The Recent History of Western Gaia
Three Nations at War.
Not long ago, the three nations of the Western Realm of Gaia were tied together in conflict and mistrust. The Water Nation, with their technology; The Earth Nation, with it’s vast wealth and resources; and The Fire Nation, with their many forges and powerful military; Each nation wanting something the other possessed. Each nation bearing arms.
The Fourth Nation
Conflict finally broke out in the Nations. In the midst of this war, the three Nations were greeted by a threat none of them had known existed. The Shadow Nation, with their thirst for conquest and The Four Generals (four of the most powerful warriors known to the Western Lands) emerged from underground to assault the Nations of the Western Lands. Fire, Water and Earth warriors were forced to band together against their common threat.
War
After a few attacks on the three Nations, the battle was taken to the Shadow Nation. A small party was sent to infiltrate the Shadow Nation and to bring information back to the gathering armies. This small party made contact with the enemy and discovered a common cause. Together with the Four Generals, the Evil Queen and her army of shadows were defeated. The battle, though not quite epic in magnitude, was epic in significance. Though the fighting could have continued and the Western Lands could have been razed to the ground in a great war, after the Queen’s defeat, the Shadow Nation was brought to the Surface to begin anew at the shores of Ardun Lake in the Water Nation. The four Nations began a shaky alliance with each other. The new alliances ushered in a time of peace and prosperity for all the peoples of the Western Nations.
The Gaian Renaissance
A new age of enlightenment and scholarly pursuits has sprung out of this time of peace. After ten years, the nations have prospered in the absence of open conflict. But the alliance between the four is still tenuous, and a new threat lurks at their borders. The Nations must fight together, or fall to the darkness that seeks to consume them.
