Hello and welcome. This is a roleplay designed to portray the realities of life in a post apocalyptic world. Key word there was REALITY. No more unlimited ammo, no killing everything with a perfect headshot, no fifteen year olds running around with the physical skill of a seasoned marine. Infact, few kids at all. Current events are what keeps the plot rolling in this roleplay, so expect many twists and laughs--since this set four years in the future, we are just toying with outcomes of today's events. This is a semi-literate roleplay; we expect at least two paragraphs of 6-8 sentences. Please read the background story below before going any further.



In 2009 Russia threatened Canadian territory by scouting the North West passage. In 2010 they flew fighter jets over Canadian air space, strengthening the tension between the two nations.

In 2011 earthquakes rocked the nations of Japan and New Zealand unleashing devastation previously unknown to humanity and resulting in nuclear leaks. Japan decided to release toxic waste into the ocean to relieve the nuclear pressure. Later this same year, Osama was killed after a ten year manhunt by the Americans. While most rejoiced, others questioned the necessity of murder and some cried conspiracy.

The beginning of 2012 was marked by rapid development of flu-like viruses beginning in the Philippines and seeming to follow the ocean currents south of Japan to Australia, and across the Pacific to the Americas. Scientists hurried to create vaccines but were confounded by the rapid mutations their vaccines caused in some patients. However, shortages worldwide demanded they push their concerns to the back burner.

By mid-April, there was worldwide isolation. Travel became illegal save for importing and exporting goods. Governments competed to be the first nation to uncover the cure, choosing the sick and the weak to test their vaccines upon. Many chosen for 'treatment' were not seen or heard of for a long time. Thanks to the TV, internet, and cell phones, conspiracy theories ran amok.

In June 2012, humanity began to panic as the nations of Africa practically disappeared one by one. By mid-July, Africa was lost. Many governments sent their military to investigate but no answers were given, nor did any return. Many soldiers suddenly went AWOL along with their families. Canada took advantage of the opportunity to declare war on Russia and a short three month war was waged. In November, Canada sent over boatloads of their 'healthy' citizens to live in Eden--the old Russia--and by January 2013 they too had fallen off the radar.

In early 2013, China closed its borders to all, as well as destroyed its communications to the world. Shortly after, Australia, Germany, India, Pakistan, France, Morocco, Sweden, Mexico, and Brazil followed suit. Over the course of the year, only three nations remained in contact: America, England, and New Zealand.

2014 was the year of rioting, after it was released that America was responsible for the earthquakes, global warming, and altering mental perception via the military weapon HAARP(High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program). This marked the end of communications between nations, as well as the end of organized government. Martial Law came into effect as entire cities destroyed themselves overnight. Rioters destroyed government compounds wherever they could find them. Some were burnt to the ground. Others were overrun by rednecks with shotguns. Politicians, scientists, researchers, and the military were run out of town or killed in the streets along with their families. Finally, the punks got their long sought after dream:anarchy. Gangs were formed in the larger cities, some taking control of former government research facilities. Within these facilities, humanity finally found its answer to the age old question: where do you go when you die?

It is 2015. You have survived through unrest, contagion, loss of loved ones, complete and utter chaos, but...will you survive the Walkers?
