A new take on free form roleplaying, The Records of Saegareth is a literate fantasy RP that promotes learning how to improve your writing. Following the overall history of the post apocalyptic world of Saegareth, you will take the role of a character from your choice of the nation of the Unholy, the Holy, or the neutral nation of the mercenaries, and join in the fight to take over Saegareth and restore peace.

Below is a brief history of the World of Saegareth and an example of the style of roleplay and writing we expect of our members

There is a dark cave in a dark part of the land. If one is brave enough to venture into that cave they will find themselves face to face with an ancient, but beautiful seer, a woman apparently trapped in some form of stasis. She seems to be surrounded by an elaborate throne of diamond and ice. The cavern is not particularly cold, but the woman's slightly parted lips are tinged with blue. If one was to look closely one would see a ghostly mist of breath hitting freezing air escaping her lips and if one watched closely they would see the slow rise and fall of her chest. Blue cloth drapes over her body, forming loose haphazard clothes, almost as if she was a pale statue and her artist had thrown clothes on her as an afterthought. Her body is artfully arranged on her crystalline throne, one leg crossed over the other, her hips slightly twisted, creating a smooth, sensual curve along the length of her side. Her arms rest regally along the armrest of her throne, and her shoulders are thrown back in a proud posture. The blue cloth caresses the smooth curve of her breasts, covering everything and nothing, but while the seer makes for a sensual image it is not at all sexual. The seer's head remains lowered, as if she is asleep and she will say nothing as you stand before her.

But if one was to give her a proper offering and stand before her long enough the seer will raise her head. Her closed eyes are hidden in the shadow that her blue hood cast across the upper portion of her face. As she raises her head, her long lashes part, revealing the milky white blind eyes of the seer. Her eyes appear to train on whoever is before her and then they focus and it feels almost as if she is staring directly into the deepest depths of your mind, reading it like an open book. And then she begins to speak. The words are in a language long lost, one that you wouldn't normally be able to understand, except that she seems to be speaking directly to your mind and your mind has the ability to translate the words into the vernacular. The worlds are like a lullaby and you find yourself being drawn into what feels like a deep sleep. What happens next is almost like an out of body experience, as your vision clears and you find that you've been transported to another place in another time.

In the beginning there was the world and the gods and there was peace...” The seer's soothing voice washes over you and there is nothing you can do except become wrapped up in its embrace and cling to her for your life. For who knows what will happen if she abandons you here. “ There was a land of desert and a land of snow. There was a land of forest and a land of water. There was a land of mountain and a land of plain. There was no such thing as famine or plague or war. There was only calm and innocent bliss. The gods lived in state of eternal happiness, but without the excitement of natural conflict many of them became bored.

“And when gods become bored they begin to play with their ability to create living dolls. And so the gods crafted the bloodlines and spread them across the world. The bloodlines formed factions and the factions formed nations. There were six nations who's names are not important, but only that there was one of desert, one of snow, one of forest, one of water, one of mountain and one of plain. But as the beings the gods had created were imperfect, it didn't take them long to fight amongst themselves.

“There arose amongst the mortals of lesser good, a man of complete darkness, a man of a bloodline known as the Shadowmasters, a race of massive mortals from the land of Mountain. He was of a larger than usual size for his race, measuring at around seven feet, with eyes that blazed crimson below his helmet and he was clothed in a scaly living armor, that was blacker than the abyss.

"This Shadowmaster, known as Rafale, had fallen in love with a woman hailing from a bloodline in the land of Plain. She was a Sylph, a race of frail looking creatures of an almost ethereal beauty. But this Sylph called Maegira, was of better morals than that of the man who longed for her. She believed in the gods and worshiped them while he spurned them and plotted to overthrow them. And so Maegira rejected Rafale.

“And Rafale, unused to rejection was determined to force her to love him, he conquered her home of the Plains, and his allies of the snow and of the Desert rose up to join him and they clashed with the land of the Forest and of the Water. But in the end all was destroyed, and Saegareth lay in ruins. Maegira was dead and Rafale was lost in eternal agony. The gods, either out of pity or in fear of how powerful he could become, sealed him deep in the World of Saegareth, leaving him in an eternal stasis. And Saegareth was left to rebuild.

"As the lands of the Mountain and the Snow and the Desert pulled together, they formed the Nation of the Unholy and as the lands of the Plain and the Water and the Forest pulled together they formed the Nation of the Holy. Between them lay a wasteland and only the hardiest of the bloodlines could live there, and they formed a neutral nation of The Mercenaries and became soldiers for hire to whatever nation offered them the most.

"And so Saegareth exists, with the Queen of the Unholy seeking to raise Rafale and take over the world. And the King of the Holy determined to stop her. And every other mortal, simply soldiers to their cause.
