Please take a moment to use your cookies to vote for this proposal in the Spring Cleaning forum. We have been pushing for guild updates for years, and the implementation of these ideas would benefit the Gaia Guild Network -- and the NSTG, of course -- tremendously. Thank you!

Are you new to Gaia? Are you having problems finding friends, earning gold, or figuring out what to do? If so, you've come to the right place. Here at the Newbie Supporting and Training Guild you can ask questions in a friendly environment, learn from skilled Gaians and feel comfortable while you learn the ropes.

At the NSTG, experienced users take you under their wings and teach you to become a part of the Gaian community. Limited donations are offered in our Charities and Minishops subforum (so please don't PM crew soliciting donations!). In our Questions and Assistance subforum, you will receive top-notch help for all your Gaian troubles by some of the most knowledgeable people on Gaia. While you're here, you're also invited to participate in our guild events and get to know some great users, newbies and experienced members alike.

The NSTG is home to an abundance of guides and other resources such as a Gaian dictionary and step-by-step instructions for posting pictures, editing your profile, and much, much more. For the most lost among us, we even have a Getting Started Guide to help you learn the basics of Gaia that will serve as a foundation for your future Gaian escapades! Learn about the most important skills on Gaia, including navigating, dressing your avatar, and earning gold. We also have available for you our Newbie Adoption Program, which opened on June 13th, 2010. Through this program, newbies are partnered with a mentor for one full year, where they learn everything they need to know in order to become a successful and independent Gaian.

Our mission is to provide a safe and educational environment for the fostering of newbies to productive Gaians. Whether you've been on Gaia for years or are just joining this amazing community, you're sure to find your niche in the Newbie Supporting and Training Guild.

Users wishing to donate, please do not donate to the guild using the form on this page. We cannot take gold out of our guild treasury; we can only spend it on Monthly Newsletters, and we already have enough in the guild treasury for several years' worth of those! We don't need any more gold in the guild treasury! If you want to donate gold to the NSTG in a way that will allow us to use those funds when and how we need it, please send your gold or items to the NSTG Mule. Thank you for your generosity!

For those who are confused about what to do, here are some tips:
  • To join the NSTG, click the orange "Join Guild" button under the guild banner in the upper right area of this page. You will be brought to a form where you can explain why you wish to join. Please don't forget to tell us how you found us!
  • After you've submitted your request, you can visit the guild forum by clicking the white "Guild Forum" button in the upper left area of the NSTG homepage. Once you arrive at the main forum, read through the stickies and announcements to acquaint yourself with the guild rules and happenings.
  • You can then visit the guild's various subforums (written and underlined in blue in the subforum box on the main forum page), including the Resources Subforum in which you may find answers to many of your questions.
  • You won't be able to post in the guild before you have been accepted by a guild crew member, so keep an eye out for a notice on the top of the page that says "1 new private message." It will appear in a speech bubble next to your avatar. This shouldn't take long, as the NSTG has many crew members who will quickly notice and most likely accept your join request. Remember, you'll have to refresh the page in order to see the notice.
  • In the private message that lets you know that you've been accepted, there is a link that will lead you back to the guild. Now you'll be able to post, either by creating a new topic or posting a reply in an existing one. A good place for your first topic is the Introductions Subforum, where you can tell your fellow NSTG members a bit about yourself.
