional RPs are very welcome, too. There's a subforum for literate RPs. This is where you'd put your traditional plot-based RPs with character requirements and longer posts. You also have the option to "close" those RPs, unlike the ones in the walk-in thread.

            For this to work out well, a few things need to happen.

            ♦ We need a ton of people. For things to stay fast-paced, there should usually be people around. The way we go about getting a lot of people is inviting others and then waiting for a few to become regulars. Regulars are key.

            ♦ No requirements to join the guild. This speaks for itself. No one can wait for admission if we want to keep this fast and easy. Also, thanks to generous donations, guild admission is now free!

            ♦ The ability to go on indefinite hiatus. If you're busy, take some time off. God knows I'll probably end up doing this at some point. The idea is that you'll always have a place to go to RP if you wish.

            Anyway, if you're interested in this, the best way to support it is to join and start a roleplay! Or at the least play the word games. I'll be promoting the words games quite a bit. They're my favorite.
