"Y'all."

Dairy Queen and Dr Pepper. A love-hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys. The Alamo, and automatically hating a man named "Santa Anna" no one else in the country even knows about. Bragging to other-staters about how Texas was once its own country. Gettin' burned on the stomach by your seatbelt during summer. Switching your car's thermostat from "heater" to "A/C" in the same day during the winter. At some point in your life, gettin' lost driving in Dallas, Fort Worth, or Houston. And after an hour or so, cursing lots out your window. Using the word "yankee" as an insult. Having snowball fights once every three years, even though only half an inch of the stuff managed to come down. Getting funny looks from yankees when you do. Making fun of Arkansas. Having seen over 100 armadillos in your life, none of them alive, most by a roadside.

This is an area for the Gaia's Texans; a guild exclusively for those who live in Texas, native Texans living off state soil, and those otherwise connected to our great state. From El Paso to Texarkana, Brownsville to the Panhandle, we now have an on-Gaia place to socialize with our state compatriots.

In your request to join this guild, simply state where you are (or are from) in Texas, or if not a Texan, information relevant to your being accepted (such as being married to a Texan, etc). We also accept the occasional Oklahoman, since y'all don't have a guild on Gaia. =P (hold the phone! Oklahoman's now have a guild).

If curious, the 36 gold entry fee represents 1836, the year of Texas' independence and the Battle of the Alamo. The small fee's just used as a means of keeping track of new users in the guild's Account Log as you join, and I always pick a number that'll also serve as a historical reminder. If you're strapped for gold, I'll personally refund the join fee to your account, just send a PM after you're accepted to the guild.
