In the beginning, there was only Hyne, the original Sorcerer. In his desire for something to exist for him to interact with, Hyne created the world and built plains, valley’s, and forests into it. This gave him a world to look at, but there was still something missing so Hyne created creatures, monsters to roam the lands freely. However, not all was peaceful. During his creation of such things, Hyne had to fight many beasts with godlike powers such as his own, and these were known as Guardian Forces. Among them, the Primal Guardian Forces, beings of godlike elemental power, banded together to strike him down. After years of battle, Hyne defeated all 12 of them and sealed their power away into various sections of the land. What Hyne found after his long battle was that the landscape he had originally made now had oceans, mountains, frozen expanses and much more.
Hyne had grown tired after his long battle and sat upon his throne to rest. While he was sitting there he noticed a mountain that obstructed his view, created during his long battle with the Primal Guardian Forces. He did not have the strength to deal with the mountain so he created a tool to take care of it. This tool was humans, and he gave them the ability to reproduce so that they might built themselves up on their own to tackle the mountain and went to sleep. He slept for many years, letting the humans work away at the mountain without his watchful eye, and he was surprised when he Awoke and saw all they had done and how much they had grown. Realizing that there were far too many, Hyne decided to reduce the number of humans and burned the smaller humans, the ones they called children. This upset the humans, but Hyne told them that they were his tools and that he could do with them as he wished. This enraged the humans.
This began a long battle between the humans and Hyne, one that Hyne quickly realized he might not be able to outright win. The humans could come at him in numbers and refill their ranks, but he always struck them down when they rose. What he did not expect was for humans to find a way to gain the power of the primal Guardian Forces that he had sealed away. Hyne was still weary from his long battle with the guardian forces, and while the Guardian forces themselves did not fight him, humans bearing their power did. Even though they all eventually died from using power far beyond their scale, for their time alive they successfully managed to corner Hyne using their power. In an attempt to ensure his survival, Hyne offered of half of his body, half of his power. Humans, believing this was a good thing, accepted his offer. Hyne gave the human’s ‘his skin’, which imbued the first sorcerer with their power. Taking this moment of reprieve, Hyne retreated, going to a place he knew no human would ever follow. Human’s released after years that the half of Hyne’s power that he had given them was the weaker half of his power, and they grew angry at being cheated and tried to hunt him down. No matter how long they looked, they could not find him, and so the tale of Hyne ended as his legend slowly disappeared as people forgot about it.
